Velo, best food I've ever ate! This includes some of the best restaurants in the country as far as my eating experience.

Food itself- We ordered Butternut Squash and Brie Pizzette, macaroni & cheese, Steak Frites, brownie Sundae.  All of which were great, but the stars were the mac & Cheese (Truffles inside) and perfectly cooked steak frites.  We also ordered cocktails- basil lemon cooler and sangria, both were perfect for the heat wave and made with top ingredients.

Ambiance-  Quite pretty inside, a bit loud, despite the high end food, not pretentious.  Tends to have an older crowd compared to the other restaurants.  Get in before 6:45 to get a seat, it fills up quickly.

For 1 shared appetizer, 2 more expensive entrees, dessert, 4 cocktails and 2 esspresso we spent about $150.  The cost was definitely worth it, good place for a celebration or a special night out.

I went there last night with my boyfriend. We live locally and I had never heard of this place until I started searching some cool / swanky places to eat at, in and around Nyack. I came on Yelp to read the reviews and every single one was positive so I knew it had to be a good place.

    It was AMAZING.

    I absolutely loved it.
I had the Chianti Risotto and it was delicious. Nothing like anything I have had before. I can't even describe the taste.
My boyfriend had the off-the-menu t-bone steak. The waiter said the chef makes it sometimes and that he should try it. I had a taste and it was by far one of the juiciest cuts of meat I have ever had.

I had a super fruity margarita and some prosecco too. (Which were great) He had a jack & ginger and a "Singapore Sling" that was reccomended by the waiter. Needless to say it was similar to a long island iced tea. All the drinks were delish. And strong!

I highly reccomend this place for anyone who won't mind spending an extra buck. It is pricey.

Velo is excellent.  Service is lighthearted and attentive.  Ambiance is cozy without being cramped (including sidewalk seating in the warm weather.) Wine list is impressive and affordable. Food is excellent and reasonably priced.

    Here was our order:
    Two glasses of prosecco
    Fried oyster appetizer special
    Goat cheese tart appetizer
    Rabbit pasta entree
    Soft shell crabs entree special
Bottle of red (I cannot, for the life of me, remember what it was)
    Brownie sundae dessert to go

Our bill was under $150.  If we ate and drank like normal humans, it probably would have been under $100.  A steal if you ask me.  Everything was great.
Velo's food is less "precious" than their neighbor, 8 North Broadway, but it lived up to expectations, for sure.  They are, by far, now my favorite place for Italian cuisine in Nyack.

    Go.
