    Dive bar.
    Fun times.
I don't feel like I have to prove anything.
    Close to home.
What else do you need if you want a drink?

My sister had her going away party here and being raised as a "City girl", I am very skeptical about how "crackin" an East Bay establishment can be, I must say that everyone with me indeed had a good time (but they're from Richmond anyway so they could probably have a good time at a 7-11 parking lot with a bottle of Henn, no offense, lol) But overall, it was OK.

There's dancing on the dance floor, and singing because this is a karaoke bar... but not your mama's karaoke bar. Everyone that sang was really good and it sort of intimidated everyone, or it actually encouraged everyone to participate because there would be random strangers dancing while others were singing. Music was radio jams/top 40's karaoke.

Drinks were kinda pricey for Richmond. Also, you can bring food? I'm not sure if that's how Richmond rolls or if you have to tell them in advance but our group brought in large dishes of Popeye's chicken, fried rice, chow mein, cake, etc...  Food in a bar? Um okay. But at least I wasn't hungry. I aint gonna lie. I ate it.

There's no dress code at all but the crowd is kinda sketchy. It's located in the middle of some abandoned plaza next to a liquor store. There were a few people that were rude and bumped into me and I'm pregnant HELLOOOOO.

The MC was this older lady named Joy who can also rap. In her words... "whaaaat, you knnoooow about thaaat..."

We came here to listen to my girlfriend's husband's most excellent cover band on a Friday evening. This place is a true melting pot. Everyone is super friendly and basically there to listen to the music, dance, shoot a game of pool, and have fun. Granted, some had a little more fun than others, but overall a truly happy place.

Cannot speak to karaoke nights, but Pete's Place is definitely loud with a live band playing!

Well what can I say about this place it's definitely diverse and the people here are friendly. Seems to be really popular for the karaoke. Sang a few songs had a few drinks they were strong and cheap too yay! Had a great time with my girlies for our girls night out. If I am in the area I would probably check the place out again.

I started coming here a few years back on an invite by Joy, who does "Sing With Joy" karaoke at Pete's on Thursday and Saturday nights. They were having a karaoke contest, and I was persuaded to enter. I don't think I would have ever come here otherwise. Dive bars usually are not my scene.
This "dive bar" eventually turned into a favorite place of mine-especially after Karaoke was stopped at my regular spot. Joy is AMAZING! She has every song, from every genre, and every time period that you could ever want to sing! Her song list goes on and on and on! If you become a regular, and you request that she get a particular song for you, often times she will. This is not your average karaoke night. People will actually get up and full on dance to people's songs. Sometimes it feels like a dance club. Joy does great also, with staying current on popular urban line dances, and will take breaks from Karaoke a few times throughout the night to get people out on the floor.
NOC is the DJ that does Friday nights. He is off the hook and will keep you dancing until closing. We liked him so much, in fact, that he ended up being the DJ we selected for our wedding!
The drinks are fine, sometimes the bar gets warm, so shelf shots are kind of warm, and don't go down easily. Prices are average.
The Bartenders are fantastic-Mostly Becca and Cathy!
There is a good mix of people here...young, old, and all races. All together a good place to have a good time and hang out. Occasionally lately though, there has been fights etc...Whenever the place gets a little bit too jumpin' and there are a few too many different groups of people, there are bound to be some who just can't get along. These are usually the times where we just leave. We are there to have a good time. No drama. I think they need more security, other than that, mostly a great place to hang out.

....for the record, the 5 stars are for Joy, NOC, Cathy, and Becca-not just the bar in general.

2nd time here, and it was Karaoke night, came here to grab a few drinks and hang out with some friends.  Small little local bar, huge selection of songs to sing the night away.  I ordered a Long Island, ($5) .. super strong.. not bad at all.  Separate bathrooms (women and men).  2 Stalls.  The guy behind the bar was nice and friendly.  The drink prices were not bad at all esp on a Saturday night.  The ambiance was a typical small local bar..i don't know how to explain that.. but you guys know when it's a local bar. LOL.  It's really a good place to come and grab a drink or two with good company.

