About a years ago, I had a great meal during lunch, I dined on a large shrimp sandwich, perfectly seasoned with old bay and full of crunchy celery, and  the service was highly attentive.  My mom and I were shopping so we decided to stop in and the restaurant was not crowded at that time. Â
I recommended the restaurant to my husband for "date night" and we arrived around 7 pm, were seated, ordered martini's only to be told that there were not enough martini glasses available. Â We waited approximately 50 minutes for a menu, or just to cancel our martini order and order water, but our waitress was flirting with a cook. Â Martini glasses were washed and refilled, but our waitress was so enthralled with a cook that she ignored us, my husband raising his hand and being very obvious about wanting service.
We left disgusted and the waitress did not seem to care.  We came back again based upon my prior tasty old bay seasoned jumbo shrimp salad sandwich  experience.  We waited for over 40 minutes for a table, observed delivery pizzas being delivered to bar patrons, only to leave in disgust before being seated.  The bonus of our negative experiences, I learned how to make shrimp salad myself at HOME utilizing Gibby's jumbo shrimp, for a simple and easy dinner.
To be honest, I had really low expectations for Piv's. I went here way back in the day and it wasn't good at all, but they changed a lot. The interior is very nice - nice furniture and tables that draw away from the bar theme. The food was also pretty good. Not amazing, but good. I got haddock with fries and I enjoyed it. The fish and fries weren't greasy at all, they were fried nicely and tasted great. My neighbor liked his quesadilla and my dad also enjoyed his burger. The staff was friendly and it was an overall good experience.
Review Source:I went on a sunday evening which I believe is one of their slow days but the size and ambience told me that I can expect decent food. I and my friend ordered Crab cakes as startes and crab & shrimp Quesdallias. The mexican delight was aceeptable but the crab cakes were very delightful. I would be exploring this restaurnat further but so far I am impressed.
Review Source:Me and my hubby love this place. They have a menu where you can order less of the same great food for less- which is something I often wish more places would do- cus I don't need a pound of food :P The food was very yummy. They have a cute little game room that is separate from the other dining area where the kids can play. The only thing that we didn't like was one of the desserts- the cheese-cake pops tasted like they had freezer burn- but the creme brulee was different yet good.
Review Source:I like this place, I just wish there was a bigger bar. I can never tell if the tables by the bar are ALSO bar seats, or you have to be seated by the hostess. Oddly enough, sometimes the waitstaff seems unfamiliar with their own bar menu when you ask for something listed on it, which is kind of annoying when you have to keep repeating and pointing it out. However, the bar staff is great (hence why the bar should be bigger) and I think the little game room is cool. They have hands down the best bathroom of any bar (can only speak for the ladies room). Drinks are great, food is pretty good, too!
Review Source:Piv's has become a rather popular restaurant in town lately. They show sports on all the tv's which are large enough to see from your seat at a table. Their cream of crab soup is very good, and I usually get the Piv's House Salad (spinach, walnuts, green apples, blue cheese crumbles and raspberry vinaigrette) Most people don't realize you can get a half portion of any salad, which makes the soup and salad a perfect combo. The bar is a great place to meet for a few drinks after work, and the Timonium crowd seems to like their cocktails. The unique thing about Piv's is they have 2 happy hours 7 days a week 4-7pm and 9-11pm. I recently had the chocolate fudge brownie with ice cream, which was all kinds of chocolatey goodness! Another pro, you can usually walk in and get a table, no wait.
Review Source:A group of us went there for some late night fare. Â One of the few places that sells food till 11 pm. Â The place was recently done into more of a sports bar attempting to compete with Padonia Station. Â But it falls short in the game room as well as the food.
Service was fine and our server was pleasant and attentive. Â The food was standard bar fare. Â Nothing innovative or special. Â I had the flat bread pizza which was on an odd, chewy piece of pressed bread, not what I expected. Â We also had fried calamari which was tough and chewy. Â Great calamari should taste light and tender (see my review on Pasticcio where the calamari is the best I ever had). Â My wife the steamed dumplings. Â Not bad.
