I just moved to Kingwood and tried Nico's for the first time a few weeks ago...I love the place ! The bartenders are AWESOME ( Sara , Angela , Christa ..Sorry i know there are others but dont know them being I only go between 4-7)  Great drinks and quick service with a smile. The food is also a plus ! Mike that does the cooking has put together a great selection of burgers,sandwiches,etc...The Pizza rocks ! If you want a great lunch ? Great , quick place ! They also have many t.v's to watch sports on as well as bands....Best place I have found in Kingwood by far !

I have been to Nico's before on one of their "busier" nights, didn't get the vibe I was looking for so decided to put that one away for rainy days.  This was about 8 months ago.
With all the rain yesterday, my husband and I decided to stop by as I had forgotten what it was that made me not care for this place so much.

    Oh yea.

Walking in, it felt like everyone turned around in the bar and stared. It was very awkward and off putting. Maybe because the crowd was mostly 45+, which I don't have a problem with but it seems they had one with my age. Making matters worse the lady bartender took both of my husbands and my license and stared at them for what seemed like forever. Like some hologram was going to pop out of my picture and scream FAKE ID!! Finally, she looked up at us (not to pleasantly I might add) and asked us what we would like.

There is a check in offer that says you can redeem a free second drink. Trying to escape the tension in the bar we decided to sit out on the patio area covered by an awning and watch the rain. We had a great time talking and drinking our first drinks. We walked back in to redeem our check in offer and the bartender stared at us for a second, telepathically relaying the message that said "Really?" She begrudgingly gave my husband another scotch that was half the size of his first one (I can kinda understand, it was free) and I paid for another Lonestar.

This is the kicker.. I gave her a $5 and she walked around the bar with the money taking care of other patrons. Once she got to the register she rung up the beer and I could clearly see the change due said $2.50. She walked back to me handed me $2 and walked away. Seriously? I saw the damn total in 72 pt Arial font behind you lady. I would have given her the $2.50 as a tip, which is what I intended to do. It's just 50 cents, it probably would have gotten lost in my washing machine if I kept it anyways but its the principle of it! THE PRINCIPLE!!

I have heard great things about the food and I fully intended to order some until all this went down. I smiled and bid the bar adieu and vowed I would return for a non-alcoholic lunch at some point. Maybe after another 8 months when I forget why I don't like this place.

Had time to kill while the ride was getting polished across
the street.   Friendly service and the patrons were giving
    compliments about their food orders.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while now so I dragged out the old "ball and chain" (I love you honey) on Saturday Night to see what the place was about.  From the reviews and reports we expected it to be fairly steady when we arrived around 7:15 p.m. but it was quite dead.  We had heard they had live music every Saturday night but the stage was empty.  Maybe we had the wrong place?  After asking Sara behind the bar, we were informed that the band didn't typically start until after 9:30 p.m. and perhaps after 10:00 p.m.  This was a bit disappointing because we had no idea if we would want to  stay that long without live music.

We ordered a couple of drinks and they came right away and were good.  Before we finished the first ones, we had to move.  The duct work from the A/C was directly above where we were sitting and it was sweating.  The sweat from this duct was dripping onto my wife.

The food is bar food but it is very good bar food.  The chips and salsa are homemade and the seasoned fries are fresh cut.  The burgers taste fresh and not frozen.  Even the buns were very fresh and tasty.  We couldn't have been more satisfied with the food.

The service was very good but it wasn't real busy.  It picked up a bit before we left around 9:00 p.m. but it was far from a full house.  The band was still setting up and looked like they were a good ways away from getting started so we decided to leave early.

One huge plus for us is that this is a non-smoking bar.  You can smoke on the patio which has fairly adequate seating.

Overall the experience was just OK but we would definitely like to come back when a band is actually playing.

thanks to fellow yelpers, i found a spot to nice lunch spot in kingwood.  i ordered the supreme pizza and it was fresh and delicious. it could've used a little more pizza sauce, but i liked that the peppers and mushrooms were fresh. my friend had an italian sandwich with some damn tasty sweet potato fries.  the ambiance was great as noted by my fellow yelpers, and it was pleasantly non-smokey. i'll for sure go back. you must try their sweet potato fries. omg. yum!

This place is fantastic.  Great people, delicious food and always a fun atmosphere.  Whether it is a quiet "night at the pub" or ready for getting out and dancing.  Nico's doesn't disappoint.  Angela is a fantastic bartender with a great personality and friendly smile.  She earns every dime she makes with extremely attentive service...make sure she's working when you go.

We're looking forward to many more visits to this outstanding neighborhood bar and restaurant.

The most fun found in Kingwood as far as I am concerned.  I've yet to see another place invest as much in entertainment throughout the whole week.  Also, ask for a menu the next time you are in.  Great salads, sandwiches and burgers.  I have tried them all and the prices are great!  My son loves their pizza, and yes it is family friendly early on.  They have a great happy hour from 4 to 8 as well.  Very nice to have a fun place so close to home.

What a find! Nico's is a great little neighborhood bar and grill that makes me wish I lived in that neighborhood. A friend was playing an acoustic set there last Tuesday night, and I drove in from Beaumont, about 80 miles away. It's a little far from home to be a regular hangout, but I do get over that way once or twice a month.

I'll definitely return to Nico's to visit with Kelly and Stephanie, the great team that was behind the bar. I also look forward to trying the food. Everything I saw come out of the kitchen looked wonderful, but I didn't know they had food, so I ate before I went. Next time, I'm trying a burger.

If you're in The Livable Forest, stop in some time. They're even open for lunch. I've even heard something about a Gospel Brunch. Check 'em out!
