What other way to enjoy a long week than going to an Irish Pub, enjoying a pint and a cold Guinness. I love this pub. It really makes me feel that I've traveled to Ireland...if all the bartenders had Irish accents that would be perfect! I wish I could spend every Friday here. I love the live music. For some reason I feel at home here. I'm Half Greek Half Scottish. I suppose the Irish side of me feels that way. I just need to try me some bangers n mash or whatever food items them have next time!
Review Source:NOT impressed. Very unlike Disney.
They had the dinner menu posted but was still serving lunch menu, so could not order what we wanted. Then when we did order from lunch menu, the item was being saved for dinner plates. I never though scallops were so difficult to manage. We stopped at the drinks and had to pay for them. NEVER AGAIN.
I had a great time here! The dancing distracted me from my food a little, which worked in their advantage because I would have otherwise found the food only moderate to fair in quality.
We got an amazing scallop appetizer served with two sauces that were different but equally delicious. The scallop was large and perfectly seared to retain the natural sweetness and soft texture.
My burger was initially made well done despite my order being medium rare, but they were more than happy to help me replace my meal. I found the burger to be greasy and salty... but I was hungry enough to finish it.
It was all very pricey though :( What'd you expect? It's in DT Disney!
On the plus side they had several dance performances on the stage and on a little platform in the middle of the dining area! It was all good fun, but in retrospect I don't know if I would ever pay that much for that kind of food unless if there had not been any dinner entertainment as well.
Downtown Disney ( soon to be known as Disney Springs ) has many places to eat and tons of shopping. If you are on the dinning plan this is your safest bet to find a great meal.
If you are looking for a quick snack lunch, Â then go someplace else. The portions are generous and the menu has many quality items on it. This being an Irish pub the expectations for SHEPHARD's PIE are high. Both times I had the PIE it was fantastic. The presentation of food is interesting, and favors abound.
The fish and chips meal is far superior to the fish and chips served inside  Epcot's UK section.
Service is great. The staff is friendly and is used to answering questions about the meals. Best meal in Downtown Disney.
Live music and Irish dancers every night, I love it! Â The food was great, too! Â Unfortunately, it wasn't a perfect 5 star, as I expected it to be for Disney. Â First off, the booth we were seated at was hard to get into, and I'm not a big person, so the heavier people in our group I'm sure struggled. Â Also, my biggest complaint is that not every table can see the stage and performers. Â As someone who adores everything Irish, I was extremely bummed to not be able to see the musicians or the dancers. Â For a restaurant that advertises live music and dancers, the layout could have been done much better to give every guest that experience. Â My other complaint was the appetizers- our table got the large sampler platter; however, for the price, there wasn't enough food to match the price. Â Everything tasted good, yes, and I know it's Disney, but I still expected more food than what was on that platter- a big disappointment especially at the start of the meal! Â I got the burger with the Irish cheddar, medium rare-juicy and cheesy- SO GOOD! Â If I go back, I will ask for a better table!
Review Source:Irish Pub meets trendy fusion restaurant. Â The food is tasty, but nothing INCREDIBLE.
The place is pretty pricey, but if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, it is BY FAR the best place to spend your "full service" meal credits in Downtown Disney.
They have live music both inside and outside. Â This is code for: Â hot Irish men singing to you no matter where you sit. Â It is fantastic.
I was really not a huge fan of their signature bread pudding dessert -- I thought it was super sweet and just not great. Â I would recommend the "fluffy lemon cloud" dessert over it in a heartbeat.
Tip: Â if the front desk of your hotel and the Disney app say that there are no reservations available just book your reservation through Yelp and you will be set. Â We went to the front desk of our Disney Resort and they claimed that there were no reservations left all week! Â We booked through Yelp on our way over to the restaurant and got seated immediately. Â For whatever reason, there are always reservations available through Yelp.
Hollywood studios was failing us for spots to eat so we hit downtown disney with a hankering for irish food. The atmosphere was 5 stars, they had traditional dancers and Irish music piping through the entire restaurant and the dancers would come around to various spots to showcase their talents. That was awesome for me, loud, but awesome to experience. It kinda went a little downhill from there, not much but enough, i suppose. I started my meal with the soup of the day which was the beer/cheese soup and it was delicious, smooth and very heavy. Sits like a meal almost so beware when ordering. They lost me with the kiss before shrimp dish. It was just ok. The shrimp are very small, almost like cocktail shrimp, just a little bit bigger. That was disappointing, personally i would rather have a few medium/large shrimp than a lot of small relatively flavorless shrimp. Its also prepared in a butter, garlic, chili lemon sauce that was too buttery/greasy and surprisingly not garlic-y enough.
