There's no real way to explain what Melting Pot means to my family. It is the go-to for every occasion we celebrate. I don't know how many Melting Pots I've been to (but it includes one in Hawaii) or how many times (at least 20, if I had to guess). Suffice it to say I know my way around a Melting Pot. I know what I'm going to order before I get there (usually). Cheddar or white queso to start. A California or caesar salad for second course. Any tray of meats that involve a lot of chicken and a lot of teriyaki sauce. And bananas foster for dessert. Delicious every time. Love it.
Review Source:We went here for a large (8 people) family dinner during Restaurant Week. There are many reasons why we'll never go back to this location:
- Our waitress was horrible - not accommodating, didn't make it a fun experience, never filled our waters, didn't explain the menu to us (some had never been there) basically just dropped the food off and was gone.
- We asked about the Restaurant Week menu and our waitress just disregarded it and was like, none of you would want it. Restaurant Week was the main reason we choose this spot, because it was a smaller portion of food for a good price. She didn't need to be rude about it...
- We didn't get our first drinks for about 50 minutes. We had to get up and find the manager and even then it still took awhile. SInce our waters were never filled we ended up having to get up again and get the pitcher of water ourselves, which was literally two feet away at the server station.
- The food was the only thing I'd give 2 or maybe 3 stars. How can you go wrong with chocolate fondue. Yet it took almost an hour and a half to get the cheese fondue.
As we looked around at the other tables, we could tell others were in our same situation and one couple even got up and left.
For the price - very expensive - we will never go back. I would try Geja's Cafe or another fondue place before this one.
Wow, what a fantastic experience!
We were sat right away in a romantic room set apart from the rest of the restaurant. Our waiter, Brad, talked us through the menu and made what would turn out to be great suggestions on courses with the standout being the mojo oil(?). (I think that's what its called). :)
The manager made a point of coming and checking on us and made us feel at home.
The food was stellar as well. The meats were flavorful and the Wisconsin trio had a ton of flavor.
We will definitely be back.
Thanks Brad for making a special night out that much better!!
