I was going to describe this place as a dark, velvety man-cave, but I stopped mid-sentence because it was too lurid. Seriously though, it is that, in the best way possible.
Atmosphere/Crowd:
Speaking as a small female individual between 18 and 21, I felt safe and had a lot of fun in my group of about 8-9 people ranging from 20-30 years of age. It wasn't weird that a few of us didn't drink. I went on a Thursday night, and there were a few other groups of 20-somethings playing pool, but there wasn't any competition for tables, at all. Things were in nice, clean condition, and while scoping the place out, I didn't worry about herpes at any point, which is unusual for me.
The bar:
It's small and sort of weird; I'm an unhelpful reviewer of this scene on the grounds that I'm underage, but I would venture to conclude that pool is genuinely the main affair. That sounds like a "duuuuh" comment, but don't look at me all innocently! Yoou know there are shitty tavern-things where games like poker are a pretext for ritualized binge drinking and bitching about the challenges of being brusque manly men who like to have intercourse with women and earn 60% of the household income. ("So the other day, I come home and think the old lady is finally makin' Cinnamon Spice Cobbler, or perhaps, uh, dryin' Â some freshly f****** laundered linens in the motha******* sunlight. So, I says to her-listen, Larry, listen-I says to her, 'Woman, where the f**** is the Cashmere With Hints of Nutmeg and Sandalwoodâ„¢?' but as it happens, it was just a goddamn motha******' Gladeâ„¢ plugin. I was blown away, Larry, BLOWN AWAY. And not in the traditional sense, neither.")
Anyway, didn't see many people at the bar, and there weren't many stools there to begin with so I guess that's good.
PRO:
-I like the calm atmosphere..
-it didn't smell weird when I went
-there weren't pushy loud drunks trying to start fights or anything.
-I appreciate dark spaces with fairly decent music played at a reasonable volume, and this is one of those..
-There are squishy theater-style chairs all along the walls..pretty nice set-up.. good for people watching and such, so.. the furniture itself is great.
CON:
-The spacial organization is totes awk! When you're in the theater seats around the perimeter of the room, there are lots of opportunities to get nailed in the face with the back end of a pool cue. It's annoying whether you're playing or the one taking a pool cue to the face. (but funny as hell if you're just a sadistic spectator)
-The few people sitting at the bar were large, strange, greying old men. (only a con subjectively speaking.. of course any "pro/con" label is by necessity a subjective distinction, but that's neither here nor there)
-The guys actually working in there seemed young and kinda way cooler than me..like unfriendly, yanno?
(With that said, I think if you're going to a pool hall with the expectation of service with a smile alá TGI Fridays, you're gonna have a bad time.)
(Also that would be stupid.)
For the record, they are very assertive about their 18+ policy, and they *will* check your ID.
By far my favorite place to play pool and chill on a weekday night. Â Weekends are fine too but it gets a little crowded. Â
They have a great variety of tables - more big tables than small tables, varying pocket tightness, hourly and quarterly tables, etc, etc, etc.
The quality of everything here is immaculate. Â The tables roll flawlessly, the house cues are the best I've ever seen, the balls seem like they're all brand new, the beer is fantastic, the music is great, and the service is wonderful. Â Everyone I've met that works behind the bar is extremely friendly and hard-working. Â
It's also ridiculously inexpensive. Â My girlfriend and I can play for 2 hours, get 3 great craft beers, and get out for under $20. Â You really can't beat that.
Torrance and nightlife..These words don't really go together. *SIGH* Not many options but here's another alright place to add to your list.
Pitcher of Arrogant Bastard and billiards...on a Thursday night... that will do.
Big open space, small dumpy bar with some decent beers on tap. Plenty of tables and very mellow place.
Just a place to go play and drink.
Firstly, I come here for the great people/Staff. As a woman, pool halls can be a bit sketchy. You come to play a few games, and are bothered all night.  But this place is filled with funny regulars, and great staff like Jan, April, and Toni. You walk in and purchase a cold beer, put a few quarters down, and your evening is off to the races. It also helps that there is a great bar next door called the Zebra room. (For those who need a little more than beer to start their night) You must try the chicken wings, and the  fries. $5 for food, 75 cents per game. The ambiance can turn from country dive bar, to hip hop swag, all in the same night... thanks to their music selections. Ive become a regular, and its one of my favorite spots in Torrance. See you there!
Review Source:I love Mr. Lucky's! Tons of tables, with varying size and pocket-tightness. Table rental is very reasonably priced. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Good selection of tap and craft beers-they even have gluten-free Angry Orchard!
This is a great place to hang out, shoot some pool and enjoy the juke box.
This place is a local spot for sure.. Don't come here on a Friday/Saturday night expecting a table right away. It gets crazy busy and you'd end up not wanting to come back. Come here during the week, order a basket of seasoned fries or wedges, and a pitcher of beer and you'd be entertained for hours. Lots of parking front and rear, good selection of beer, and nice maintained tables. Cant really complain about this place but I am a local.
