I went to this place with a friend for the first time today and I'm already home!! :( Â I went because of the ratings on yelp.
The music was great. A variety of genres I did dance. The people here are def an older older crowd and the A/C was broken which made is really hot and humid inside. That being said I would give it another try if its just to hang out with friends and if the A/C was working.
It's a nice little hideaway dive bar in the heart of Reseda. Â They have karaoke on various nights as well as live bands. Â The bartenders are really nice and help you get your drink on at pretty reasonable prices! Â The bar is pretty big so it never feels like its too crowded. Â Definitely a place to bring your friends!
Review Source:Came here for the first time last night, and my experience there was good. I got to hang out with lots of cool people and my friends....the staff was great and the booze was relatively cheap...the negative was that they had 4 bands play through a rinky dink PA system and the sound there sucked and it is a little out of the way for me, it was over a 100 miles to the place just 1 way, so I don't think I will be visiting anytime soon..
Review Source:Petie's is located in the heart of Russianville, Tarzana. I went there for a birthday party that my aunt was having. Parking sucks, let's just get that out of the way. Trying to find the place was hard as well since it's located in a shopping center but parking was like trying to find a four leaf clover, thank god I have a small car. There is parking on the street - if you can find any.
Upon entering, I was surrounded by a group of older men which should have clued me in that perhaps this was not a place within my age range. After paying my $5.00 to enter, I was floored by what I saw. I was the youngest person in the place. Now this is not a bad thing, as I enjoy the company of more mature adults, however, it's really off-putting when the only men checking you out are way past their prime. I was really trying hard to give this place a chance, until the band started playing. Listen, I love live music and I love a jazzed up performer, but this band was playing the cheesiest, oldest hits ever ("mustang sally", "ladies night"..) and while I got to listen to this beautiful chocolate man sing his heart out, I was also treated to show of gyrations and hip swaying that I have only seen from the likes of Christina Aguilera or Britney Spears. Right in my face. Not even my gin and tonic could dull the after effects.
Overall, I do not recommend this place for anyone younger than 40 as the music is a little dated and the crowd is relatively older. If you're into a high cheese factor or you want to get trashed and watch people dance to really bad music, this might be the place for you. Definitely an experience.
