We've always driven by Maxi's but never bothered to stop until last night. Â The place is casual with wooden booths. Â We were seated immediately and greeted by our server. Â The menu is pretty basic - the appetizers consisted of mostly fried items so we passed.
There are a couple of salads, a section of burgers and sandwiches and dinner entrees consisting of steaks, prime rib, ribs and a couple of seafood dishes. Â We weren't in the mood for a huge steak dinner so we stuck with the sandwiches. Â I ordered the Chicken Specialty Sandwich which was a perfectly grilled chicken breast with ham, mozzarella and American cheeses. Â It was huge, served on french bread and a side of steak fries. Â
My fiance ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich that was fried and also served with steak fries. Â He said it was good.
The portions were large for the price - both sandwiches were $7.95. Â I had two glasses of wine and he had two beers and our bill totaled $34.
We would recommend it for a casual lunch. Â We may stop back sometime to check out the steaks.
This place was HORRIBLE. My husband ordered the BBQ ribs and they had absolutely NO meat on the bones! I ordered fish and chips and they were gross and greasy. I don't see what people like in this place. It is so overrated.
**I did to have "fish and chips", maybe it was under a different name like deep-fried perch.
