Came back yesterday.  No more toaster jam roll :-(. Boo hiss..  They did have age tofu but it was really really bad.  The roll was mediocre at best.  It's fallen sadly

I must say 1st off that I am not a sushi expert.  I have eaten it a handful of times.  My experience at Narita was fantastic though.  The server was very personable and continually joked with our dinner party.

The people that I was dining with placed the order.  We split a platter of about 6 different sushi rolls - mostly maki style, rolled in rice.  They were all very tasty and tasted fresh.  Some were spicy, some mild, but all delicious.

I am looking forward to my next visit to Plainfield so I can come back for more.

Awful.  Miso soup was overly salty.  Salad lacked flavor.  Sushi was not fresh.  While I recognize that fresh sushi in the midwest is asking a lot, I am able to get fresher sushi at other places in the region.  A la carte sushi items seriously overpriced.  Service was fairly attentive and friendly.

I'm probably spoiled because I live in LA....I ordered the seafood Udon and sent it back because it arrived at my table Luke warm,30 min to get it too.The shrimp and scallops were rubbery, not a lot of taste. Also this place has top end prices! I thought I was on Sunset Strip! My advice is pass on this place,Cruz into Indianapolis and you'll hopefully find something better!

I had a good time dining here while I was in town for a conference. Service was quick and sushi was decent for the Midwest. I had hot tea with the Arizona roll (OK), inside-out Philadelphia roll (delicious!), and the Shiro Tiger roll (also delicious!). My bill was about $30. The rolls each had 10 normal-sized pieces, so I naturally had leftovers. Usually I never eat leftover sushi because my stomach is sensitive, but this stuff was still good the next day!

Amazing Place!! The miso soup was great and the salad was even better! I don't know what type of salad dressing they use but it's amazing! The sushi was very fresh and tasted great. Having been to Japan, the sushi chefs at Narita are great! Will go back!!

Narita [noun]- excellent fresh sushi, great food, friendly staff, intimate atmosphere, slow service.

Favorite items- assorted nigiri, Jen & Bill roll, Moscow roll, chirashi bowl

We have been faithful Narita customers since they opened (both pre & post fire). In our experience, in both quality & flavor, it is the best sushi restaurant in the Indy metro area.

Here's the key--We plan our Narita visits on nights when we don't have to rush off to be somewhere. We go with the expectation that we are going to have plenty of time to talk about our workdays, discuss family gossip, or to finalize plans for upcoming adventures or home improvement projects. It's really lovely. Private booths, quiet restaurant, no dogs underfoot begging us for tastes of our raw fish...

While the service might be slow, the waitstaff, hostess/owner, & chefs are fabulous & friendly.  A good sushi restaurant recognizes & knows their repeat customers & we always feel like family when we walk in & they harass us that it's been too long since our last visit.

Give Narita a try.  Gather a couple of friends or that someone special...and cozy in for a good conversation while you wait for your delicious sushi to arrive.

Craving sushi after a long day of travel, and I happened to be staying next door to Narita.  Once again, I ignored the Yelp reviews and gave it a shot.  I was expecting lousy service, and instead got pretty good service.  My problem was with the prices and the food.  The sushi was expensive, and it really wasn't that great.

I don't remember all the names, but the roll with the cilantro and and jalapeno was the best of the bunch, but it wasn't in the $11.50 range.  The eel and avocado roll was average and relatively small (not much eel).  I ordered the blossom roll, because I love good scallop rolls, and in typical fashion, they were out of scallop.  He offered white tuna instead, and it didn't really matter, because this roll was bland.  The house salad has decent flavor, but it was very watery.  The killer was the sake.  My waitress recommended a medium, yeasty sake (never can get the names of sake) in a green bottle and was $10.25 for a small.  Stay away!  It was yeasty, milky, grainy, and tasted of bananas.  It was awful!  I really had a hard time drinking it.

I'm starting to get tough on reviews for sushi.  My recent trip to the west coast opened my eyes to the true potential of real sushi, and places like this just don't hold up.  I might have gone three stars if it weren't for the sake and high prices.

This was the worst dining experience I've ever had. With a reservation we still had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. No water was delivered to the table. The appetizers came out after the entries. Not all of the appetizers were delivered. We had food and no silverware. I talked to management and they did very little. Also they messed up both bills and it took two attempts to correct it. Of all of the sushi I've had this was worst.

One of my favorite sushi restaurant around Indy. Their sushi style are sophisticated (not simple / traditional) and 'flavorful;.  They use a lot of sauce. One of my favorite menu : Scotty Roll : cook on fire sushi..

Hoped Yelp was wrong, so I gave it a try. Walked in early on a Tuesday evening, just around 530. Since I was by myself, I asked to be seated at the Sushi bar, as I normally do when travelling alone for work. Surprisingly, the hostess (who turned out to be my waitress) said the Sushi bar was reserved. I rounded the corner, and a single customer sat at the bar.
I was about to turn around, but decided to give it a go. After getting a blank look while asking if they offered Omakase, the waitress brought the sushi chef out. He was not Japanese, but knew about Omakase, and said they did not offer that option.  I wanted to give them a chance, so I opted for a couple of orders of nigiri. The white tuna and hamachi were fresh and tasty, but I was a bit put off by the atmosphere, so I did not order anything else.
As I left, the sushi bar, and most of the restaurant was empty. I would recommend looking elsewhere for sushi in the Indianapolis area until they fix their service issues.

Went here late on a weekday night.  Right when we walk in, just like other reviewer, you need to get past the entrance decor.  Once you do it is a little gem inside.  Tasty food and inexpensive drink prices.  Loved their sake martini's.  Don't expect "fast food!!" It is a nice place to sit down and dine.  Go relax, eat, drink!

Service way too slow.  Don't go their for a quick meal!  Speaking to others around us that are regulars or have been there before, you can expect a wait for your food.

Wondering why the floor is solid granite throughout -- easier to hose it down?

The food is amazing..the vegetable spring rolls are some of the best I have had.,  As I sat enjoying a nice glass of wine and my spring rolls I was in awe of the floor.  The entire place has a granite floor.  It must of cost more than the whole building.
I know this is not your typical review topic, but if you are going to put that much money into something...beef up the entry way.  The sign sitting up against the entry desk and the lack of any welcoming touches leaves you wondering if you have entered into a place you want to stay.

Give it a chance and walk a little farther and suddenly it takes a turn for the better....wonderful private booths, with sides tall enough to offer you a feeling of eating in a quiet cove.

The servers are friendly just not speedy.  If you want quick or even normal time frames this is not where you will get it.  I have been here numerous times and it is not the service I go back for.  The food is the draw, which I guess is the essence of importance, but they could be a top notch, always busy, standing room only if they would just try a little harder on the "little things"

Amazing sushi! Their spring rolls are excellent as well. Overall, the food was great. They could work on a couple things:

    1. They need to work on their initial presentation at the door. Right inside the front door it looks very bare, almost neglected. The entire front area, from the entrance to the short hall leading to the main eating area smells like dead fish - not very reassuring at all when you're planning to have sushi. Once you're inside the restaurant the atmosphere is great - the place looks amazing!

    2. Service time - Even though the restaurant appeared to be fully staffed, it took forever to get any service. The restaurant was well under capacity - maybe slightly under half-full.

Overall it wasn't a bad experience though. I'd come here again.
