I was in the area for the Limp Bizkit concert , we had time & wanted to grab drinks & food b4 the show.
Typical Irish pub here the place is a decent size seating upfront by the bar & tables at the back.
Once seated we ordered some Sam Adams summer ale to begin with ... Personally I've always like this beer & when they have it on tap its great , can't go wrong nice & cold great taste.
For my main dish I tried the Mac & Cheese , decent size plate good taste but a bit on the less creamy side .. Mac & Cheese is always best when creamier.
My friend had the Chipotle Burger , nice size burger comes w fries not bad at all.
We enjoyed our food, good service , decent atmosphere & prices were reasonable.
My boyfriend and I agree. Â We're giving Meehan's of Huntington 3 stars. Â
We went there for a friend's birthday, and I expected to eat poorly, considering I am a vegetarian and American/Irish restaurants hardly ever cater to my type.
Thankfully, they had a healthy amount of vegetarian and pescetarian options, including their Avocado fries (thick, moist strips of avocado lightly breaded and fried), and a black bean burger. Â They also had a few salads to choose from- but nothing that floored me; Â almost every salad featured meat and/or cheese, which is a great way to pile on the unhealthy calories.
As for poultry and meat options, there were several burgers (all of which seemed enticing, even to me), as well as your usual chickeny-type dishes. Â My boyfriend got a half-chicken (it just sounds wrong, doesn't it?) with a beer gravy, and he said it was delicious. Â He hardly lifted his head from his plate until the bones were picked clean. When he lifted his head from the plate, there was a greasy sheen covering his entire bald head, and he had a gigantic grin on his face. Â
Conclusively, I liked it. Â It was pretty good. Â it exceeded my expectations, and was friendly enough. Â If you're in Huntington, and you can't find anywhere else to eat, don't be afraid to try Meehan's.
