How can you not like the Oreland Inn?
Yep, no craft or boutique beers on draft here. I think they have HalfMoon or something. Oh my God ! People actually SMOKE in here. It's a real Sports bar without the big screen pretensions & fake memoriablia of expensive suburban joints. It's not a dive either. What it is is a good old fashioned neighborhood taproom! A place to grab a beer & a bite without breaking the bank.. You don't have to be from the Oreland hood either. All the bartender's are nice.the food's not haute cuisine but it's reasonably priced & solid bar fare. The Chili is legendary. You like it or you don't . I like it! cheap & filling. Had a turkey hoagie the other week that was pretty
good.I couldn't quibble about the price. The Oreland inn attracts both young & old. Yeah, they tried to fu- fu the place up a little. Put seating & a tv outside'. This is the kind of place that used to be everywhere.Nowadays every one's trying to make their joint more upscale. The Oreland Inn is a real bar in a world that doesn't have them anymore! A fun place to watch a game or pop in after work or just hang out! Reasonable prices on food & drink! C'mon let's drink the old fashioned way!
I don't get it.
Looks great from the outside.
Nice patio with Big Screen.
Always seems crowded.
But, then I walked in. Full of regulars who look like they haven't left since they arrived in '82. No real beer selection to speak of, unless you consider Yeungling an import. I didn't see any indication they sold food except for the bags of peanuts behind the bar.