Review Source:These guys are an honest pool hall. Which is enough of a complement alone for a 4 star pool hall. I left my jacket once and came back 3 days later for it. I've played in numerous 8ball tourneys here. The tables are decent, the beer is cheap. However, they looked @ me like I was crazy when I asked for a PBR, so no 5 star for you!
Review Source:Not many good pool halls out here, at least that I know of. For most, this place is pretty mellow but bland. No hype what so ever, after a few games you kind of just want to leave. It's kind of pricey unless you play the quarter pool table. The finger food they have takes FOREVER to make. I guess try it out for the hell of it.
Review Source:Good spot to shoot some pool. I've been trying to make it apart of my weekly schedule to stop by Mr Lucky's for a few games. Everything is kept clean and service is friendly.
Parking is some what of a pain during peak hours and you might find yourself waiting for a table occasionally. Other than that, thumbs up!
This is a cool spot to shoot some pool. Really laid back environment, cheap beer (always a good selling point for me), good happy hour specials, and cool bartenders. Their tables are well kept and play well. How can you knock a pool hall that has fast eddie felson painted on the wall?
Review Source:Just got back from shooting here with my brother. Very nice place for the laid back kinda person. 10 total tables- 7regulation tables and 3 coin operated. All of which have tight pockets and clean fast felt. Â Service was good and the atmosphere here was very welcoming and friendly.
The windows are all covered in black drapes, which is a good, and most of the walls are air brushed with great art work. Parking is easy, and the lot has enough room for everyone that would want to come.
Did not get a chance to drink or eat but they have a good selection of drinks, and their menu did not look too bad.
Their choice of music is played via SIRIUS and they also have a jukebox for those interested.
I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a nice laid back pool hall/bar
I wasn't expecting much when I showed up at this pool hall.  It turns out that there was this very nice bartender, she was super friendly and easy going.  The  pool tables has up-to-date felt unlike a lot of pool halls which don't take care of their tables. It is definitely a place I will come back to.
Review Source:This is a nice place to go hang out for some beer and pool action. The place has decent parking. Â They just added some bar tables and stools so there are room to just kick it. Â
Some time you'll have to be on a waiting list to play pool  durning the peak hours like on a Thursday-Saturday night...
Great place to come and play pool! I came during the day when it was cheaper, but I don't know if I'd come back to play pool here during their peak hours. I played for about two hours and only payed around $12. Not too bad at all. The place reminds me of what a movie director would choose to place a grungy, slightly badass fight scene in a movie.. kind of like in Rush Hour when Jackie Chan accidentally picks a fight with the people playing pool. I haven't been to other pool areas in the southbay, but this place is well worth it if you're in the area.
Review Source:IF YOU LIKE TO PLAY POOL CHECK OUT MR. LUCKY'S. Â The tables are regulation size with super tight pockets with really nice felt. Â If you master these tables, you can play anywhere. Â I come here for some friendly competition with my wolf pack. Â The beer is relatively cheap by the pitcher.
Bottomline: The pool tables are the ONLY reason why we come here.. Well.. And that there isn't another pool hall in the Southbay thats worth a damn.. Â Check it out.
I can not believe the wolfpack has not reviewed this place. I have a ball here because the Bartender Apryl is sweet as pie. The place is like a hometown fave. Good beer, cool finger foods and pool. The jukebox has a great selection so you put in a few bucks or just listen to whats on and its all good. I do not play pool well but its fun to kick back with my peeps and clown around. Its a cool kick back spot, no drama and it has crazy mall like parking and we roll on the weekdays, cuz we grown we can do that!!!
Review Source:When I was there (Friday afternoon) it was a) older Asian guys b) younger Latino guys and c) my gringo buddy and me.
No attitudes, no scenes, no bluster or BS. Also, no atmosphere, no cool hip energy either. Â I do like a teeny tiny bit of grungy retro in my pool halls, and this didn't have that either.
Play billiards, drink beer. Repeat. Got what you came for...
This isn't the nicest of places to go but if your looking for somewhere to play pool and maybe have a drink or two then this place to go.
I'd say this is mostly for locals, its not nicely decorated or anything and depending on when you go the crowds vary there as well. Â Tables are priced fairly as are the drinks.
If your in the mood for a chill place to play some pool and just hang out with friends then this isn't a bad choice.
They say they have 10 tables, but 3 are smaller coin operated ones so they really only have 7. Waited almost an hour for a full size table on a friday night. Â Reasonable prices, since its just a room with a limited bar and pool tables. Nothing fancy at all.
Definitely just a local place to hit up, chill, and do something low-key and not too expensive with a few friends.
Hahaha Mr Lucky's... Â Well, it sure is a pool hall! Â There is this one person, I use person because I'm not sure if it's a girl or guy, that makes my mister nervous. Â Hahaha. Â And that person is always there when we go. Â The ladies who work at the hall are cool, don't mess with them because there are plenty of people who will kick your @ss. Â It's pretty cool if you just want to shoot some pool without any drama.
Review Source:Small local pool hall with a dive bar kind of feel. There aren't too many tables but it's fairly cheap and the beer is decently priced for pitchers. The tables themselves are soso. Theres a mix crowd depending on the night you go. I see some nights where it's all emo type high schoolers and others when it's 40+ biker dudes.
