This place is a great local bar. Â Bartenders pour good drinks and will chat with you. Â Also, this place has had food every single night I've been there (weeknights as well as weekends). Â Obviously, party mix on a bar-top is a nice gesture... but they also have hot dogs, home-made cupcakes and random other items depending on the night. Food is an after-thought at a bar, but it speaks to the way the owners/employees value their patrons. Â Also, the drinks skew to the strong side so having some food on hand to sop up the liquor is a nice touch.
I started going around the time it opened (Summer 2011 I believe) and it has become a lot more crowded since then - in a very good way. Â Even on a packed night, it still has all the charm of a local bar. Â People will actually remember your name and key facts about you. Â Case in point: Joanne, the DJ who runs karaoke on Thursday nights, not only remembered my name but also the songs I sang from the previous week. Â She completely impressed me by offering to go through some songs that I could sing with her as a duet (since my singing is not exactly top notch...) for the next week. Â That level of care for a bar's patrons is something I've never seen before.