I would go back again, but I would order a meal versus an appetizer.
Okay, I get it..Disney, it's going to be overpriced. However, I honestly don't mind overpriced if you're getting quality. I find a hard to justify $19.00 for a small piece of fry fish that wasn't bigger than my hand and eight french fries that only filled a quarter of my plate. Yes, great portion control if you're on a diet.
I did enjoy the Irish bands and selection of Irish beers.
Came here after a long fun day at the Disney parks. I had the Calamari City. You get the squid and some veggies fried up in a nice crispy batter. The dipping sauce that comes with the dish is great. The fish & chips is ok. The fish was a little soggy. There wasn't anything special about the chips. For dessert, I had the Strawberry and Apple Crumble. It was pretty good. The crumble went well with the vanilla ice cream.
Service was very good. Our server refilled our waters multiple times. Drank so much probably because we were dehydrated from all that walking all day at the park.
This place has great live music. They had a 4 person band playing some great Irish music. There were also dancers doing some Irish dances.
This place isn't really very good. Overpriced, below average food with neglectful, slow service. Lots of management types scurrying around not really doing anything, as far as I could tell (like ask a customer if he wanted another beverage, since the server was nowhere to be seen). I don't expect to return here.
Review Source:It was okay the food was average this is more a normal night out not a magical night at disney. I love disney & I have season passes but I find that downtown is very trashy in comparsion to the other parks. I only go there when I am meetin friends that do no have passes.
almost forgot the Irish dancers are fun to watch
My girlfriend and I enjoyed dinner here back in May. We would definitely come back the next time we visit. Great food, great atmosphere, great decor, great live entertainment. The place does give you a feeling that your in Ireland.
Drinks:
Flights of Beer: The Four Provinces - Guinness  |  Smithwicks  |  Harp  |  Kilkenny
Appetizer:
Scallop Forrest - Georges Bank scallops in a golden batter served with citrus lime dipping sauce & sweet chili jam.
Entrees:
Mighty Mixed Grill - Lamb chop, Guinness banger, sirloin steak, black pudding, chicken drumstick & bacon. Â Mighty.
Braised Be. Beef - Braised beef with horseradish mashed potatoes, roasted carrots & parsnips.
This was the second time eating here and it is OK; but not great. Â The service was sort of slow, the waiter was nice and obviously over tasked. Â The Shepard's pie was sort of weird, sort of flavorless. Â The fish and chips were very good and the eggs coquette were very good. Â The price for portion were very expensive, small portions with large prices. Â I guess this should be expected for a Disney property. Â The up side is they were seating with no wait while all the other places had a 15-30 min. wait. Â $94.00 for 3 plates of food 2 teas and 2 beers, Â Gratuity was added automatically. Â Over all I probably won't go back; but it was not horrible !
Review Source:Raglan Road has live music and dancers each night, which are very entertaining. Â The menu had nice variety, including vegetarian options, but it was a little pricey (which is to be expected for a tourist area). Â It is right in the heart of Downtown Disney, and features both indoor and outdoor seating. Â The service was prompt and the food was quite tasty.
Review Source:I am happy to say we made it. We had booked this brunch weeks ago and didn't realize it landed on Mother's Day. Wow! Busy day.
When the doors opened at 11:03am people were a little peeved. They wanted those doors opened at 11 on the dot.
The outside seating is nice. The weather was great today and we had a slight breeze. But we chose to sit inside.
Nice looking bar. The whole place is huge. The seating is nice and spread out too. You don't feel crammed into one place near several families. Lots of room.
Nice and sunny day makes the restaurant glow on the inside. People were lined up to get in today.
Full Irish breakfast with sausage, black-and-white pudding, bacon, roasted tomato, mushrooms and fried eggs with roasties.
Pancakes Diaspora. Homemade pancakes with creme fraiche, maple syrup and mixed berry compote.
Eggs Benedict - Two soft poached eggs on a toasted English muffin with prosciutto smothered in hollandaise sauce and served with roasties.
Chris was our server today. Awesome guy. We finally got great customer service at Disney. After a whole week of okay service it was refreshing to get some true guest service.
Happy Mother's Day!!
Are you an adult?
After a few days of dodging strollers and scooters at Disney Parks, I came over to Downtown Disney. Â As fate would have it, I somehow made it past all the kid themed restaurants and found Raglan Road. Â He are a few high points....
1. The place caters to adults. Â While kids would be welcome, this is more of an adult-friendly place.
2. Raglan Road offers live music and Irish dance inside the restaurant, as well as outside on its large patio. In two visits, I found he entertainment to be first rate.
