We were in town for the Nyack Art and Craft Festival and needed a break from the heat and some lunch.  We decided to try Mojo and it was a great choice.  The AC was cranked up and they have these cold strips in the middle of the tables to keep drinks cold- seems kind of brilliant.  There wasn't anyone there but it was also around noon on a Sunday.  We had the Mac'N'Cheese with bacon which was the best mac'n'cheese I've had in a while.  We also had the blackened chicken sliders which were very good.  I don't know that we got a good sense of the atmosphere of Mojo since we were there at noon during a busy street festival-- it seems like a sports bar-after work type of place but we enjoyed it very much.

This place sucks! If I could give it less then one star I would. I have never left a review for anything but after both experiences here, I felt compelled. The employees are horrible. There is one bouncer in particular that ruins the entire place. Glasses and food wear was all very very dirty. It is a shame because I am a regular at the owners other establishment and my two experiences here make me not want to go there either. Others who I have spoke with have had the same experiences.. I doubt the place will make it

I can confirm a few things from other reviewers, as well as add my 2 cents on Mojo, since I have been there 3 or 4 times now.

    Pros

    1) DELICIOUS small plates.  My favorite is the mac n cheese with bacon, craving it right now...  I've also had good salads here, and a friend I was with last time enjoyed the crab cakes.  Nothing too big and heavy, just delicious comfort food with a sophisticated twist.

    2) My friends and I all love the awesome "ice strips" that run the length of the bar and on most larger booth-type tables toward the back!  Basically they are like metal rivers that are frosted over, allowing you to put your beer on them after each sip and never have to waste that last 1/4 of your beer due to it getting warm.  Wouldn't do much if you get a drink in a stem glass, but still a fun extra that you won't find anywhere else in Nyack.

    3) Mojo attracts an older crowd compared to other places in Nyack, but still doesn't feel as stuffy or vibeless as OVI or some of the other dives.
They have a 25+ rule after 10pm, but I've found them to be a little lax on this.
    4) Casual enough to sit and talk with friends, until 10pm, then it gets loud- but it's not unbearable.  It doesn't turn into an all-out dance floor like Pour House, Black Bear, Bourbon, etc. It does get really loud, though, and conversations become a little difficult if you're by the back bar, but again not unbearable.

    5) NO TEENAGERS!  YAY!  (I'm saying that as a 24 year old: a few times now I've met underage girls in the bathroom at other bars in Nyack, and those are just the ones who willingly admitted it to me without me asking...)

    Cons

    1) Staff is kinda rude.  Not rude enough to make me deduct more than a star, but they're not the best.  For me, the food, ice strips, and laid back atmosphere makes up for it, but if you want to be waited on head to toe or build lasting relationships with the staff, don't expect to find it here.

    2) Price.  Sure, it can get pricey if you order two dishes of food and want to drink there all night...

    3) Weird lounge on the second floor.  You can't get up there without being part of the VIP party or are invited, so you can't make DJ requests unless the bouncer is being nice and lets you up.  I think it would be fun to have a party up there some time but I bet it's expensive.  Feels out of place with the downstairs, but you won't notice it's there unless you go looking for the DJ or want to go up the stairs.

    Overall Comments

Perfect after work or weekend hangout: it doesn't get unbearably loud like Pour House or Black Bear until after 10pm, so you can go there for a more relaxed dinner with (mid 20s+ friends).
