Having grown up on Noodles & Co, I'm happy there's a location at least sort of near me. Â The prices have gone up over the years but so has everything else, I suppose.
I *always* have the Wisconsin mac and cheese. Â Sometimes I have it with the parmesan chicken and sometimes I don't. Â I have also enjoyed the stroganoff, the penne rosa, and the pasta cavatappi. Â A massive rice krispy treat is always a must.
They do takeout with ease, and will adjust any dish pretty much however you'd like. Â I also like the huge square bowls for a party or what Hoosiers call a "carry-in" (I'd never heard this before living here but I've started saying it myself because whenever I say "potluck" everyone looks at my like I have a third eye).
This location is pretty much as good as any others I've been to in Wisconsin, Illinois, California and Colorado. Â Consistently fresh and good.
The Bangkok Curry w/shrimp was delicious, and I would have been willing to pay significantly more than $7.75 for the dish. Â The ingredients seemed fresh, and it was not overwhelmed by the seasonings.
The Chicken Caesar Duo is also a good choice, but the Tamato Basil Soup is not so great.
This is a nice casual place to order and sit down, and the beer & wine options are a plus. Â I will be back.
We've had good experiences with this chain on the north side, but hit or miss ones at this location. However, what I saw this week made me think a little bit more positively of them. The Plainfield store seems a bit more community minded, and they were holding two benefits this week for the PHS band boosters and the Sheltering Wings women's shelter out in Danville. Usually you only see this sort of thing at a Chick Fil A or maybe next door at Culvers, but I wasn't expecting to see this here. I'm planning on going back on Friday for one of these benefits.
Japanese Pan Noodles are what I always order here. They're good with hot sauce. My wife gets the cavatappi with parmesan-seared chicken. I'm not a pesto fan, but she loves it. Good service, good food, but an excellent member of the community.
Great place for a quick meal. Â It's nice that the food is brought to you, and you don't have to clean up with messy trays and such. Â Also cool, since you don't have to get it with meat if you don't feel like it. Â I usually order the regular portion, so I can take home leftovers. Â (If there's any). Â
Here are the entrees I usually get / have gotten from favorite to least: Â
1) Japanese Pan Noodles...They're just soo good! Â I love all the veggies in it. Â I find the udon noodles to be very unique in this dish. Â
2) Pad Thai...It tastes better than most of the Pad Thai found in restaurants.
3) Pesto Cavatappi...Best Mediterranean dish on the menu.
4) Penne Rosa...ehhh
5) Indonesian Peanut Saute...I'm not a huge fan, since it tastes like peanut butter.
6) Macaroni & Cheese...Not worth all the calories.
7) Mushroom Stroganoff... So bland! Â I had to add table salt. Â
As a side-note, all the meats are of pretty decent quality. Â It just depends on what mood your in. Â Sometimes, I forgo the meat and get pot-stickers to share instead. Â
Don't forget to get a Rice Krispy Treat! Â They're soo oooeey and goooeey.
A chain of noodles. Â The first time I had Noodles and Company was in Denver. Â I think. Â Wait, maybe it was another noodle place and I'm getting confused...anyways, the concept, though not especially original is pretty smart in terms of a high-profit, low effort operation. Â It's also tasty when you don't feel like cooking or waiting at a dump like the Olive Garden. Â
Noodles and Co has three different menus all with meat and vegetarian options...actually everything is pretty much vegetarian and you pay extra on top of the base offering for the protein (chicken, steak or tofu) and each menu has a soup. Â You can choose from American, Italian and Asian depending on your tastes and there are cookies and huge rice cripsy treats as dessert options.
Everything I've had has been pretty decent and the service has been good each time I've been. Â It's not gourmet by any means, but it's a good reprieve from the expensive or do-it-yourself options out there...
