My wife and I enjoy going to Sweet Grass. The food is very good. The salmon is excellent! However, what makes this place a joy to go to is the staff. They are always so helpful and courteous. It such a breath of fresh air considering the mediocre restaurants that proliferate Westchester. This is definitely a restaurant worth going out of your way in order to enjoy a nice meal and great service.
Review Source:I found Sweet Grass by accident. I was traveling through Tarrytown on business and was looking for a place to get a quick bite. Nothing about the simple building prepared me for the wonderful meal I was about to enjoy.
The interior is simple and well lit. I took a seat at the bar and perused the menu, which had a robust selection of newer, ligther and above all, fresh cuisine that would appeal to any appetite.
I settled on the pan seared scallops with quinoa salad/chili oil. I'm a scallop snob, and it's not often I find a place that does the dish justice. But the entree was truly extraordinary - the scallops were cooked to perfection, seasaoned with confidence and cut like butter. The quinoa salad was a perfect accompaniment, bursting with flavor. Â
I am not a desert guy, but I Â did end the meal with an apricot tart. Â How lucky I am. Again, a perfect balance of flavors that was neither too sweet or too heavy.
The service is prompt and the staff is friendly, making this a most enjoyable dining experience.
When I'm back in NY, Sweet Grass is at the top of my dining destinations. Â If you are in the area, avail yourself of the opportunity to enjoy this hidden gem.