3. The food is great. Â The entrees are of a good variety (I expected the shepherds pie and fish and chips to be on the menu, but had an absolutely generous and delicious plate of salmon).
4. Bar service is excellent, but stick with more Irish whiskeys and beers, rather than requesting more fruity Florida cocktails.
5. Prices here are reasonable. Most entrees range from 16-26$ and feature generous portions that are flavorful and well plated.
I've been to my fair share of Irish pubs (Healy's Tavern, anyone?) to chow on some grub and have a pint. This place - while it may not be a true hold-in-the-wall pub - was the most enjoyable out of any of the places we visited during our WDW trip. It was so enjoyable, in fact, that on my next Disney trip (two weeks away) I want to take my friend Liz here. She's a true-blue Irish lass who actually spent her entire college career in Dublin drinking at real Irish pubs - and yet despite this, I want to bring her here to enjoy the food, booze, and atmosphere.
Like I mentioned, this place is much fancier than any pub you'll find in Ireland. The food here, in my opinion, should be considered upscale, but with an old-world twist. They have the classics like Shepard's Pie and Fish and Chips, but other yummy dishes like Raglan Risotto and something called Pork Supreme.
We made reservations for the place, but we had to wait 15 minutes or so despite it being January. At the time, Raglan Road was the newest restaurant in the Downtown Disney area, so I'm assuming that's why. We waltzed through the gift shop during our wait.
The first thing you'll notice about this place is the decor - dark wood and even darker lighting make this place feel like a pub. Yet the expansive dining area tells you it's no ordinary watering hole - this place means business. Overall, it had quite the charming effect - we were seated in one of the quieter dining areas to enjoy a memorable meal.
Our server - and I forgot his name - was warm, committed, and downright hilarious - he was open to friendly chit-chat about anything. He told us, at the end of our visit, how wonderful it was to shoot the breeze with him. To me, that's definitely the spirit of an Irish pub - friendly conversation and humor, regardless of location.
And so, the food - my mother had that Raglan Risotto, minus the parm, and she raved about it. I had the Beefy Murray, and while I'm not the biggest fan of spicy foods, I'm a sucker for anything in puff pastry. Despite the two different meals, one thing was for certain: Â the food was well-prepared and fresh. The portions were a bit small for the price, but the quality definitely made up for it.
We were encouraged to stay for as long as possible despite the busy crowds. We kicked back with some coffee and Bailey's - the waiter even brought me ice cream because it was my birthday.
While we were having our after-dinner drinks, a show was going on in the main dining room. Irish step dancers amazed the audience with their skill. It was definitely the cherry on top of a great dinner sundae.
Overall, this place earns a five star in my book, and I would love to return here whenever I'm at WDW. I have the opportunity to visit a number of pubs in my area, but there was something unique about this place - maybe it was the high-quality grub mixed with old fashion charm.
Keep in mind this place gets loud and rowdy - maybe not the best for small kids. I would actually recommend this as a place for parents to get AWAY from kids - the booze is varied and plentiful, and the food is different. If you've got a date night away from your kids while vacationing at WDW, give this place a go.
Long story short, Raglan Road is one of those places I need to go to every time I'm on vacation in Disney. This is by far one of the best Irish restaurants I've ever been to and is my favorite place to eat in Downtown Disney.
The food is delicious and the beer selection is pretty interesting. I've been here 3 times and the wait hasn't been as long as that of the surrounding restaurants.
My two favorite dishes here are the Braised Lamb Shank and Mammy's Roasted Chicken however I'm looking forward to trying their Shepard's Pie.
Enjoy!
This place is cool. First time having Irish food. They offered soda bread and my boyfriend really liked that. I didn't like it much because the type of spread/dip for the bread was really sweet.
We ordered the main appetizer which had about 4 or 5 different types of little appetizers to try. I definitely recommend that if you never had any of the dishes before so you can taste everything.
They have performers while you eat. A band and dancers! Great for dinner, drinks, and entertainment.
Why, why, why can't I live in Orlando, FL and preferably right next to this place? Is it sad to relocate from DC to FL for bread pudding alone?
I had heard amazing things about Raglan Road and that it was a must to go. Well friends, it is!
My friends and I started with the Smokie City appetizer and it was quite good. There was a ton of the cheesy goodness to go around and the crostini served with it gave a nice crunch in the midst of the cheesy potatoey, haddocky goodness. Plus, you know it is a good cheese dip when you are holding your hand two feet above the table and the string of cheese has yet to give way haha.
