Great neighborhood place! Â Food is really good and portions are large. Â Perhaps a little pricey.... for example, I ordered a couple of glasses of wine from the "featured" wine card on the table, which usually means you are getting a pretty good wine for a reasonable price. Â When we got the bill, I was surprised that the wine was higher priced than many other by-the-glass pours on the menu. Â Guess we'll stick to beer. Â If you go, definitely try the Irish spring rolls and the Irish crisps (Irish nachos)!!! Yummy!!
Review Source:My wife and I went to O'Brian's for dinner on a Thursday evening. Â The wait staff were pleasant and attentive and the menu offered a nice selection.
We both ordered fish tacos (blackened) with the side salad. Â My wife asked for light seasoning and I asked for regular seasoning.
When the meals were served I believe that the waitress switched our plates - my fish was mild whereas my wife's was very spicy. Â My salad w/ dressing had an odd, tinny taste that was not especially appetizing. Â The fish tacos were quite good although the portion size was very small (2 small tacos) for $10. Â I felt like I had eaten an appetizer and was still hungry after downing the tiny tacos.
It may be that some of the other menu items would be appropriate dinner fare but I was certainly not overwhelmed by this visit. Â My wife says that she'd give O'Brians another try - we'll see.
I'm not a huge fan of restaurants that serve skimpy portions, although, the food was tasty.
Visited 3 weeks ago at approximately 5PM on a weekday. There were 4 of us at the table having an early dinner. There were roughly 3 other tables with patrons, and 2 people at the bar. Our server was very impatient and hurried, we guess because of an imminent shift change. Anyway the draft beers we ordered were all cold and tasted as they should. The food quality however was less than average...3 flatbreads were all soggy and not as hot as they should be. The 4th person in our group had the reuben and fries which was a good choice. Overall we felt that the kitchen needed some more experience, and that it would be a good options for drinks sans dinner. We left a message for the manager a day later expressing our dissatisfaction and it went unanswered. Hope they improve as it is conveniently located for us...
Review Source:From what I can remember, I had a gay old time here. Â
It may have helped that giant mugs of Blue Moon were on special for five bucks. Â
And that the bartender was whipping up White Gummy Bears.
I *do* remember not being overly impressed by the food...skewers and dips and various other sundries.
Walking distance to a pub is a good thing for this neighborhood. Hopefully it is well supported and it seems like its off to a decent start. Friendly staff. Solid pub menu and bar. Good pub decor. There's some seating outside that's covered and arranged nicely and probably will be pleasant when its not over 90 out. Its open for lunch now and it seems like its attracting a good crowd at dinner. Food service was fairly quick. Their own chips made fresh accompanied my fish tacos for lunch. And I found money walking home from the place so that's obviously a good sign. Will have to visit at night for a pint.
