If you live or visiting the SW corridor of Florida and looking for any special and imported Italian product  this is the place!!
Although, it can be hard to find from Sarasota or Naples, it is worth the travel for it because you can not compare to the items Paesano's has in stock to any other small European market place anywhere on the left coast of Florida.
I traveled nearly 100 miles to Cape Coral from Sarasota because they had a rare imported Italian cheese called " L'Incanestrato di Castel del Monte." (sharp sheep's' milk cheese), Â when I'm there I stock up and usually buy their imported cold cuts and pastas you can't find in a Publix or Winn Dixie. Not to mention, their prices are better than what you are used to from local markets on pasta, breads, and sauces.
The deli offers many choices from pastries to cold cuts even to imported olives. Â
Since the last time I bought a pound of Prosciutto di Parma, hands down, this place is between $1.50 - $3.00 cheaper than any other market or super store that I bought from, that is, if I even found very same *name brand and type of ciutto!
Check out their cheeses, meats and wine selections too.
Also have to mention they have an Outdoor Patio Cafe, Â "la trattoria al fresco" just like being in Italy, seating is in an authentic Italian piazza setting.
I tried their fried calamari as an appetizer then had the Chicago Italian beef sandwich, it was all good! Â
Their menu offers many hot and cold sandwiches, pizza, and other awesome entrees.
This use to be a favorite for lunch, but 2 yrs in a row the service has gotten worse. Â Today ordered drinks, waited forever for them. Â When food came no fries, got them halfway thru our sandwich - not acceptable. Â Plus very greasy today. Â Waitress brought bill & we looked at it, evidently she hadn't, it was double of what it should have been (nearly $50. for 2 sandwiches????. Â She seemed offended when we pointed it out to her. Â No apology or what. Â Then I guess she didn't even have the nerve to bring our correct bill, sent another waitress who slammed it down on table with no comment. Â Will never go back. Â Will go to store, but never restaurant.
Review Source:Although the food is good, I will not patronize Paesano's market because of the discriminatory actions of the white-haired checkout "lady" who is always there. She hassles people with EBT (foodstamps), and told a disabled friend of mine that this was "free food". I told he that she could have "free food" too, if she would like to accept a permanent disability as well. This is rude, discriminatory and illegal, and many people I know locally also have problems with her.
Review Source:Mediocre food, terrible service in store. Â Not sure that I wil go back or recommend it to anyone. Â Wait staff in restaurant was cheerful, friendly and helpful. Â In the store, a bunch of sourpuss. Â Courtesy is a must for my even thinking about going to an establishment. Â So long Paesano's. Â First time customer and you did not win me over.
Review Source:This is a fabulous Italian market. It's just off Cape Coral Parkway, near the Dunkin Donuts, & it is certainly the best in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area. It has everything you could want from wine to cheese and everything Italian in between! Worth a special trip, and then you'll be a believer.
