This was the most inexpensive bar on Exchange Street until Miss Del's Bar opened up next door. Â While the other bars tend to serve either sports fans on game days (B-Dubs) or college students (Manny's, Thursday's, Miss Del's), Pints is the closest thing to a neighborhood bar you'll get near campus. Â Granted, a majority of the patrons are still carrying Zip Cards, but more locals go here than anywhere else.
They have two food challenges here, although both were extremely easy. Â Their other food items are typical bar fare, although I found it to still be decent food.
The beer selection here is average. Â There's 8-12 beers on tap, I think, although there are no microbrews on tap except for Great Lakes.
The TVs more frequently play Two and a Half Men than sports games, which I find interesting.
Also, this bar is surprisingly empty when you'd expect it to be full and vice versa. Â It's hard to predict how much success they are having, even though they've been around for over 20 years.
It's a remarkably average bar. Â It's a nice alternative to Thursday's on Thursday if you're not looking to run in with a hipster or a total douche.
An often overlooked facet of the University of Akron is the night life right outside of the University. Pints is located south of campus almost directly across from Infocision Stadium and has the best priced drinks and most laid back atmosphere in Akron. With Many's and Joe's Sun Bar tore down to make way for the new state of the art facility Pints is really the lone drinking spot for those looking to pick up a drink off campus. It's location alone make it better than walking down town, its prices dwarf nearby BW 3's, and the atmosphere is much more welcoming than Thursday's pub. This is the #1 drinking spot for off campus (and often residential students) residents all week long.
