It is my tradition to celebrate Bastille Day every year with my Mom. This year we decided not to go into the city and dine at Madeleine's instead. We have been at this wonderful establishment many times and have never been disappointed. Growing up in the restaurant business, and working in the industry for many years, I find that I am very particular when I go out to eat. Madeleine's Petit Paris is truly a "Gem". The food, service, wines, and cleanliness of this restaurant are superb. The special lunch that Chef Caloz prepared for the holiday was so delicious and everything was very fresh. I really appreciated that we did not feel rushed and the owners even sang for everyone, along with a great accordion player. Madeleine, along with her husband Chef Caloz, and their son Francois make you feel like you are coming into their home for the first time. I can't recommend any particular meal, because I truly like everything! Checkout their website, they always have different events going on and something for everyone and at a reasonable price.

Good dinner meal, but not a great meal.  Here is a recent sampler of comments for our table.

Wild Mushroom Napoleon -- tasty, but not a "wow" dish.  Escargot Cafe de Paris - pleasant.  Rack of lamb -- unremarkable, not bad but not at the top end. Duck Confit a l'Orange - very nice to a bit tough depending on the section of the duck.  Other dishes were good, but no need to review each.

Dishes are ample, not overwhelming and one does need a magnifying glass to see the food as is the case in some haut cuisine establishments.

Butter served in aluminum wrappers - hmmn.  Service staff - tepid.

Yes, French cuisine - but based on our collective voice somewhat akin to vin ordinaire; perhaps time to revisit the menu and dishes and recipes - literally is a 50,000 mile tune-up in order?

Oh, 20% service fee (tip) automatically applied....without a word from the server, even though we were not a large party.  My!  My!

My family and I were here for their Easter buffet banquet and we have nothing but praise for this wonderful establishment!  The food was rediculously delicious and we all left beyond stuffed.   I must have tried a little bit of almost everything, and the standouts to me were the potatoes au gratin, wild mushroom soup, duck a l'orange and veal medallions.   The dessert table was full of fresh fruits and pastries, probably the best key lime pie and creme brulee I've ever had.  Food was constantly being replenished and we were never without drinks.  Madeline and her husband even sang french songs, complete with bunny ears and tails!  Truly one of the sweetest things I've seen in a long time.  I am not too familiar with french cuisine, but this was a great introduction and such a great way to spend time with family in such a nice setting.  Can't recommend this place enough and most definitely recommend their special occasion brunches - you will be seated at your own private table and because it's banquet style, it's not overcrowded.  Valet parking that is well run is a huge plus!  Highly recommend!
