I was going to give four stars because they finally got some decent craft beer and they aren't all ipa's however when we realized we were paying 7.50-10.50$ PER BEER that kinds ruined it for us. I don't mind paying a little more but I could buy a 6 pack of it for nearly that. The price on they're craft beer is just outrageous, I could drive down town and pay less. The food is ok, crawfish good, potatoes are too freaking hot though like they over season them and they soak it up. The big kahuna burger is delicious though. If you get crawfish ask for the garlic butter to dip them in soooooo good. May be back, not sure the price of the beer was really disappointing. $10.50 for a st arnolds  12 oz. even if it is limited is price gouging.
Review Source:Finally something of this quality in our area. Â The beer selection is excellent. Â The owner really knows his beer. Â I have actually found beers in limited release that could not be found elsewhere in Houston (most don't carry and the few that do sell out). Â Food wasn't bad for what it is.
The beer prices are what you would expect. Â Reasonable for the big name brands (why you would want to drink them instead of Ballist Point Victory at Sea, or 512 Pecan Porter is beyond me) Â They are all very friendly and I will be a going back yet again real soon.
The wife, two friends and I went for dinner and drinks. We had a good time.
Food- Our food came out in good time and the Burgers were good, the Grilled Salmon I had was tasty and the crawfish our friend ordered was very good. It would have been nice to have bigger mud bugs, but nonetheless, they were just the right taste.
Drinks- We like beer. They have a great selection of beer on draft and it didn't match what was on their webpage, but still, beer is good. I wish they had more bottled beer, but meh, you can't win them all.
Service- Our server, Sarah, had been working there two weeks and we could tell. She did forget the highchair, mayo on the side, and didnt split the check 100% (no worry there, just had my buddy pay for one of my beers, but I am sure he owes me anyways!) but she had great personality and came by often checking on us and seeing if we were good. She will be a good waitress as she gets more experienced.
Overall- We like the place. With a selection of beer just minutes from our home, it will take a zombie apocalypse or a shortage of beer to keep us from going back.
So this little bar is right near our home, we had passed it but never stopped in. I read the reviews and they seemed to have a pretty cool Sunday menu and crawfish was on the menu and I was int he mood for it!
The reviews comment on how slow the service was, so we sat at the bar to avoid all that and it worked. Our food was out quick and it was pipping hot. We had great access to the TV's.
I ordered a shot of maple crown and a blue moon, while the MR. ordered a shot of Jamison and a Guiness - both of which paired very well.
The only awkward part about not just Mojo's but any bar is shift change. When your bar tender clocks out and another comes on, you have like reestablish that relationship all over again with a new person. It's even weirder when you have paid and left the previous waiter a tip already and the new waiter knows that regardless of how nice they are, there is a small possibility that If I don't order anything else and you only refill my water glass that you may not be getting a tip.
I will be back to this place..
Food continues to be good but takes way to long. Â Service has got to improve.
Had three in the party order different glasses of wine and each round we had to play taste what you have and pass to the correct person. Â Salad dressing was wrong, ordered bean soup got potato.....pretty much amateur night from the wait staff.
Hope they improve soon....
It was a Friday night and some friends of mine and I went here to get drinks. Â The waitresses kind of just hang out there while you sit there waiting for someone to take your order. Service is terrible and food is decent but way over priced to be fair. Â I believe in treating people with respect and this place does not. Â They really need to work on their customer appreciation. Â You work hard for your money and to have to blow it on bad service is just a shame.
Review Source:This has a great parking lot, lots of space inside and fresh tasting bar food. Oh yea...and they mix some mean drinks too.
Since it is a sports bar, it gets loud during games. But if you can get over the noise, this place is great. On some nights there is even a DJ.
The building has been several restaurants over the years...Hopefully this one will stick.
Former Norton's....pretty much looks the same, but is an improvement on all the reason why Norton's went out of business. Â
AWESOME beer selection for this neck of the woods. Â When we visited, they had the basics plus Texas brews including (512), Southern Star, No Label, and Saint Arnold. Â Trust me, you can't find those beers on tap around here, and to have them only a mile from my house...winning!
Food was ok and really hoping they can improve. Â We started off with the chips, salsa, and queso. Â Salsa and chips were good, but queso was oh so not bueno. Â We split a turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries. Â The menu said the y sandwich was served on cranberry wheat bread, but it came out on your basic Mrs. Baird's wheat. Â This was disappointing since they make a point to let you know on the menu that all sandwiches are served on fresh "specialized" bread. Â The sweet potato fries were good, could've of made a meal off them alone. Â The biggest change from the Norton's era, is the service...BIG improvement. Â Even had the manager come by to make sure everything was up to par.
