This is basically another version of Quiznos. They offer an assortment of sammiches that you can choose from and then have them toasted. I had the pickleman club. Pretty tasty. They need to offer pickles of the actual sammich though! Â Duh!
They also need to have a bigger chip selection. Fairly pricing joint for what ya get. You can probably get a bigger and tastier sammich at Jimmy John's IMHO.
First. The menu is nearly impossible to read as it's printed in small type and hung 12 feet high. The choices are not as exciting as I would have hoped from a small chain.
Second. I went at lunch during the week and the kids working were incredibly rude. I don't know if the place is known for having that schtick, but it was ridiculous.
Third. When I asked for water, the cashier muttered I could find the cups by the fountain. I only knew this because I found them on my own.
The food is no better than something I could have ordered from taco bell. For $7, I would expect more than mushy chicken. Not to mention the kid asked if I want it "like it usually comes" and gave no further description.
I had my receipt and pen to sign it thrown at me and my sandwich dropped on my plate after being asked twice "here or to go?"
The place was empty and I had to sit at a dirty table.
Should have tried Jimmie johns instead. Now I know better.
And there was not one pickle with my sandwich. Overall, incredible disappointment.
This place is giving a big "eff you" to Jimmy John's, which is next door. As that I am still munching on my lunch, a completely accurate review can not be given at this time.
However!
Over a dollar for a small pickle? Come on! JJ's offers a HUGE pickle for the same price. You can't call yourself "Pickleman's" and only offer one type of midget-sized kosher dill. That's like going to a mechanic called "The Car Man" who only works on motorcycles. Maybe there is some other element at work that I do not know of yet.
The sandwich, at first glance, is small. I hate that. I guess I'm used to Subway and their ilk with the super-sized subs. At first bite, I was amazed at the gauntlet of flavor. I do love my spicy ingredients! Although with me, you can put peppers on anything and I'll like it. The #11 seems like a good buy.
I am disheartened with the price. You get what would be a large snack for a sandwich and pay out of the ass for it. A soda, whole pickle, and the sandwich costs over $10.
I live right across from this place (almost), so I think I'll be able to visit it frequently. For now, I do not feel comfortable giving this place more than a three-star rating. Mostly, that rating goes to "hanging ending" this sandwich will, inevitably, leave my hungry belly. In comparison to other sandwich places, Pickleman's holds the flavor-victor. I do not think it can beat Which Wich, though.
