Update...
I was contacted by Kathy, the owner, who apologized for the experience we had the previous visit. I always appreciate a business owner reaching out to their customers. Since then we have been back once and it was much, much better. I am, once again, a fan :)
**Note** The owner informed me that Prohibition does not serve wheat buns! Hence the reason I didn't get one with my burger. If you want wheat, you can choose to have them put your burger on toast. Pretty tasty either way!
I really want to give them 5 stars :/
Unfortunately, their beer according to my taste, is lacking. They do have great guest beers though (mmmmm Sculpin). The atmosphere is great, the staff are very friendly especially at the bar and they do serve their own food.
The food has been tasty but is a little hit and miss. Probably depends on who is doing the cooking I imagine.
Don't pass it up because it's worth the visit and you may find that extra star. I'm sure I will because I haven't given up on them and will be back!!
Been meaning to stop in for a LONG time. Finally got off work early, and was pleasantly surprised to see Tuesday 3-6 was half-off select appetizers. Two of which I wanted to sample: onion rings and wings. They were great! Burger was cooked as requested, side salad wasn't inspired, but that wasn't the reason I came. Which was for the beer. Vista 50th and Ruby Red. Wonderful to my relatively uneducated palate. A competent local brewpub where the wait staff calls out the regulars by name. Makes me homesick for Oregon.
Could not leave without a growler of Vista 50th. Have to carve out room in the fridge for more varieties.
So much what I was hoping Hennesey's/ Vista Village Pub would continue being, but VVP has so lost its way it's sad.
