I'm sure why people are complaining- this place is not amazing. The following is an account of visiting Omar's around 10pm on a Saturday night.

    ATMOSPHERE:
I've been to many hookah bars, and not many make you wait behind a rope while the two servers choose one of the ten open tables to seat you at. This took much longer than it should have.

    PRICE:
The menu does not fully disclose the pricing scheme for BYOB alcohol.

    SERVICE:
By far the worst part. The two servers running around were clearly incompetent to handle the approximately 16 patrons in the building. The waitress became very irritated when we disputed the lack of BYOB pricing disclosure, and when we asked to speak to the manager, she said he was not present and did not want to wake him with a phone call. The inmates are running the asylum.

I came here a few weeks ago with my bf and couldn't believe how awful this place was in comparison to the other hookah bars we've been to.  First, the booths against the wall on the first floor are incredibly uncomfortable and the music was early 90s slow dancing slow songs.

Next we ordered a hookah and they charge per person rather than per hookah and worst of all, it came broken! Instead of giving us a new one, the girl-without using a mouthpiece- puts her mouth all over the hookah to " test it out" and doesn't even bother wiping it down!! She claimed it was fine and we gave her the benefit of the doubt but when the basin didn't even turn opaque we notified the waitress.  They finally gave us a new hookah but just took the old tobacco and coal and placed it in the new hookah so the tobacco was pretty much burnt up at this point.  We tried another coal but when that didn't work we asked for new tobacco and a new coal but they  told us that there is a limit of 2 coals. Also the hookahs don't have check valves for the hoses and so when you smoke the other person has to remember to cover their mouthpiece.

Frustrated, we asked to speak to a manager but the only workers there were kids in a creepy children of the corn kinda way.  They told us that this rarely happens  that the hookah doesn't work but that's no excuse! This place needs to be managed by an adult rather than kids just hanging out smoking hookah during their shifts!

Honestly, a friend and I came in here and ended up running away before the waitress could come to take our order. It was sterile and uninviting. The server told us we could sit "anywhere along that wall" against which stood only one empty table which was also uncomfortable and cafeteria-like. No mention was made by her of the supposedly lovely upstairs space I've heard so much tell of--we were simply ordered to sit at an uncomfortable table and wait.

After a while, a server came by and went over the menu with us and it turned out the place was out of an unbelievable number of shisha flavors including all but one (!!!) of the twenty-something items listed under their premium selections. The place just seemed run-down, not properly managed, and like whoever owned it did not care about making people comfortable and was more interested in milking Main Line kids for all they're worth. But frankly, my friend and I are both too old for that b.s., so out we went.

I think having to swipe our IDs also put a bad taste in our mouths and tipped us off from the get-go that this was not really our scene. If you have the option to get off the Main Line to enjoy a relaxing hookah, then by all means do as we did and run, not walk, away from Omar's and towards one of Philly's hookah establishments that value their clients' business.
