Went in today with my family. 2 people ordered burgers and I ordered a turkey club. Needless to say, no one finished their food. The burgers were overcooked and greasy, my turkey club was greasy, and our waitress was just "Meh." Nothing special. The only saving grace of this place was their fries....which were delicious. Don't know if I'd ever go back...maybe I just caught them on a bad day...

Went here with a big group of Polish guys and gals last night. It was dance party central- on a Saturday after midnight! If that's not your scene, don't bitch about it. You know what you're getting into. It was an awesome time.

Came here on a Saturday before 5 pm. Service was marginal, so I left. I have been here before and have had better experiences. I'm not giving up after this one experience. This is a nice place with a nice environment.

This is a great spot for any type of person. If you want a chill place, come here Sunday-Thursday any time or Friday and Saturday prior to 10:30 pm. If you want to dance it up, come Friday or Saturday night after 10:30. They have arcade games, pool tables, darts, and PX90. You'll have a great time!

They have great food although they can be spacey on pricing if you request substitutions.

This place is interesting, I have been here once. It was somewhat downtime I guess. I mean for this place, they have plenty of seating. Although it was pretty empty when I went. Looked like a ghost town. The waitress kept asking us every 3minutes if we were ready to order. But once we did order we never saw her again. When the food was brought over. It was burned! Now when I go to a place thats empty and only a few people are seated at the bar. That doesn't explain, why my food should be burned. We waited for waitress to get back. By that time my friend was done with their food. I just wanted to get out of there, and head to Kerry Pipper instead. lol

I didn't expect much by the looks from the outside but this place had some great food! I came here with my parents for a quick lunch. It scared me a bit to come in to a full service bar with dining room w/my parents for lunch! But ok we had a http://restaurant.com coupon so why not!? It was fabulous!! My Dad and I had a full slab of BBQ ribs and Mom had Pot Roast. Again not your typical bar food! But we were excited to only spend $35 w/tip for this excellent meal! I would definitely recommend this place. Just south of I-55 on Rt. 83. I never really come down this way but might reconsider this in again in the future!!

I gave this bar and grill a two cause the calamari appetizer wasn't so bad. My server was a cute young girl with heavy accent. She started ok taking our drinks and appetizer. When we got the drinks and the appetizer, we didn't get any small plates to share the appetizer. So unless you want to swap saliva by putting your forks to grab more you couldn't just grab some and put it on your own food. That is just wrong. We put our empty drinks to the edge of the table to hint to her that we need refills. We had to ask. Between appetizer and entree (although we ordered the same time as our appetizer) took I believe 20 minutes. That is a long time to wait between courses. No the restaurant wasn't busy. I counted at least 4 empty tables. This was at 8pm. After the meal, we order drinks 'cause we noticed the "dj" was playing dancing music. After 15 minutes of waiting for our alcoholic beverages, I went to the bathroom. I noticed her there, and I asked if we are going to get our drinks. She finally got our drinks. We chugged our drinks fast and left. Even if Maxum Bar & Grill was to give me free food, I won't even go back. It is not worth it. Although I bought this via groupon, It was a terrible experience for us. The only way I will ever go back if I see tons of positive reviews from others that they have changed their ways on service and portion size. My suggestions to the owner is to actually read this review and take heart of what I'm pointing out. Maxum has potential to be a good bar and grill in the suburb. As long as you serve that small of appetizer for $11 and have that slow of a service, you will continue not earn new customers. I prefer to go to a dive with great service than go to a place with horrible service with no knowledge of etiquette. Lastly, please increase the lighting a little prior to the dj showing up. It was so dark, my eyes hurt looking at my food. It is probably dark like that to hide the small portion of my food.

My 2-star rating is based strictly on our recent dinner dining experience. To start, the service was pretty good and our waitress was very friendly. That's kind of where the good ends. Tried to order some beers, and after about four failed attempts (No Moosehead, Blue Moon, 312, all of which are usually stocked) I think we ended up with something Sam Adams, or Corona? Had a Groupon (GROUPON FRIENDLY) so we ordered plenty of food. My side salad was ok. The Chicken Tenders were absolutely terrible. Freezer burned and very dry. Thanks for all you do Mr. Bleu Cheese. My NY Strip entree was ok, but far and away from any steak you'd find at a steakhouse, or reputable restaurant. Dry, fatty, and really short on the seasoning. I try to avoid steak sauce or A1 with steak, but this one needed it bad. My wife's "Home Run" sandwich got caught in a rundown between first and second (baseball reference...). Says a lot when more than half of your plate is left and you deny the "to-go box". Maxum is a decent place to go on a Friday night...if you're into the whole Dance/Nightclub scene, complete with long bar lines, popped collars and Eurotrash (which is usually a good time lol). Unfortunately, it's not the place to spend $50 or $60 on dinner for two. Stop here for drinks, but somewhere else for eats.

Disclaimer: I have never been to this club at night. I hear it turns into eurotrash/douchebag central. I am writing this review based on my dining experiences there during the day. Drink prices are adequate, but the burgers are delish. And very lightly priced, which is good. Great place to stop in for a few beers by yourself, without being bothered by creeps (yes, as kristen s. put it, the guys here are old and douchey, but as long as you don't look like a Barbie girl, they will leave you alone, which is good for me when i just want to relax and be invisible). I usually sat outside to eat/drink, which is also the smoking area, so I enjoyed listening to either businessmen or bikers talk about their business deals/days. If you don't like to silently observe, this place probably isn't for you. I didn't come here to socialize, I came here to down a dank burger and have 3 beers by myself.

Great little neighborhood bar. You can get a couple beers a shot and a nice meal for less than the cost of an order of wings and one beer from Buffalo Wild Wings. The girls behind the bar are super nice and will regularly stand you a round once they get to know you. Lately the food has really improved. Last couple of times I had a great juicy burger, shrimp quesadillas (a special) with really fresh shrimp, and an awesome steak burrito. Keep in mind that there will be a really different crowd depending when you go. Friday/Saturday nights will be barely legal crowd doing jaggerbombs while a dj spins. Lunch during the week will be mostly blue collar guys (like 10 guys from UPS last time).

I stopped in here for a few drinks before the blackhawks game, and from the second I walked in here I knew I wouldn't be staying long. It was filled with the kind of guy who uses a whole bottle of gel in their hair, and thinks wearing all of a suite (including vest), but with a pain of obviously over expensive "pre-ripped" jeans and some kind of white snakeskin shoes. The other percentage of guys in there were way too old to be acting like they're they're just drunk their first beer, in whatever it was they rolled in from work wearing. NOT my kind of place. the few girls in there were probably all bartenders, but I couldn't really tell because they were all flirting with some dude probably double their age. The only two I could actually tell were bartender were the two bimbos ignoring people's drink orders until they were done whispering and giggling by the register.

outside advertised to watch hockey games there, thus why my group and i stopped in, but their shitty music was too loud to hear any game anyway. there was a few tv's all playing basketball and baseball, no hockey what so ever.

and to top it off? i have NEVER paid $5 for a draft beer. fuck that noise. we left after one beer each.