Who would've thought this place was crackin. I went for the first time for my boy's 35th birthday, it wasn't anything like what I expected. I had a great time. The drinks were pretty good. I didnt sing karaoke but I the ones that did sing were quite entertaining. Most sang incredibly well and people were getting down. This place had a huge selection of music esp new music which was a plus. Staff was very friendly...I'll definitely be back.

For some reason the bartenders never know how to make sex on the beach, isn't that a normal chick drink or what? The bartender had to look in the "black book" which I already own and the drink still sucked. I don't care for it to much probably because I didn't grow up in the area therefor don't know everyone who walks through the door.

Pete's Place is great. We were stumped trying to find a karaoke bar in the East Bay on a Saturday night. Pete's Place has karaoke on Fri. AND Saturday nights, and if you go before 10 pm, you stand a good chance of getting to sing at least two or three times before the place fills up. Song selection is top notch. When the crowd gets going, you can dance your heart out on the little dance floor, too.

The songbird/KJ is the best karaoke DJ ever. She clearly enjoys what she's doing and is cheerful and supportive to boot. As the night wore on, she played like songs together, which was really good for dancing/keeping the energy up. Yes, it's free, but if any KJ deserves tips, it's this one. She's what makes this a good karaoke bar.

And you've just gotta love a place where the KJ, a white woman in her forties, and her African-American friend sing "Secret Lovers" together. Everything from country to motown to hip hop to ballads was sung by a crowd as diverse as the song selection. It was so much fun!

Crowd did get reeeallly drunk and rowdy by midnight, and as an all-girl group we definitely had to fight off some obnoxious guys. But it's a bar, after all, so that just comes with the territory.

Pete's Place is the best place in Pinole to get a cheap drink and have good fun on Saturday nights! If you like Karoake then this is the place for you. Joy is the best DJ! She always has the latest and greatest jams that are out and the tired and true classics that everyone wants to sing! There is no cover, no drink minimum, and no charge for each song.

Hands down the best bar in Pinole. The atmosphere is great with that dive bar charm while the "regulars" do their business the karaoke mafia does theirs on Thurs and Saturdays. I usually go to get a few chuckles out of the singers, while tossing down cheap beers and good tequila. If swank is more your style, then come @ 5:30 on Thurs for some of the lingerie runway models. THIS PLACE HAS IT ALL. Every major sports events are shown on one of the 4 TVs, and the bartenders are great. You are guaranteed a story every time you leave this place, whether it be the guy who throws up outside or the older Cougar women that hunt down the younger dudes, the Craiglist whores or the guy with his shorts so short that his balls are hanging out. By far the best bar in the area, and i suggest everyone come.

Where everybody knows your name! Its really hard to say anything that hasn't been said. Karaoke on Saturday night is the best. Joy has got almost anything you could want to sing. Its a really fun group of people that go down there and you never know you're going to meet there either ; )..... Plus I get to get up on stage and have all eyes on me.... (and who doesn't want that!)

I was going to give it 4 stars because of all the old people that show up but that's what makes it 5 stars man!  You think people are funny when they are drunk.  No way!  Drunk old people are far funnier that you can imagine.  I started coming on Saturday night's months ago for the Karaoke.  Joy is the coolest DJ ever!  Plus, it's free.  Yes that's right.  No $1-a song bull.  She has an amazing selection of songs & she keeps them pretty current.  I don't even drink everytime.  So I'm thinking I found a pretty fun place for when my Saturday nights are empty & I was content.  Then I became absolutely tickled at the people who come in & get way more sauced than is good for them.  These people hold nothing back.  It's like watching a live talk show where the guests are liable to do just about ANYTHING.  I never have more fun than when I am ear hustling in on someone's innappropriate conversations or just flat out watching what's about to go down because so & so is too drunk to notice me all up in their business or laughing & pointing.  Karaoke is suppose to be funny but boy howdee is it ever when someone really thinks they can sing.  Whoooooo!  Good Times (wipes away laughing tears)  & on top of all that, I still get to sing some awesome songs & have endless tales of debauchery for work on Monday.
