I ate here the other day and absolutely loved it!    The restaurant was full and fun.  The Jamican Jerk Chicken Wrap was perfect!

The customer service was great and super friendly.  It was great to meet the new owners as well!!!!   Will be going back very soon!

I decided to give this restaurant a try because I had heard that they had a great vegetarian menu. I can't tell you how disappointed I was with the dining "experience" I had.

My daughter and I took great pains in looking at the menus and coming up with selections and second selections (in the rare case that they were out of something). Not only did this restaurant not have our first selections, they were out of our second selections as well! How can a restaurant that purports to brag about their soul food selections NOT have macaroni & cheese or peach cobbler? Seriously?! My God, they were even out of their own homemade drinks! How on earth can you advertise food selections on your menus and be out of them during the dinner time rush?

Anyone who has children knows how hard it can be to convince children to break their routine of eating at the same restaurants. I took a chance by telling my 7 year old that Quench had homemade mac & cheese and red velvet cake. Big mistake on my part. We were told flat out "WE'RE OUT OF THAT!" Not "we're sorry, can we offer you something else", just flat out "WE'RE OUT OF THAT!" Then we were given strange looks when we had to look at the menu at least three more times to come up with new selections- because they were damn near out of everything else that was listed on the menu.

Then a woman took over at the counter (I guess we were exasperating the gentleman at the counter, asking for things that they were "out" of, silly customers that we were) and she was very unpleasant. She seemed very tired and exasperated with me. I was half tempted to leave mid-order, but decided to see this experience to the end (knowing fully well that I would Yelp about it in the near future!). Once we were able to FINALLY put in an order (that neither of us were too thrilled about eating, by the way), we sat down at a table and waited for our to-go orders. We were able to see plenty of locals "hanging out" in front of the establishment, and I felt better about sitting inside while waiting for our food.

Once our food was read, the woman from the counter brought our food to us, and for some strange reason, she had a different attitude (was it because we were leaving?). Once my daughter and I left, we hightailed it down the street to Mac Arthur's, and we ate our food from Quench the next day. The food wasn't bad- it was okay. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. It was healthier than Burger King or Mickey D's, but still- when you are anticipating mac & cheese and are told "WE'RE OUT OF THAT", your expectations aren't only dashed, they're demolished. I honestly don't see how they manage to stay in business with MacArthur's down the street. I paid about $25 for food for three people and the food was average; meanwhile I paid $16 and some change for food for three people at MacArthur's, and the food was awesome.

This place is VERY easy to miss, so if you are planning on eating here, make sure to keep your eyes open for the restaurant. They're next door to Mario's (some type of fast food chicken joint). There is street parking, but I mistakenly parked in Mario's parking lot (I didn't know it was Mario's until AFTER I had received my takeout order. Thank God my car didn't get towed!)

One day I might go back and see if Quench can redeem themselves, but it won't be anytime soon. And they BETTER have some damn homemade macaroni & cheese & red velvet cake!

I want to thank Groupon for allowing me to add this restaurant to my list of favorites.

On my first visit, I ordered the grilled tilapia dinner with Cajun sauce.  The fish was tender and flavorful.  My sides, sauteed spinach and macaroni & cheese, were delicious as well.  My daughter had a chicken burrito.  I was worried about getting one from a non-traditional place, but she said it was very good!  My service on this day was excellent as well.

On my second visit, the server wasn't as nice as the first one.  I let this go on the account that it was very hot and I wasn't in the best mood either.  I order the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wrap.  Again - delicious!  I also ordered fries with mild sauce.  They were plentiful.  And, I ordered the sweet tea - it wasn't as good as it is down South, but it was much better than McDonald's.

I will be visiting Quench a little more frequently now.  It's in the neighborhood and certainly offers more fresh and flavorful options than the other local spots.

I went on Friday 7/8/11 for a dinner meal.  I had the $10 Groupon voucher so I selected a dinner entree priced at $10 from the menu and they were out of the Turkey Rib Tips. So I re-thought my selection and ordered something else.

The Jive Turkey burger + 50 cents for cheese = Too much mayo, my daughter was not at all pleased. And I took a bite and decided to toss it in the garbage at home.

The Turkey Polish = DEFINITELY a WINNER, delicious, but too much mustard slathered on.

The Catfish Rich Boy sandwich = I like that they don't call it a Po'Boy for a play on words.  It was a fried catfish fillet on a italian beef bun/roll.  The lettuce and mayo were okay. A think full leaf lettuce instead of shredded would have been better. But that's a minor thing, I wouldn't think most of they customer base is really into comparing lettuce types.

No french fries were included with the meal.  Everything is ala carte except the dinners that come with 2 sides.  I woudl go again with a coupon, I wasn't displeased. But wasn't moved to make it one of my "regular spots".

Located next to Mario's meat market, the signage is hard to spot unless you're familiar with the area. Unfortunately, they had some of the "local residents" loitering in front.  Maybe they were waiting for food.  It took almost 20 minutes for my order of 3 items. I didn't mind since I knew it was being prepared "fresh to order".

I intend to go back and check out the Turkey Tips.

The waitress / greeter lady was very friendly and personable. Offered me the option to eat in and be seated at a table or do the carry-out.  I opted for carry-out. Again, she was pleasant, no complaints.  NOW the lady at the counter, taking the orders and payments.....no type of smile, cheer, greeting...nada.  Perhaps she was tired from a long day, but I've had a long work day too and I wanted some "happiness club" as part of my dining experience. I suggest keep her in the back preparing the food and things will be better for the customers.

First off the sign said, "open at 11am" however the food wasn't ready until 12pm. Second customer services was way down, I didn't hear  "Sorry for the wait" "What can we do to make it up" nothing. Lastly the food was over salted and under cooked. awful food

    Quench is really good food!
I love that they don't sell pork and beef at all, so when ate chicken turkey and fish I ate her and now that I don't eat meat anymore, I can still eat here because they have a nice vegetarian menu as well!

I really like the concept and food is delicious. However, this is another black owned business with poor customer service. The young lady at the register had a very bad attitude. I do not know if she was having a bad day or maybe she is the owner and did not believe she had to provide good customer service. I was truly turned off!

The food is excellent. The cook was pleasant. Its too bad one person had to spoil the entire experience

Healthy soul/southern food without beef or pork.  Very reasonable prices.  Cool local art on walls; nice, colorful atmosphere.  Had the grilled catfish with sauteed spinach and candied yams.  All were delicious.  Has breakfast and lunch too.  Also has vegetarian choices.
