Maybe I was just there on a bad night. Â Friends and I stopped in before a Blue Wahoos game to grub up. Â I had a burger that was over-cooked and dry. Â "Charred" would be a better description. Â "Burnt" would be less charitable, but would be most apt. Â I can't remember how much it cost, but it was too much. Â Seemed like a limited menu, but I didn't ask for anything other than the menu card that was given to me.
It's a small, cozy place, and our table was tile-topped and comfortable enough. Â Even though it was hot outside, the folks sitting out there looked comfy. Â I need to visit again and try something else. Â I'm not an artsy food kind of guy...I like hearty, comfort food. Â I doubt that I'll find it here, but I'm willing to give it another try, just on the friendliness of the wait staff and the ambiance. Â Your experience will and would probably be better, based on prior reviews. Â I swear that I'm not a curmudgeon...but I do like great food. Â Give Rag Tyme a try and I'll visit again. Â Let's see if my impression is different.
We sat outside on the patio with a light breeze & very much enjoyed our dinner. Â Our waiter, Steven was very attentive & chatted us up while there.
I had a fish wrap that was probably one of the best things I ate all weekend. Â The best remoulade sauce... it was seriously to die for. Â Just the right spice. Â The smoked tuna dip had great flavor & was just the right appetizer to start off with.
Why is this place not packed for Sunday brunch? Â It is hands down the best brunch I've had in years. Â The atmosphere is quaint and the waitstaff is very attentive. Â They have bottomless Mimosas and bloody Mary's. Â
I keep ordering the downtowner (veggie omelet with egg whites, hash browns) and my date gets the cosmopolitan (chicken salad, pasta salad and fruit salad). Â We share the fried green tomatoes as well. Â
I am hoping to try something new on the menu but my good experience makes it hard to branch out.
