Vitae Restaurant & Wine Bar

I went here on 6/26 for my 4 year anniversary dinner. It came recommended by friend and we decided to go with the recommendation. To make it even better the morning before I was going to make a reservation , I got an email from Groupon advising a deal for this restaurant, must have been fate! We secured a reservation with no problem. We made it to the restaurant and were promptly greeted with a friendly smile and shown to our table. Doug our waiter was immediately available to take our drink order and recommend drinks to start out with. As this was our first time here we were overwhelmed with what to start out with(the menu isn't huge but what they have on it ALL sounded terrific. Of Course we asked our wonderful server Doug if he could point us in the right direction and he gave us 3 of his top preferences. We ended up going with the Tandoori Naan app and it was spectacular. We then enjoyed the Nicky Hahn meritage with our dinner. The wifey got the blue crap crusted sole, which she absolutely loved and I ordered the Cedar River Farm Flat Iron Steak. All I can say is that the steak was absolutely perfect. I ordered it rare and it came out exactly like it should, nice caramelized sear on the outside and deep red in the center. It was everything I hoped it would be, nice portion and cooked to perfection and just the right thickness to the meat. At the end of the meal the owner/or manager I am not sure came over with a complementary after dinner drink for our anniversary. It was a nice touch to say the least. Overall, Vitae made it a memorable night and they didnt rush us out of there(remember we did use a groupon). All I can say is if you have a romantic dinner and want a sure bet I would highly recommend this place. They have a nice little courtyard on the side, but it was a little to hot and humid for my taste on the night we went but I will definitely be giving the patio a try when the weather is a little more cooperative.

Okay. I'm probably looking through rose colored glasses at this place given its review average so far, but I loved it. Yes, on a great date. This was her neck of the woods, so she had called ahead for a reservation. They weren't quite ready for us when we arrived. I think that would have bothered me had I not been pleased to grab a couple glasses of white and sit outside on such a picturesque night. My company and I could sit and converse for hours that turn into minutes. The owner came up to us a couple times to spread the jovial word.

Our table was ready, and we were greeted by a very pleasant and professional waiter. Kevin [or was it Jacob? Sorry dude, a bit distracted.] My date didn't appreciate the length of the single table, so we cozied up on the couch and turn the table. We wanted for nothing. Continual checks on our progress without being annoying. Next thing you know we're in a empty dining room. No pressure to kick us out though. As a matter of fact, we learned a few things about the owner when he graced our table.

The filet mignon was $36 dollars. Worth every penny and then some. I order it rare. No sauce, just crazy cow goodness. This place does steak right. Fantastic cut that was flamed with precision.

I don't understand what other's are complaining about.  I came here with a reservation of 7 for my bachelorette party dinner, and it was fabulous.  The crowd is older (average person in their 40s),  my group of girls ranged ranged from 22 to late 50s.  The ambience and decor is very nice and trendy, warm and inviting.  The food and drinks were delicious and the dessert was fabulous as well.  Our waiter, Doug, was very nice and I found it a special touch that I received a glass of champagne on the house in celebration :)  I am a picky person who likes the finer things in life and so are the women I came with, we all loved it here.
