Maud's Tavern

Food has always been great. Their burger is awesome! And don't miss their cole slaw, even if you don't typically like slaw give it a try it's nice and light. We usually eat at the bar, bartender's are always pleasant and able to read their guests. They know if you wanna chat or if you don't.  Their wait staff leaves some things to be desired but I guess that's with most places. You usually see the owner around too which is nice.

I've grown to really enjoy Maud's Tavern. I've eaten here about a half a dozen times. It didn't make much of an impression on me at first, because it serves very straightforward American food. Nothing fancy or exotic about it. But that's part of its charm. Maud's is a very nice, unpretentious place to relax. Sitting outside is an especially nice experience when the weather is nice.

The food is really well prepared, tasty, and satisfying. I've had a lot of items from the menu, but my favorites are the mussels, the grilled fish (they typically have salmon, but sometimes other specials like snapper), and the pasta dishes. Their desserts are really good too. Try the chocolate chip cake, which is very dense and rich and requires a glass of milk. It's one of the reasons I keep coming back to Maud's.

Something about Maude's is magical.  Sitting outside is so pleasant when it's nice out and Maude herself is a pleasure.  Friendly, & welcoming.  The food is always good.  Overall, a great local gem.
