Fantastic pizza! We even tried one with a gluten free crust and it was amazing!
    Love the staff too.

We've been to Pizzalina three times over 8 months and everytime it's been delicious.  First two visits we took out the "pies" and the last time we sat outside (new seating outside!).  They don't have a liquor license yet for outdoor seating but it is forthcoming.  We had the Escalle and Yolanda pizza's.  Both were yummy!   For appetizers we ordered oven roasted fruit (dates were the fruit last night) and it was to die for.  We also had the delicious crispy salted mild peppers.  We demolished the entire meal quite quickly.  I'm not a big pizza fan but I do crave their pizza as it is thin crusted and light.  Prices are a little high but when you bite into one slice you think....OK - this is worth every penny.  Service was fun.

The only thing I don't really like is the decor inside.  It seems a little "cold" and sparse but that is my taste.  We are so glad they replaced Round Table!  Thank you!

Still haven't made up my mind about this place. I've been here four times since they opened-three times eating in and one take out.
The first time was great-we both really enjoyed our meal.
    The second time, was so-so.
Take out night was a disappointment-we live 5 min. away, but by the time we got them home, they were pretty soggy and lackluster.
The last time I went, I went alone for lunch and was a little shocked to realize my bill was $20 and all I'd had was a pizza and tap water. I heard they used to offer a lunch special, but didn't see any signs of it in evidence.
The margherita and mushroom pizza are the best-the potato pizza (don't remember their name for it) was disappointing.
Service is good, but it is LOUD when the restaurant has more than a couple tables-wish they would've invested a little money in better acoustics for the place-makes for a more pleasant dining experience....

Happiness in a pie. This is a great little restaurant with an energetic vibe and really sweet staff members. The entire experience from the moment we stepped inside was perfect. We sat at the bar and made quick friends with our server and the couple seated next to us. The caesar salad was a little weak on flavor for my liking, but still good. The arugula salad my wife had was pure heaven. And the pizza is fabulous. The best we have found so far since moving down here in April. It is definitely a place we will go back to for the service alone. Thank God they have great pizza, too. Can't wait to try some of their other dishes as the meatballs that walked by looked really good as well. And the desserts looked great, too.

    YUM!

We tried Pizzalina this weekend.  We only had pizza though, so this review is just based on that.  I wish I could give it another half star.  I think it was somewhere between 3 and 4.

We had the margherita, the marinara, and the yolanda.  All were delicious.  The dough was okay - it wasn't nearly as good as Una Pizza Napoletana in SF but it was still good.  There wasn't that yeasty taste and I would have liked it just a tiny bit thicker, but it was good.  The rest of the menu looked great and we look forward to coming back and trying some of the pastas and risotto, not to mention the appetizers.  Service was attentive.  It's a small place so get there early!

Went here with my lunch group who are all vegetarians.  We ordered a number of different pizza's and got to sample.  My order was the margherita with mushrooms and without the parmesan cheese (because it uses animal rennet) and a Mexican coca-cola (Yes, they actually have Mexican coca-cola!).  I did want onions on there, but they did not have any (???!!!???).

My first bite was a deeply rich and sumptuous taste of warm cheese, mushroom, tomato sauce and basil followed immediately by a crispy crunch of a nice thin crust with some chew in the middle.  Just the perfect bite!  I wolfed that pizza down.

Wait staff was very friendly and checked in with us just enough.  The atmosphere and decoration was a big hit with our group.  We have put Pizzalina on our regular rotation and we're going there again next week.

Pizzalina is a first class and classic new/old style pizzeria. It was founded by a lady that went to Naples to become a certified pizzaiolo, and she did a terrific job in creating her casual (without feeling trendy or cookie cutter) pizzeria in San Anselmo, in the Red Hill mall, in a former Round Table Pizza space. I am a pizza fanatic from Chicago, and I give this place all my thumbs (and fingers) up! I loved the Escalle, pepperoni and crumbled sausage. On an earlier visit I tried the reheated  slices and do not recommend it, but don't judge the pizzeria by that. Plus they have wonderful wines on tap and the home-made lemonade is superb.

A FB posting showed tonight's special, a white pizza with mozzarella, parm, bacon, red pepper, and Calabrian chiles. Oh and fava leaves. Sounded awful so I had to go try it :-)

Started with iced tea.  Then oven-roasted broccoli raabe. Then roasted pear, burrata, arugula, prosciutto and endive salad. Then the pizza OMG good. Finish with Three Twins chocolate ice cream.

