Old Towne Pub

We love everything about OTP! Great menu variety and very reasonable prices! Very clean establishment with excellent service!

I went there last week and found out they have sweet potato tator tots! One of the best things I have ever eaten. They go great with the grilled wings. The service was awesome and quick even during the busy lunch hour.

Giving this a strong 4 stars because this place stays true to it's naming of a 'Pub'. I'm a stickler for if you are going to call yourself something, then be that something and do it well. If you are a Steak House, then serve mostly Steak and do it damn well.. otherwise you are just a restaurant. So that's part of my 4 star rating here.. they are a Pub and they do that VERY well...

I dined here as a last minute decision being crunched for time and needing to stay in the area to pick my kids up from school. I had planned on dining in town as my brother was visiting for just a short period of time. He was running late and leaving just a small window of opportunity we went here. I have passed this place numerous times on my way up and down La Fox. It's tucked back in a small complex of mixed use businesses - Dry Cleaner, Subway, Hair Salon, Take out Thai Food and a few other places (doctor, dentist etc.).. It's not a 'strip mall' per Se but a little multi purpose complex (lack of better word for 'nicer' strip mall).

It's usually quite busy in the evening and on the weekends by the number of cars in the parking lot. However, this afternoon, late (1:30) in the middle of the week it was quite quiet. The minute I walked in I knew what this place was - a Pub , as it stated in it's name - so One star earned there :).. It was a seat yourself day with tables plentiful - Lot's of space around and between them , a nice big bar and very clean open spaces. (two stars :))) We chose a table in the semi outdoor screened in area. My Pet peeve about clean tables was happily not a problem as we the table, chairs and floors were spotless - as were the items on the table. I hate picking up a greasy table menu or feeling sticky.. thankfully not a problem here (going to try a busy time to compare though).. The place was scattered with business people, moms out to lunch with Toddlers, moms out after obviously working out, friends having a drink at the bar - and my brother and I grabbing a quick bite. We were greeted quickly - within two minutes of sitting down - promptly offered information and asked if we had been there before. Friendly , prompt , informative service - another Star :)))) We both ordered unsweet tea and the split the special .40 cent wing appetizer (minimum 10) . We both felt the tea was really good - you can taste the tea and not just 'brown water' as most places serve.. Kudos's for this. The wings arrived piping hot , with just the right amount of sauce and spice - and plentiful veggies and dip to go with.

The menu was typical pub food , Lot's of options, fair prices, good side item choices and overall a well thought out pub fare menu. I ordered a Turkey Club, no Mayo, on Wheat with a Side of Guacamole and Cole Slaw. My brother ordered the Sausage Sandwich and fries.

The food arrived with just the right amount of timing between the starter and the meal. Here is where this place earned it's 4th star.. The food, it was Pub food done VERY well. My club sandwich had fresh, ripe veggies, thick sliced roasted turkey on a nicely toasted bread. The guac was tasty , and the slaw very fresh tasting. This was a large portion of well prepared pub fare. My brother's sandwich took up half his plate. It was well cooked and he said it was a great sandwich - the fries were crispy and just the right portion. Neither of us could finish our plates and we were promptly offered boxes. Our plates were cleared quickly and we were attended to exceptionally well to the end of the visit.

I look forward to taking my family to this place for the Sunday burger Special or the Kids meal specials. I'd feel comfortable dining here with friends, family, toddler's, or 90 year old Grandparent's. I'd come to watch a game, grab a quick beer or lunch and feel comfortable doing so. I love a place that 'is what it is' and doesn't try to hard to do it right... I'll be back for sure ..
