On day one of a recent visit to Florida we stopped in a Pollo Tropical for lunch. It hit the spot: tasty chicken, a little bit of rice and beans, awesome wings and very good ribs. And the sauces were great, especially the curry sauce. The next day at lunch time we went to Pollo Tropical again, and the next day, and the next........... Solid simple tasty food, efficient service, reasonable. The only thing I craved was a nice crunchy side salad or vinegary cole slaw. Â Would I go back? Yesss and you should go too.
Review Source:We went here for my Florida vacation last year and the service was quick and sweet.Ohhhh and those curly fries they make are the bomb.No complains and I know that ill be returning here when we go back to Florida for vacation so if you're wondering if you should go to this Pollo Tropical then tha answer is capital YES.What are you doing reading this review?Goooooooo!
Review Source:Here's my Pollo Tropical Dance! (insert chicken song--jk)
Ok, Pollo Tropical is awesome because it's the fast-food version of home cooking for many Hispanic/Latino peeps.
I happened to stumble across this Pollo Tropical while I was in Florida, not knowing that Pollo Tropical actually existed OUTSIDE OF PUERTO RICO!! *HAAAAAAAAH*
Super happy! I love ordering their rice and beans and chicken for a family of 4 (that me and my sister split, LOL) and then getting a side of yuca and tostones. MMMM--MMMMNNHH! :)
Yummy, delicious, fast, and the people who took my order were nice. My place to go when other spots are closed.
This place was a big part of my childhood. Today I am a hardcore vegetarian, but back in the day we frequented this place weekly. The yellow rice is always moist and flavorful, and the beans are authentically delicious. Everything has a hint of Caribe in flavor and I love it.
POLLO TROPICAL - IS DELICIOUS
This is definitely my favorite fast food joint. I'm glad that we now have them in CT. However, the first time that I tried one was in Florida. The food is good and the prices are right. It was a natural choice for us on this last trip to Florida when we needed to grab something on the go. As always, we were not disappointed.
Review Source:Bleh. Been here twice, both times we had unnecessarily long waits to be served by less than capable employees out of a dirty-looking kitchen. The food was overcooked, dried out, and generally bland. I felt bad that I had paid money for it. Then I had to go get something I could eat. Â My wife liked it even less.
Review Source:Love , Love this place.IF I could open one up here , I would.DAMN..miss this place. Its a franchise, but damn--dont know what marinade they use, but the chicken is Absolutely To-Die For!!!Hands down , the Best thing -chicken I ever ate!!!!!!!My girlfriend lives down there, & we went couple times, even here mom requested it on her own B-day to go there. I love it myself..There tres leche-dessert (custard with a condesned mile sauce-awesome too.Good god, my mouth watering just thinking about it!!!
Set in fast food place, order, get it, find your seating, You can see them grilling the chicken ..OH Good God!!! with 2 side, black beans , plaintains..YUMMMMMMMM!
i CAN'T believe some reviewers have given this place - and their other outlets - 5 stars. Â It may have started out as being a bit different than other fast food outlets, but quickly deteriorated. Â chicken often raw at the bone, places are dirty, and staff are always gruff. Â I haven't been there is years and wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Review Source:We went here for lunch not long ago, it was a bit past their peak hour, but the lines were TREMENDOUS, and no one seemed to be in much of a hurry to clear them out, either. The food, delivered in a retro styrofoam container, was not as excellent as I'd expected, merely servicable, and the place was borderline dirty. The floor in the kitchen had lots of chicken bits, and there was lots of rice on the floor. The place could use a good cleaning, some paint and some customer service for a fourth star. The food? Not bad for a franchise, but they need to step up.
Review Source:OMG...the best fast food rotisserie chicken I have ever had. Â You want a cheap meal that will leave you so satisfied then you have to go to Pollo Tropical. Â I am actually happy that we do not have one in NY because I would be eating at this place all the time and be one Gorda Chica.
They have a drive-thru, are open very late and take credit cards. Â You will love this place, love the chicken, love the beans and the rice....moist, fluffy and full of flavor.
I heart Pollo Tropical...you make my mouth water and tummy full.
5 Stars? Pollo Tropical? You're kidding right?
Seriously, I'm in a good mood and I can barely give them 2 stars. That's only because "one time" when I went to Pollo Tropical, my chicken was NOT overcooked and dry to the point of being inedible. The sides are ok but, just ok. Really, the place wasn't bad when the chain was new but quality has taken a dive of late. Let's be honest here, it's been a while since Pollo has put anyone to "complete and utter shame".
My favorite grilled chicken in South Florida. Â The meat is always moist and flavorful, the rice and black beans, muy perfecto!!!. Â I can only compare this place to El Pollo Loco in the Bay Area (California) because its just as good. Â The skewered steak is awesome too. Â I always get a full stomach from this place and left overs for days.
Review Source:When I get off the plane this is always the first place I want to go. The food here is top-notch for fast food. In fact, I believe it is the best fast food joint in the World. Yes - better than In N Out. The Combo Mambo is a steal, and the guava BBQ sauce delish. I even like the tres leches. They know what they are doing and put Boston Market to complete and utter shame.