I went light on my entree because I had heard talks of a life changing bread pudding and nothing was going to stand in my way of getting it. I ordered the SSS Beefy salad. It was quite delicious, what sold me on it was the horseradish (which was homemade and had that aromatic bite of great horseradish). One of my friends had the fish 'n' chips, they were juicy crispy and a big pile of yummy goodness.
So now was the time, the waitress asked, "if we'd left room..." and before she could finish I answered yes. It was bread pudding time. When the dessert arrived I was so ecstatic. It is a coffee mug brimming with layered pieces of buttery baked bread and you can see golden raisins in there as well! There are two little coffee creamer type pitchers on the plate as well that have cream Anglaise and a caramel sauce. All components are served warm and you can either pour the sauces over the bread pudding or employ the dipping method. I used the latter of the two. This dessert was in fact amazing guys. The bread was painfully soft (huh?) and you have this overwhelming taste of just lovely buttery softness when you put the first bite in your mouth...IT LITERALLY MELTS! Both sauces complement this gem so well that you can't decide which is best.
I do have to say, if you already cannot tell. I enjoyed the dessert the most. It was a different stratosphere of good dessert and I am going back to Orlando, FL for just this (maybe sad in some people's eyes, but when you are an Italian who is passionate about good food, not at all). In the meantime, no dessert will ever live up to this bread pudding while I am back here in the DMV.
Bottom line: Do NOT skip this place when visiting Disney/the Orlando area. Love love love it!
When my husband and I booked our second trip to Disney I was excited to visit Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant again!
The first time we visited Raglan Road, about 2 years ago, we went later in the evening for drinks and to enjoy the Irish dancing. The pub was packed and loud, but we fell in love with the night time atmosphere. We only got a side of fries while here but enjoyed our stay.
Second time we went back (last week) we made 7pm reservations. We waited maybe 5 minutes at the bar before our table was ready but then decided to stay and eat at the bar. It wasn't crowded and staff was super friendly.
I got the Tart Art as an appetizer and it was by far one of the best things I have ever tasted. If you like goat cheese and greens, you'll love this! The bread and dipping sauce are amazing and my salad for dinner was delicious as well.
Since the crowd hadn't picked up yet, we enjoyed a quieter dinner than last time with some Irish dancing.
Always a must do in Downtown Disney!
Fish and chips are where it's al! They are made with fresh, flaky, delicious fish and the batter is just amazing. The steak fries that come with them are delightful as well.
My other favorite dish is the mussels. That sauce! Amazing.
Wash it all down with Magners and I'll say you've never had a better meal.
Stopped in after a long day exploring Disney's Animal Kingdom. Â I really like this place. Â They have a great selection of Irish beers on tap and a very good Irish menu. Â
I ordered the Bangers & Booze which is a dish of Irish sausages on a mound of mashed potatoes served with a Guinness sauce and beef stew. Â The dish was phenomenal! Â The beef stew alone would be worth ordering. Â The sausages had great flavor and the potatoes combined with the Guinness sauce rich and creamy. Â Or dinner was also served with a dark bread and a plate of olive oil and Guinness reduction. Â This also was amazing! Â I was incredibly pleased with my dinner here as we're the others in my group. Â It is a little on the pricey side but well worth it, especially compared to other offerings on Disney property.
OMG!!! Â Gluten free fish and chips... Â Gluten free calamari... Â and they're DELICIOUS!!!
The batter is made with a fava and garbanzo bean flour and champagne. Â It makes for a super crisp, light and crunchy coating on the fried items. Â Even the gluten eaters in my group agreed that the batter was delicious!!
I'm delighted that Raglan Road has come up with a gluten free option for one of their signature dishes!
Always a good time. Â Entertainment and service is top notch. Â my last visit I had the Bangers and Booz, pretty darn good, probably one of the best bangers n mash plates I've had. Â The thing that makes theirs different from the rest is that they top their dish with homemade stew instead of gravy. Â i loved that.
Only four stars though because I was not thrilled with any of there appetizers, including a calamari dish that was nearly indelible because of the amount of salt they put on it. Â Also tried the burger and it was just ok, nothing special. Â Would love to try the Shepards Pie next time but am a little hesitant because it didn't really look like much, guess we will let the taste buds decide on my next visit.
Overall it's a nice experience especially if you like Guiness and Irish pub food.
Raglan Road was good, although I didn't think that it lived up to the high expectations I had for it. Many have said that it was one of their favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World and while I did enjoy it I personally did not see it as being exceptional and it was not one of my favorites.