Overall it was disappointing. Â The server removed the calamari from the bill. Â The place is trying to be a sports bar, which I ask, do we really need another sports bar in Cockeysville? Â They recently added an outdoor deck, problem is it is adjacent to one of the areas noisiest roads. Â It just does not feel right. Â
This place is also a meat market for the elderly. Â So if you want an old cougar, Â this a place you can go roll one of them to your car. Â Just remember to park close to the door.
Came back for a quick bite to eat. Our waitress was in the weeds, poor thing. We wound up having literally 4 different people serving us including the manager. The food took FOREVER and the calamari was SO chewy. I did not enjoy it at all. However, the rest of my party had a sandwich and a salad which were good...
Review Source:Mixed bag at best. Went there once for early dinner- really liked it! Good food, fast, friendly service-- very nice! Mix of suburban bar/family restaurant atmosphere, basic American pub grub. Nothing fancy, but simple food done well, with an additional bar for the mature suburbanite set.
Came their twice after for late dinner-- IT SUCKED!! No joke-- we should have left when we saw a DELIVERY PIZZA BEING TAKEN TO PEOPLE AT THE BAR!!!  Really. I mean-- that really happened!!!!  Partly because the host/hostess was  NO WHERE TO BE FOUND for at least 1/2 an hour- a waitress finally ran over and seated us. Then proceeded to forget about  us for 1/2 an hour, then told us we couldn't have martinis because all their martini glasses were dirty (!), then said she would wash some, then disappeared for God knows how long-- we split after waiting for an hour, only getting water to drink.
Since our first visit was so nice, we gave it one more chance. Â Wronged again. Waited 20 minutes for the hostess to come back with our seats-- we just left. Â
Maybe the food is still good- but lordy we wouldn't know, because you can't seem to get to it!!!
(And we had really good clothes and hygiene both nights, so we are pretty sure it wasn't us!!! HA!)
I love what Piv's is doing with the remodel and can't wait enjoy the outdoor patio next spring! Â But this is definitely a great place to go to relax and get some food and drinks. Â It has a very large bar area, which is great! Â And the dining room looks nice too, although I haven't sat in there yet. Â I've tried some of their appetizers and sandwiches and loved everything. Â So if you're looking for a place to get some food or watch the game with friends, this is a great place to try.
Review Source:I've been here twice lately. I come here because it's something different than the usual. Around Christmas I came with some friends and it was so packed we had to just crowd around the bar. I ordered a shrimp salad sandwich which tasted kind of bland, which is a shame since the shrimp were HUGE. My friend ordered a club sandwich which was huge and packed with my meat. Two of my other friends ordered a chicken sandwich which was very dry and chicken marsala which he said he liked, but I don't think he was that ecstatic about...which he probably should have been considering it's price of around $20 dollars.
The last time I went, which was about 2 months ago, a friend and I sat at a table near the bar. It was relatively quiet with a few regulars coming in to have a drink at the bar. I ordered my favorite shrimp and crab quesadilla and wasn't disappointed. My friend ordered the French Dip which as prime rib with cheese on a french baguette and she liked it as well.
I really do like this place because of the warm and cozy feel it has. If you want a nice, quiet dinner, this is a good place. I just stick to the appetizers and lite fair menu though.
By far one of my favorite restaurants in Central Baltimore County. I always walk in or ask a hostess if standing there to sit me back at one of one of the comfy booths, ideally away from the front door (less noise and it is Winter).
Waitresses are friendly and I've never had an issue with my order. Although the menu is small and basic, most of the food is quite good. My standby favorites are the Chx. Quesadilla & Burger.
While I can't say everything is made from scratch or not previously frozen, (IE; Pizza, which I've never tried but the menu does not say Hand-Tossed or Fresh Dough), but IF IN DOUBT JUST ASK. The waitresses are pleasant enough.
I do know that the Apple Pie Ala Mode is Homemade (Ice Cream brand still unknown at this point in time). I finished a meal with it and it was very good.

Ambitious menu, nice atmosphere.
Piv's is a nice place to watch a game and have some appetizers and beer or wine. Their entrees were less than stellar, but perhaps we should've ordered closer to the pub fare that they're good at - jambalaya was underseasoned.
Excellent wine specials if you go on the right evenings, too.
