This place is decent for an average Mexican restaurant. We went for Cinco de Mayo and they were not doing anything special. After we finished dinner, a local radio station showed up and started playing music. The DJ played regular stuff that comes on the radio these days and a few people handed out some beer advertisements (beads and lai's). That's about the extent of the Mexican holiday. No live music.
Another interesting thing they do here is serve you beer in plastic solo cups. This happens whether or not you go on a holiday. It's weird and a bit ghetto. They give you glasses if you get a margarita.
Overall it's nothing special, but there isn't anything wrong with it either. If you like Mexican food and generic places that serve it, you will love this one.
I used to go here back when it was Wholly Guacamole's but it has since (about 2 years ago) changed hands and is Poblano's. Â But the prices and food quality seem about the same.
We've never had a problem getting a table here. Â The staff is very friendly, prompt, and helpful.
As with most Mexican restaurants, you are given a courtesy basket of chips and salsa. Â I find their salsa to be above average. Â Slightly spicy but not so much so. Â
There's nothing too fancy about the menu but it's also not too large that you get lost in it. Â It's exactly what I expect from a mexican restaurant.
The Sangria here is very good as well - I've had that on occasion. Â From burritos to enchiladas to tacos, it's all very good and the sauces don't disappoint.
I'm told it's not the real deal authentic Mexican restaurant-quality food by some of my friends from that part of the world (some of them prefer Monterrey down the street) but it's above average Mexican cuisine and we like it. Â It's cheap for the quality you get too!
