One of my favorite local restaurants, this place is EXCELLENT. The seafood is amazing, you get so much food with a single order, and the restaurant is comfy and cozy .My dad is close with the owner, so we always get a bunch of extra banchan (side dishes that come free with any Korean meal).

This restaurant does Korean food and Korean-style sushi. My family and I usually get a huge sashimi platter and a hotpot of some kind. With those two orders alone, we get at least 20+ side dishes that changes every time we go there. Seriously, you get full from just the side dishes, BEFORE any of the main entrees come out.

The sashimi is fresh, delicious, and there's so much variety on that one platter (we usually get a "Big" sized platter). Tuna, salmon, octopus, toro (fatty tuna), snapper, halibut, flounder, uni, sea cucumber, sea squirts, abalone, anchovy... those are just a few of the specimens that are served to us impeccably cleaned and sliced. Korean sashimi is different from Japanese sashimi in that you usually eat it with gochujang (spicy-sweet red pepper paste) or doenjang (fermented soybean paste) and leafy greens instead of with soy sauce, wasabi, and nori. Those choices ARE available, but you're in a Korean restaurant - why not do it the Korean way?

If you order a sashimi platter, you'll also get a bowl of soup made with the leftover fish bones from your order - it's hot and soothing and refreshing, and you drink it for the seafood-infused broth rather than the meat itself.

The hotpot comes out with a huge bowl of simmering, spicy soup with vegetables, noodles, rice cakes, and meat chunks on top of a portable burner. Once the waitress sees that you're almost done with your other food, she clears the table and sets the burner in front of you, mixing and doling out the portions once everything is ready. It's so good, but my family can rarely finish it because we're so full from the banchan and the sushi.

World Sushi is a really awesome place; nice workers, fresh fish, and generous portions. If you're in the neighborhood with a hankering for quality Korean food, come here!