Back to the important stuff, the beer. Â Happy hour from 4 till 7. Â Wednesday is big beer night and Thursday is White Trash Thursday with $2 tall boy Lone Star, Lone Star Lights, Pabst, and Olde English. Â Might have to take my evening walk straight to Mojo's.....
I stopped by with a friend a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed my time there. It was the night of the UFC fights. I wouldn't have expected quiet anytime much less during the fights. We had the chicken kabobs and fried pickles...and they were both excellent. Prices were good and our service was great too. We'll be back there soon to celebrate my friends birthday..........
Review Source:Not a fan. It's similar to a 20 yr old's frat/sorority house, with brains to match, and creepy old men wandering around. Â And it's 4 in the afternoon! Also, where I drink, I prefer children under the age of 21 to stay home, yes I do understand that a "grille" is the same as a restaurant. I wanted to sit on the patio but it's like a freaking school yard out there! Oh, and an employee behind me can't figure out to get her lazy butt up to talk to the bartender about "hooking up" tonight. And now employees, with the manager presenr, are belching in the hallway. SERIOUSLY?? ...I don't think I will be back unless I am desperate...and I'm NEVER THAT desperate.
Review Source:Good Stuff: Â
*fried pickles
*quality of hamburger meat
*ranch
Stuff to improve on:
*Staff service-they're inexperienced
*SEASONING the food
*side salad (definitely read below)
*overall...the food!!
Below contains details on bullets...
The fried pickles were great...although they serve enough for 4 people!! Â They might be able to cut costs by reducing the amount. The ranch was VERY GOOD, however, the menu said it would be spicy and this had no heat to it!
I had a burger, a good old fashioned cheeseburger. Â The quality of meet was pretty good, but the burger was very under seasoned! Â I had to dip my burger in BBQ sauce in order to add flavor. Â
I ordered a house salad in stead of fries...it gets 1 star. Â The lettuce had old lettuce that was decaying! Â Being pregnant I couldn't eat it. Â It was a spring mix salad, with nothing but croutons and tomatoes on it!! The lettuce was lifeless. Â SO disappointing.
My husband had the cuban. Â He liked it, but I don't think it was something to write home about! Â It was just a sandwich to him. Â
Our waitress was obviously new. Â Since I've been a waitress myself...I of course will have mercy on her soul, however, she seemed like she was lost. Â She kept apologizing, even though she didn't need to. Â It only made it seem like she didn't know what she was doing. Hopefully she will improve with time.
The manager decided to talk to an employee out on the patio, just two tables from us. Â The conversation appeared to be about someone that had flashed the bar...I'm guessing the night before. Â If you're going to talk with an employee, it should always be in the office, not where your customers are!! Remember, someone is always watching!!
The restaurant is beautiful inside, it looks like it could be a great sports bar, then you eat the food. Â The food quality doesn't match the decor. Â I guess you're just supposed to go there for the beer and not the food. Â Too bad...I'm a pregnant chick that could totally chow down!!!
I wonder if the restaurant can survive on alcohol service alone??
I had high hopes for this place. Here are my Pro's and Con's.
Pro:
1. Lots of TV's to watch sports on.
2. Philly Cheesesteak was pretty good.
Cons:
1. Service was awful.
2. Friends had the pizza, and I tried a bite also. It tasted like a bad version of store bought pizza.
3. Credit card machine was down and we were forced to leave our CC info, or stay till it was fixed. No discount or anything.
4. To top off our experience, our car was hit in the parking lot.
Not a very good experience at all!
Didn't take too long for something to pop up where the old Norton's used to be. And the new place.... is just like Norton's, only just like Norton's when Norton's first opened and not like Norton's when Norton's was finally put out of it's misery.
Fresh coat of paint on the inside, a few new video games in the corner, and a different (yet similar) menu consisting of pizza, burgers, salads, sandwiches, and appetizers. Â So far I've sampled the Philly Cheesesteak (does come with hot peppers when you get it loaded so that was a good twist) and the cheese was good and gooey like a cheesteak should be, but the sandwich itself was just ok. Â Chicken salad had a hearty portion. Â The fries that come with the sandwiches are average.
The beer selection is still good, there is wall to wall TV's with every game on (but the acoustics inside are horrible) and the patio is a great place to hang out now that the weather is bearable again.
I'm glad something went in here and I wish the new owners the best. Â As long as they can keep up the good service then MoJo's should take off.
