A total tourist trap but nevertheless I had fun here. Â I thought it was weird that they served shots in disposable shot glasses. Â But the crowd was live and everybody was dancing. Â The room was also huge with enough space for everybody so you're not packed in like sardines. Â The DJ played mostly top 40 stuff which was okay in my book. Â
Just to preface everything, we were here on a conference and it was just a short walk away. Â I don't know how the regular clubs are in Orlando but for what it is, pleasure island gave me exactly what it had promised... pleasure.
The dance club-iest dance club at Pleasure Island. It's a cavernous space with a so-so lighting system, pumping out top 40 dance and hip-hop/booty/whatever music. Big screens over the DJ stage so you can watch Christina Aguilera do her thing. The drinks were acceptable (i.e. strong enough and made with bottom- to middle-shelf liquors), and the two ginormous bars on either side of the room meant little wait-time.
I'll admit that dancing at the club is not my first choice for a Saturday night; however, I've had better times doing that downtown, so this place is staying at a solid 2-star rating.
Admission is either for the club itself or a $25 pass to all of Pleasure Island. Non-smoking, 21 and up.
