This place used to be one in a chain of "Point" bars around Dallas. Some are still there but most are gone. The NW Point has remained closer to the original concept than the remaining others.
This place is an off-the-beaten path dive. It's in a seedy area but not so bad you should avoid it. The burgers are absolutely legendary. The flat fries (thick, fried potato chips) are great. The drinks are reasonably priced. I eat lunch there every once in a while and it's amusing listening to all the day drunks solve the world's problems between their 9th and 10th drinks. This is primarily an old-man bar, the hip young urban-ites definitely don't hangout here.
The NW Point is a good place when you don't want to be seen. Sometimes that's a good thing...