We returned from NYC on Sat afternoon and went to Pizzalina that evening for the most divine pizza. This was only our 2nd visit to the restaurant, but we'd been dreaming about the Escalle pizza (pepperoni and sausage) with its blistered crust, the lovely salads and the Three Twins ice cream with caramel.
This place is a real find! We can't wait to go again.

Love this place-cool wine list with affordable selections and with gluten free choices it's one of  my new best places to congregate!
Staff is new, but job pool for restaurants is getting slimmer and slimmer-time to hire kids (who want to work) and train them.
    Great Job!

    Mediocre across the board:
Salumi was not good. Some weird ass variety served with nothing but mustard, and only 12 little slices for 12 bucks. Was that coppa? Did you know it still had pig hair on it? Thats just bit too rustic for my taste.
Pizza totally undercooked, runny and slimy.
Mussels not fresh, tasting pretty gamy, which is not a quality we look for in shellfish!
The capper, when the server came and asked how everything was, and I politely relayed the above information, his response "Oh". And walked away.

The INCREDIBLE flavors are VERY impressive. The Escalle Pizza with a side of Pizzalina's Pasta Shells..to DIE for! We had to order an Escalle pizza to go on top of also enjoying "The Roy," the pasta shells, AND the "3 chocolate Ice Cream" for dessert. I was VERY impressed with the wait staff, I believe our waiter, a very attentive gentleman's name was Erik. The Flavors, wait time, and wait staff get a 5 out of 5 stars. Comes very well recommended and could not wait to leave a Yelp Review. Very Impressed!  Louise Franz, the owner, even took the time to come see about us on top of regulating the kitchen during a steady dinner time. Can't wait to Return!

We are in love with Pizzalina's fantastic pizzas and can't get enough of them! Every pizza we have tried from the staples on the menu to the special of the day to making up our own as we go have all been sensational and something to write home about. But don't stop there because their salads and soups are amazing as well and the desserts are fabulous too.  We had a prix fixe meal there as well which included pairings with wines that were really well played. The wine is superb and not to miss with your favorite pie. This place is a winner in our book and we are their greatest fans! OH.. the staff is really friendly and personable and the place is cool, hip, clean.. Nice going Pizzalina!

I had been craving some good pizza since I recently moved out here from the Midwest.  The other day my coworkers went to lunch at Pizzalina and could not stop raving about it.  So I figured I had to give it a try.

My high expectations were completely met.  The service was warm and attentive, the atmosphere was quiet and inviting, and the food was fantastic.  As another poster stated, do not let the strip mall location fool you, this place is everything I hoped it would be.  I absolutely loved the speed with which the food arrived, afforded by the brick oven heat.  I sampled the Alto with clams and everything was perfectly cooked on it, from the leeks to the potatoes.  The clams gave it the saltiness and the olive oil gave that unctuous richness to add to the fontina and parmesan.  Aforementioned potatoes and leeks gave it needed the earthiness.

They have a customer for life with me now, which will provide me ample opportunity to peruse their other delicious menu options.

We had a great experience at Pizzalina.  We came in on a Sunday evening at 5:30 and was seated immediately (always a plus when trying to eat at a restaurant with 3 young children).  The service was great, we ordered and there was a piping hot cheese pizza in front of the kids within 12 minutes of stepping in the door.  That's got to be some kind of record!

My husband and I ordered the mushroom pizza and it was excellent but could maybe have used a little pop of acidity or something to provide a counterpoint to the earthy mushrooms.  Overall, a great experience - we will be back!!

I'm so confused. Am I at the wrong place all of these great yelps are about!? This is just ok pizza. I called in an order for pick up. I asked a few questions including if their pizzas are crispy. The girl on the phone rudely said " we don't serve soggy pizza." Well, by time I got there 15 mins later, what I got was an under cooked pizza. The middle is white and mushy. Gross. The flavor is not great. VERY plain. Sauce tastes litterally like its only tomatoes. Good for little kids perhaps. Also it's cold. How did it get cold if I just called it in? Hmmm. Maybe an off day. Also it wasn't busy at all so wondering what the excuse for below average  service.

This is the third time I came here. This time I brought my family to get some lunch on Super Bowl Sunday.

The restaurant is clean, well decorated, nice ambiance, felt good energy in there.

The only problem is the wait staff is inattentive. They forgot to give the coloring activities for the children which is available and visible from where we sat. I guess they are more interested in watching the organize sports on television.

We waited for 10 minutes to get menus and had to flag someone down to place an order. The cashier end up serving us.

The Ceasarlina salad is way overpriced for what you get. The pizza taste really good but it is greasy.

There are a number of other better pizzarias in San Rafael like Amici's. I recommend going there instead. Amici has gluten-free pizza and there's a lot of choices.

