They have original arcade donkey kong, original arcade pac-man, pinball, pool table, beers brewed locally in Puyallup along with a fabulous rotating beer menu of other breweries, an outstanding bartender (who incidentally appears in the documentary Bonus Life Extended Play- out next year & a dang good DK player himself), free popcorn, $3 gourmet dogs, and it's a local small business doing it right... yeah it's good.  They have brewer's nights promoting other  breweries that are a great time.  The staff is by the far the best bar staff around and the clientele are always friendly and social as well.  Even when you head in solo you never have a problem finding conversation.

... and they have Sarah the Beer Ninja.  Nuff said.

Great, if not BEST, local place for just beer. They recently starting doing food, so I'm sure their customers will hang out longer instead of bailing for their munchies.

Owner is really nice and the entire staff is all about making sure you get the beer you want if you're being brave enough to try something new.

I suggest the sampler and a T-shirt (bought my friend one for his birthday).

2 things: Big Ass TV and old skool arcade games....

Good brew, but no food.  Growler fills are a little steep for the area.  Add food and I would likely come here more.

Great little place! Wonderful beer selection...no food yet so I couldn't give it a 5, but the owner stated food was in the making once permits get approved. They actually carry a gluten free beer selection. I am not gluten free myself but my boyfriend and I tried the pale ale out of curiosity and were pleasantly surprised. It is made with roasted chestnuts and you really got a light taste of them in the ale. I also had the apricot saison, which I was leery about before a taster...sadly way too many apricot beers smell and taste like feet (weird but true!). Was very happy that their apricot saison did not smell or taste like feet. It was a nice, light and pleasant drink. The boyfriend was excited that they had old classic video games (Pac Man and Donkey Kong) but didn't get to play cause the owner was playing by the time he decided to throw down some change LOL. Will Totally be back and I look forward to seeing their food selection when everything gets approved!!

Proud Puyallup has a place like this.. with 24 taps, there's something for every beer fan. In house brews are well crafted and reasonable @ $4 a pint and slightly more for visiting rotating taps. Decor is clean and green, simple but appealing with a long large "L" shaped bar and 7 tall tables with bar stools. The pool table is fun to have around but bumper cushions are inaccurate, it's not always the beer that makes you miss the occasional shot. A modern style jukebox is limited on choices, when you find an artist, it's one or 2 of their "popular" songs. Downtown Puyallup is becoming a fun destination with places like this and a few others nearby.

Really a nice little brewery! I have lots of positive stimuli to reflect with my three visits here.
First of all I really appreciate the honesty of the staff here. On our first outing here somehow Steve left his debit card here. It was indeed a moment of panic when we realized he did not have it back home in Tacoma but the Puyallup River Alehouse were aware of this and had it safe and sound under the drawer, well aware of the situation before we called. Thanks a lot for your honesty! We both appreciate it!
Puyallup River has lots of their own beers on tap as well as guest beers. I just get the brews they make and I have not been disappointed! I have gotten their Blonde Saison which is nice and smooth, their Pale Ale, a wheat beer and the Electron IPA. All of the beers taste great and if I have not already clued you in on how the staff are, well they are friendly and great!
Puyallup River also serves food. Mostly cold sandwiches, meat and cheese plates, salads and such. The portions are perfect if you want a nice, light lunch or just a snack.
Indeed I will be going back to Puyallup River for many more happy returns!

Real nice place. It is cool to have such a great beer bar in Puyallup. They some nice folks working here too.

The best feature of the PRA is the ever evolving beer board.  This means your favorite beer might not be there for long, but a new beer swoops in to take its place.

They have a couple of old-school video games and a pool table.  They could use a Foosball Table or a little more entertainment, due to lack of food.

Anywho, my wife and I spent a couple of hours enjoying some great beers.

Staff is very friendly. I like this place. It's nice and roomy with a pool table and lots of chairs. Beer was good too. I'll be revisiting.

Lots of yummy beers!! Tasty IPAs, for sure. Pretty cute and trendy inside, too. Bright lighting and color scheme which is a nice change of pace compared to the poorly light standard sports bar type place. The wait staff are all very friendly and more than willing to answer any questions you may have regarding their wide variety of beers on tap. I was a big fan of the handwriting on the reader board. I liked how Mt. Rainier was painted on the reader board. They also fill growlers. PLUS, they give you popcorn!! I like it a lot.

I used to always have to go to Tacoma to get good beer, not anymore!  I'm loving the Puyallup River Alehouse!  24 taps!! This place is awesome because there is so much selection; lots of different types from IPAs to Saisons to Ciders and beyond.  Free popcorn, a couple of unique video games, four big screens, and you can bring in food.  They also have some sandwiches and other snacks for purchase.  And, they do growler fills.  It's really nice to have a place like this in Puyallup!

A friend and I swung by on one of the nights before the grand opening. There wasn't any place to sit, but we did find a spot near the popcorn machine, which was also near the pac-man machine, which worked out alright. We each got a pint, some popcorn and started sinking quarters into the pac-man machine.
Couple points. The place is very bright, but being so fresh, there isn't much for decor in the place, especially a downtown spot like it is. I know it's not easy and their new, but get something on the walls, anything, lol. The pac-man is nice, don't get rid of it. I know the owner is some crazy champion and I saw that certificate. That's cool, please don't let it go. Maybe could even work in some weekly contests to win a free pint or something, who knows. I like fun things like that. Really missing the food aspect. I hope that's part of future plans or I hope that we can bring in food from other places. I think that may have been posted elsewhere, but beer and food go together.
Overall, I'm stoked there is something like this in Puyallup and I hope it does well. I know I'll be swinging by every week or two for a cider and some pac-man and if they can up their food game, it may end up being even more :)

Fantastic outlet for Puyallup River Brewing and many other smaller local brewery's. Their porter was the best beer they make, they had many good offerings from 7 seas brewing, Port Townsend brewing, MT head and others. They did have complementary popcorn which was cool. There was room for improvement with the service the place was full on Saturday and there was only 2 people working. They gave it their best but it was too much going on for 2 people to handle. The walls were bright however the decor was very plain. I will give them another shot because it was the first weekend they where open and they probably need to work out the kinks.

The premier tasting room for all things Micro in the Puyallup area.  They normally have 6 in house and 18 rotating taps that rival any bar/tasting room in the South Sound.  Excellent variety in types and styles of beers that are constantly changing and updating.  They also have wines, ciders, and fruit beers (lambic).

Great vibe, great employees, and great beer.