I remember loving the calamari, but not being too fond of the shepherd's pie. The restaurant looks nice and I enjoyed the atmosphere. The service could use some improvement as I had to hunt down our waiter for a refill. I thought the prices were reasonable. The food here seemed a lot cheaper than in the parks, which I liked. The food on the whole was good, but not as good as I have experienced at other WDW restaurants.
I can't give this place anything higher. I went here late for a dinner date with my husband while visiting Mickey on a Saturday night. The music was on just far too loud, we thought we could make it work, as we weren't really that close to the stage, but we had to yell at each other's faces.
On another note, here is what we ordered: 2 beers- Magner's and Kilkenney with an appetizer of mussels, which was pretty good. The seafood was fresh, but when we ordered our fish and chips, we didn't know that there would only be one piece of fish. Sorry guys, usually it's two pieces of fish and medium to thin sliced fries. These were a tad bit too soggy for us and for an Irish place, I would have thought that they knew how to do this correctly. Also, these were previously frozen fries, not home made and we could tell.
Lastly- for three glasses of beer, two fish and chips (btw they were $19 each!) and the mussels- it came to $88. It isn't worth it for the meals that you get here, perhaps for the appetizers and beer yes... but there are better places to go.
I'm Irish and I will admit that Ireland isn't first and foremost thought of for it's brilliant cuisine. But at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant, the food is really top o' the line.
I ate lunch here about a month ago with my blessed wife to be. It wasn't a busy hour though there were a few people sporadically enjoying their meals throughout. Our very cordial waiter walked us to the back of the restaurant and gave us a primo table. It's a small, circular table back near the decorative fireplace. What made it so great was the extremely comfortable, cushy chairs! I took a pic and posted it here. Look at that! Go sit there, it's awesome. It's amazing how something as simple as a cozy chair can do you some good and warm you up for some comfort food.
I had a Dogfish Head beer (though I should have ordered a Guinness!) which was very good.
The fiancé ordered a Caesar salad which she loved as well as the fish and chips which she raved about. I sampled a few bites myself and had to agree that this crispy battered perfection was only made better by the fresh tartar.
It took me a few unnecessary minutes to decide on what to eat. In the end, I chose the quintessential Irish dish - the Shepherd's Pie. Can I tell you how good this thing is? How perfectly sculpted? How explosive its flavors? How can I describe to you the first bite of this culinary delight? Slice your fork down from the top potato mash to the ground floor beef and scoop all that goodness up. Wow is this thing good.
Satisfied, happy, full, relaxed, the bill came, and it wasn't that bad! I thought it was funny that right at the top of the bill, it is written, "Here's the damage!!" Cute.
If I lived in Orlando, I'd go to Raglan Road every time I'm in Downtown Disney. And every time I'd go, I'd sit in that chair and I'd order the Shepherd's Pie. And I'd never regret it. Though on subsequent visits, I'd probably order a Guinness in lieu of the Dogfish. Just because. Slainte.
Hands down, 5 stars. My husband and I took all 4 kiddos here based on some pretty positive Yelp reviews and I was truly blown away by how outstanding our entire evening was. We went early - by 7 - but the only way to be seated immediately was outside. Brrr... A little chilly but they have great heaters AND blankets so we gave it a try. It worked out fine - everyone stayed cozy - even the babe.
Our waitress was perfect. Attentive. Responsive to the kids. Patient with their distracted parents. I became especially distracted when I look over to the stage and see my 4 year old on stage with the Irish Step Dancers. (Did I mention that there was entertainment?!) Yup. I was wowed. My daughter takes Irish Step Dancing, spoke to the dancers, and they invited her on stage to do her 8s while they all clapped for her. It was a truly amazing thing to see.
On top of the service, the entertainment, and the great patio, the food was stellar. I asked for gluten-free options and just about cried when the server told me Fish & Chips! She had a lot more to say but I was stunned by the fish and chips and didn't hear another word. They use a brown rice and champagne batter and fry everything separately. My daughters and I all ordered the fish and chips immediately. My son ordered a shrimp dish off the kids menu and my husband ordered a burger and a shrimp appetizer. They offered to make it gluten-free as well. Wow. The appetizer was amazing and even served in a very cool manner. We were impressed. If I had to make one criticism of my food, I would say that it was slightly under salted but I'm kind of a salt lover so don't go by me - I just added some salt and it was perfect.
My husband ordered a delicious drink served in a mason jar and I got a hard pear cider. In the end, our bill, with tip included was $120 after a 10% food discount thanks to a hotel coupon. For the five of us plus one little person to all have an excellent meal, share an app, and have drinks ... I was pleased. Check this place out if you are ever in Downtown Disney. Amazing.