Beautiful atmosphere and delicious pizza.  They didn't have a kids menu, which was a bummer, but you can always order a cheese pizza.  Its just that an adult cheese pizza order is way too much food and too expensive for one kid.   I've now been there three times and I really do like their pizzas.  I absolutely love their burrata appetizer (but I'm also a huge burrata fan).  One time, one of my companions got their risotto and was disappointed in it.  But, every pizza I've had has always been great.  The restaurant is a much needed addition to the Ross Valley food scene.

I am so thrilled to have Pizzalina close enough to my house that I can walk there. I needed a place so good nearby!

I've been there about three times and after being obsessed with Pizzeria Picco and knowing that the founder here had worked there for many years this seemed like a dream.

The pizzas are great. My favorite aspect is that they even offer a gluten free crust which makes the place accessible for people with special dietary needs.

I haven't had anything I didn't like there. The ceasar salad is great but is served as whole romaine hearts so it's a bit more work than I like with my salads. I eat a lot of salads and prefer they not require a knife. Just a word of caution.

The service is great and they have a great wine and beer selection.

The space is absolutely beautiful. The open kitchen is done mostly in amazing marble, but I do feel like it makes the bright light required in the kitchen spread into the vibe of the eating area more than I would prefer, so if you're seated facing the kitchen it might be a bit bright for you.

I haven't been left hungry enough to try dessert there, but hope to one day.

Timing on delivery between appetizers and the main course was off the last time I ate there and my entire meal arrived at the same time, but I'd rather have that to deal with than the opposite. I find things like this to generally work out with time.

Nothing I have to complain about keeps me from going back. I look forward to each visit. It can get pricey if you order alcohol, but I just know that going in and it all adds up like many other places.

Thanks Pizzalina for coming to the neighborhood. Please make yourself at home!

Came here with my husband after reading some of the yelp reviews - which were right on! It's a fun atmosphere, very casual. The pizza is super delish. It's a very nice thin crust & it's fun that they present wine in beakers and have some on tap.

The service is really nice as well - very friendly! Also, this is a nice alternative to Picco's Pizzeria as you can sit inside.

We'll keep coming back for more :)

Louise Franz has created a true winner.  Her new restaurant is like stepping into a pizzeria in Naples, only cleaner and more modern.  The pizza cooked in a ceramic wood-fired oven is authentically Neapolitan.  There is a nice choice of pizzas with each made from scratch.  The waiter, Marco, recently arrived from Italy, is charming and professional.

Louise, the owner, was certified as a pizzaioli by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana.  A kind of Nobel prize of pizza making.  She is on hand, making pizza or welcoming guest.

All-in-all, a fabulous change from the "throw-it-at-your" pizzerias that populate Marin County.

We are blessed to have many great pizza places in the Bay Area to choose from but this place surpasses them all. The pizza was perfect! PERFECT! I also had a ceaser salad and the burrata which were both outstanding as well.  I would highly reccomend the trip to San Anselmo to try this new and fantastic neighborhood gem.

So couldn't be more disappointed. Read IJ review and yelp reviews and was so happy to see something in the red hill plaza close by....but expensive and we did take out so we might be missing something but it is pizza. Sauce was great...meatballs $12 for an order of 3. I might be compelled to make them myself. I was hoping this was Pizzeria pico II certainly not the case I am sorry to say.

My first visit was for a pizza to go and I got the goat cheese with mushrooms and truffle oil and I was only going to eat half but finished it off. I felt I was back in Italy.
The second time I got an olive oil cake togo and it was heaven with fresh fruit and whipped cream.
Then I went in for lunch for a Ceasar salad and a bowl of warm oiives and it was supreme. Love this place so much wish I could eat there every night.

Excellent new spot!  Had a fabulous salad and pizza at the bar here last night.  Very fresh and delicious.  Service was great and everyone was very nice and welcoming.  Wonderful new spot!

My only comment would be on the lighting.  The lights in the open-plan, white-tiled kitchen was so bright I felt like I was eating in an operating room.  I almost pulled out my sun glasses when we sat down at the bar. This is a charming spot with lovely decor, but they need to address this issue FAST if they want their patrons to return to enjoy their wonderful food and hospitality.

Wish they would open another location in Mill Valley or Tiburon!

Outstanding Neapolitan-style pizza, hit all the Marin requirements (fresh, local, organic). Wine on tap! You heard me Great wine on tap! Beer selection is awesome, too. Staff is friendly and on-the-ball.

