It's a big bar with average to maybe a bit above average food and some decent drink selections. Not really my typical scene but it is an ok place. I have only been on off nights but I prefer less crowd anyway so I would probably enjoy it less when it was busy. The service has been hit or miss, as I have been in here a couple of times.
Pros: okay draught selection, fun bar games, tons of seating at the bar
Cons: it was really empty on a Saturday night
I stopped in to Peppers after a party nearby, and was surprised to see this place nearly deserted on a Saturday night (think 11ish?). Â Oh well, this did not deter us from popping up on the bar stools that surround their huge bar. Â The seats were super comfortable, and we had a great view of all the TVs. Â We didn't try any mixed drinks of food (we must come back for this!), but they had some good specials listed that we took advtanage of. Â All in all, we had very friendly service. Â I'm not sure why more people weren't here!
Come check us out again. New staff and time issues have been resolved. Half priced wines on Wednesday for ladies night with DJ Alex B and Karaoke Tuesday and Thursday nights, DJ's or bands every weekend too.
Also staff is being trained on beers and our rotating selections are getting better. Thanks everyone. We continue to remedy all issues.
Upon first entering, we considered turning around. Â The overall feel is not very welcoming. Â It had dive bar feel, but we stuck it out. Â The service was okay, and the burgers were good. The burgers were filled with the toppings, unexpected and not explained by our server, but a nice touch. Â The beer list was actually disappointing filled with domestics and big name companies with few spots reserved for the craft beers. Â The server also seemed to have no knowledge of what types of beers the craft brews were so it was try at your own risk. Â It's not a destination point but I would probably return.
Review Source:It's an average bar. Nothing to write home about. It's simple straight, forward: drinks and bar food. And as if the menu wasn't enough of an indication of this, the numerous amount of noisy electronic games, TVs blaring the latest game, and smoggy atmosphere will bring it home. It wouldn't be my regular hang out since I enjoy conversation with my drinks but in a pinch it will do.
Review Source:Met up with some friends last night for a birthday party. It's their regular hangout, but I've only been one other time, on St. Patrick's Day a few years ago. I remember having fun... there was a band and a heated tent in the beer garden.
This time around, I was pretty impressed by the food... the tenderloins were huge and looked homemade. The burgers were stuffed with cheese and looked tasty as well. The queso with chips I ordered was spicy and good, but the cheese's consistency made me wonder if it hadn't been sitting under heat lamps for a while.
Not a huge beer selection, although they did have Bell's Two Hearted on tap for my beer snob. I loved the Peppers Potion (I think that's what it was called) - tasted just like a melted grape popsicle! It was kind of expensive ($7.50) for the atmosphere, so I only ordered one.
Our server was on it. You don't really expect that kind of service at a sports bar from a cocktail server, but she was doing a great job checking back and bringing us whatever we needed. Our bill was also split properly, a rarity when you have it split five or six ways.
The only real complaint I have is that it was REALLY smoky. Not necessarily the bar's fault, but we left smelling more like an ashtray than usual.
Three stars mainly because it's a sports bar and I just can't make myself get too excited about those.
