Piv's Pub and Restaurant

About a years ago, I had a great meal during lunch, I dined on a large shrimp sandwich, perfectly seasoned with old bay and full of crunchy celery, and  the service was highly attentive.  My mom and I were shopping so we decided to stop in and the restaurant was not crowded at that time.  

I recommended the restaurant to my husband for "date night" and we arrived around 7 pm, were seated, ordered martini's only to be told that there were not enough martini glasses available.  We waited approximately 50 minutes for a menu, or just to cancel our martini order and order water, but our waitress was flirting with a cook.  Martini glasses were washed and refilled, but our waitress was so enthralled with a cook that she ignored us, my husband raising his hand and being very obvious about wanting service.

We left disgusted and the waitress did not seem to care.  We came back again based upon my prior tasty old bay seasoned jumbo shrimp salad sandwich  experience.  We waited for over 40 minutes for a table, observed delivery pizzas being delivered to bar patrons, only to leave in disgust before being seated.  The bonus of our negative experiences, I learned how to make shrimp salad myself at HOME utilizing Gibby's jumbo shrimp, for a simple and easy dinner.

To be honest, I had really low expectations for Piv's. I went here way back in the day and it wasn't good at all, but they changed a lot. The interior is very nice - nice furniture and tables that draw away from the bar theme. The food was also pretty good. Not amazing, but good. I got haddock with fries and I enjoyed it. The fish and fries weren't greasy at all, they were fried nicely and tasted great. My neighbor liked his quesadilla and my dad also enjoyed his burger. The staff was friendly and it was an overall good experience.

I went on a sunday evening which I believe is one of their slow days but the size and ambience told me that I can expect decent food. I and my friend ordered Crab cakes as startes and crab & shrimp Quesdallias. The mexican delight was aceeptable but the crab cakes were very delightful. I would be exploring this restaurnat further but so far I am impressed.