Excellent atmo and good food. We had the burrata and a pizza. Very fresh ingredients. It was really tasty. They have local beer and wine on tap. Yeah, wine on tap.

Had 2 pizzas, which were very good.  True italian style thin crust.  We had salad and meatball appetizers; meatballs were somewhat bland, and small dish for the price.  I wish the place were more kid friendly - there were really only 2 things that could work for kids (margherita pizza and pasta shells). Also:  no bread, breadsticks, or anything else on the table while you wait, which are nice to have when you're trying to keep kids under control.

We decided to have a late night dinner on Saturday and we were so glad to find a busy pizzalina (on a Giants game night!).
The place is beautiful, the service is great and we had a very hard time deciding what to order. Everything sounded yummy. We tried both the Marinara and the Landsale pizza - delicious - and a perfect (!!!) crust ... We will be back!

If I were to imagine the kind of pizza place I would like best - this would be it.  Simple decor, great, interesting pizza and fresh, lightly dressed salads.  We even had the gluten-free pizza dough and couldn't believe it was gluten-free - it was so good.

I normally don't like to go out for pizza, but I will now.

The only thing I would critique would be the noise (Saturday night-crowded).  If they could maybe add some noise-reducing fabric or something - would be great.

Open 2 weeks and bound to be a hit!  The staff was fabulous even with the Friday night crowd.  Appetizers, salads, artisan pizzas and interesting desserts make this a worthwhile place.  The crowd seemed to thin out around 8:30.  Don't be discouraged by the Red Hill strip-mall location.

Stopped in today because I had to go to cvs pharmacy.  Noticed their lunch special of 6 dollars for a quarter of a pizza which is two substantial slices and a choice of drinks .  I am used to pizza specials being reheated but this knocked my socks off.
It was a quarter of a pizza made to order in their wood burning oven.
The drinks were a good choice from Mexican coke and San pelligrino and iced tea.
The place has a nice look and feel to it and when I to my surprise found the former pizza specialist from Picco behind the dough and as one of the owners I immediately knew why this place was special.   It's just been open two weeks but this new daily pizza special ( different special daily mine had the house made fennel sausage and fall mushrooms) will certainly draw me here.  Kudos for the excellent looking and interesting looking wine list.  The owner has told me look for special happy hours and perhaps even oyster for a dollar evenings in the near future.   They also have a wine bar and quite a few very interesting wines by the glass that are unique and fairly priced.  Will definitely put this place on the list.  Desserts include three twin ice cream with de Varo olive oil and sea salt.   Yum

Outdoor seating is in the works as well.

Our group tried a variety of things on the menu the opening week here.  The tricolor salad, the meatballs, the warmed olives, the pizza with tuna and the squash risotto were all heavenly delicious.  Ambience is great, servers are just friendly enough and very efficient and the wine list is incredible and very well priced.  We will be back often.

I had lunch there midweek the day they opened, I believe. Nice salad but on the small side and nice wine selection. The were two other tables in use. Decided to wait to try pizza when I could bring me wife and sons. Went back on Friday evening around 7:30 and every table was full and there was a 30 minute wait. Looked lively and fun. Loud! CONGRATULATIONS Pizzalina, Redhill SC and San Anselmo.

We decided not to wait and ate at Pucci's instead...okay, Fradelizios. The following Sunday took wife, son and two of my most foodie friends there for lunch. Three pizzas all good. Consensus was that not as good as Rosso in Santa Rosa or the Boca pizzas but still nice crust and creative toppings. Biggest criticisms were that two of the pies were a bit skimpy on toppings leaving a wide rim of plain crust that didn't get eaten even though it was quite tasty  and the wine by the glass pours were also a bit stingy. Funny how a few pieces more or of lettuce or another tablespoon or two of topping...another ounce of liquid in a glass can make the difference between good and really good. However, price points seem right for the location and upscale trendy feel of the place. It is that vague feeling of stinginess that accounts for the four star rating.

Service was fine and friendly both times. The space has been beautifully done especially when comparing it to the nightmare pizzeria space that it replaced! I'm hoping this place does well as I believe it will and is a welcome addition to the area. When they get the outdoor seating area permits resolved, it should be even better. They are doing a great job considering having been open for less than a week.

Stopped in for a quick Monday night dinner. Five stars for the pizza. It was amazing and totally delicious. The Margherita toppings were good and tasty and just as they should be but the crust I felt was a step above most other wood fired pizzas around.

We also shared a small tricolore salad that was nicely dressed and tasted mighty fine as well.

The only downside is the location, tucked away at the far end of the Red Hill shopping center. I hope they get enough business to stay around. I will come back for the pizza!
