I'm not sure if this is the Papa John's we ordered from, but what difference does it make? Â It's a chain. Â This pizza is garbage. Â It was without a doubt the worst pizza I've ever had. Â We only ordered it because my wife knows the sight of Papa John's twitching face on his commercials irritates the crap out of me and she wanted to rub it in. Â Well, the joke was on all of us that day. Â Overpriced, disgusting pizza was to be had by all. Â Simply put, the pizza was extremely uninspired, plain, cold, tough & chewy, and overall just friggin' gross. Â I would sooner eat goose crap than this garbage. Â How does this chain stay open in the city with the best pizza in the USA?? Â What's wrong with people??
Papa's in the house? Â Not my house.
Never had a chance to try the pizza as I was trying to use a coupon I got in the mail and the girl on the phone knew nothing of the promo as she was all confused and said it must be for  the web site only, After reading all the small print on the coupons there is no mention of the web site on the coupon other than to win awards. So I just called Vince's.
Review Source:Well, Papa John's had their Super Bowl deal where if Americans picked the result of the coin toss correctly at the Super Bowl they'd give all their rewards members nationwide a free large 1 item pizza and a 2 liter Pepsi. Â I'd never had Papa John's, but figured what the heck I have nothing to lose so I joined their rewards club and was surprised to find out me and everybody else was actually getting a free pizza and Pepsi!
Today I ordered my carry out order for a large 1 item pizza and a 2 liter Pepsi and sure enough the total was FREE which was a very good thing. Â Another point in their favor was the pizza was ready when I arrived to pick it up. Â The final good point was that the young lady working behind the counter was very friendly and professional even though it would have been easy for her to relax the standards for an order that was not making the company a single penny on that visit.
Unfortunately, the flavor of the pizza left me being thankful that it was a freebie and that I hadn't had to pay for it. Â It just really lacked flavor in general and the only part that really seemed to have much flavor was the beef.
I am thankful for the chance to try their product at no charge, but I just can't feel right giving them higher than a 2 star rating. Â If I'm in that area and very hungry maybe I'll try them again at some point in the future, but I'd have to be real hungry. Â If I do retry them and have a better taste experience then I will write another review with the appropriate new rating. Â Thanks for the chance to try your pizza at no charge.
The place is fast whether you order on-line, in-store, or through the phone and the projected pickup time is always accurate, never had to wait longer then they told me.
The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because of the parking lot. The area it's located in is at the Brickyard Mall, and however it is a big mall, they decided to designate 2-3 handicap spots right in front of the entrance.  Now to the side of those handicap spots are 1-2 spots, and then a curb, so there really is no parking when you go to pick up your food. It seems like Brickyard could put those handicap spots in a better location then right in front of a Papa Johns.
Papa Johns in Chicago? Â I thought they were all closed down..I guess I was mistaken. Â
My sister had brought over a pie and a few goodies. Â Better ingredients, better pizza...not necessarily. Â She ordered 'The Works'. Â We thought about it and concluded we didnt fully enjoy it because it wasnt greasy enough. hahah..yes my family are fatties (at heart, not by appearance). Â I dont know how they do it but my pizza wasnt shiny. Â You know how those healthy idiots pat down their slices with a napkins? Â Thats what my slice looked like..except there was no napkin in sight.
So why no one star you say? Â Didnt I mention my sister brought a pie and some goodies? Â Garlic Parm breadsticks!?!? Cheesesticks!?!?
Garlic Parm is already a favorite of mine...but these sticks. Â They were SWIMMING in garlic butter!!!! Â But they were still crispy and topped with parm goodness. Â So thats where the grease on my pizza went.
Afterwards..my sister had told me she only goes there for the sides. Â Which makes total sense. Â Papa John sides are welcome in my food trap anytime.
Even though I love the pizza, I dislike the people that work in this location! They are some rude ass uneducated jerks! They can hardly speak English and don't kow how to count money without the help of the cash register. I will not go to this place unless it was the last Papa Johns on Earth.
Review Source:I know I know... It's a chain, how good can it be?
I am a bread lover and the dough that is used for these pizzas is fantastic. It reminds me of sweet yeast rolls from Quincy's or Ryan's (family style buffet chain restaurants). The only grease on the crust if from where the cheese grease dripped down after the pie gets cut.
I order plain breadsticks to fill with cheese from the pizza slices. YUM. They have great online deals if you order online. I live 3 miles away from this location. I placed my order for 2 pizzas and 1 order breadsticks online. I immediately checked my e-mail to confirm. I got in my car and headed over. When I was pulling into the shopping center they gave me a courtesy call to let me know my food was coming out of the oven. I walked in, took the boxes and went home. The whole transaction took 15 minutes. It took me longer to figure out what I wanted to order.
BTW I love the white pizza.
The crust and breadsticks are fluffy and flaky (very similar to a fresh croissant). It smells like sugar and yeast.
