Off the Hookah

RACIST RACIST RACIST AGANIST AFRICAN AMERICANS!! I traveled all the way from Atlanta GA for a surprised Birthday Party. My companion and I ( 54 YEARS OLD) was turned around for a tigher print shirt and I had on leggins. Once we walked to our cars we notice 2 white women approaching the club in a Zebra print blouse and her friend in white leggins. Both white women were let in the club!!! RACIST!!!!!
DO NOT GO TO THIS CLUB AND SUPPORT THIS RACIST ENVIRONMENT! To make matters worst it was the same day Zimmerman was pronouncedd innocent!!! SMH!!!

Oh man this place is interesting.

So this essentially is one of the only "big" clubs in Richmond now.

It has 2 levels. Bottom floor is salsa and latin music. A bit less crowded, and heavily populated by the hispanic population. I REALLY enjoyed that it wasn't crowded and was a reprieve from the clutter on the main floor. There were also tons of seats and a non-crowded bar.

The main/entry floor was weird.
It's too cluttered, and the girls I went with constantly felt creeped on by all the dudes there. So many dudes. Everyone seemed to be having a good time though.
- The dance floor is poorly designed, there are essentially two areas separated by a tiny little corridor which all the sweaty people have to slide by to get through to the bathroom and stuff. Awkward.
-Demographic is all over the place here... which is great but weird at the same time.
- VIP section seemed dumb. Not sure why you would get it here. Essentially it's just areas with  rope sectioned up one step with a few chairs. Would not pay for this.

As for music... they essentially spun top 40 hip-hop... and then random house tracks... and then some dubstep? It didn't make any sense and was kind of all over the place? It would go from lil' jon and shots shots shots shots to Kaskade. What? Also the DJ poorly matched beats. Dislike. I would not spin dubstep at a non-dubstep concert. I don't think people can even dance to that.

The guy in the mens bathroom was constantly griping for tips. Screw that. Needs to expect nothing and be grateful to get my money for flipping the water switch.

Would give this place 2/5 stars but I like that you can get a hookah and smoke it at the bar and I really enjoyed the vibe downstairs. +1 = 3/5 overall

tl;dr - not bad

Richmond finally has a decent trashy club, Hallelujah! I went to Off the Hookah with a date who wanted to dance and had been there before. I used the valet which was pretty convenient and was I think 5 bucks. It was close to 1230 or 1 and we got through the doors fairly easy. The inside of the club was packed and the bar was as well. My dates drink was alright and the music was loud but hey they actually made an effort with an appropriate sized dance floor. The inside was packed with scandalously clad women of varying appeal, go go dancers, halter tops, and plenty of drunk looking spectacles (the only reason to be sober in a club). We danced till last call and when it was time to go we hit the door and my car was there in less than 15. A great night all told.

This place is a trip and if you havent been you definitely need to. The inside is decorated like the inside of a Pharaoh's dorm room with cheap Ikea sarcophogi, sphinx, and plush velvet couches at Ra know's what price per night. Still though the DJ was good that night and for Richmond this place is a god send after the travesty of Have a nice day. It's safe, they have decent security, plenty of good looking women
(alot of them single) and the booze isnt watered down although I don't know how bad they charge for it. If you're looking for a night out with a girl or guy and want to see if he or she can dance better than half of Richmond, hit this place up.
