yes, some items pricey.  I wouldn't get the cerviche again(expensive & the cerviche at our employee buffet taste better, sorry).  lovely $5 16oz draft beers.  the appetizer sampler was a great value & too much food for my big ass;  tasty/legit & i'd get it again.  thee best chicken mole I ever had.  the tortillas, cheeses & meats are good but not the best(except the mole).  legit, caliente salsa bar.  fun environment & a must for Ramon fans

Had been wanting to go to this place for a while but usually everyone's hung over on the way back from Vegas so we never stop.  We finally made it to this place and I must admit I was disappointed.  My wife had the enchiladas and I had the asada burrito.  Both plates looked exactly the same.  My burrito only had beans and asada in it and the taste of beans completely overpowered everything else.  On top of that I had more beans on the side.  The rice was ok, I can pull off better tasing rice then that.  I will say, our waiter was very helpful.  The place is much smaller than I expected but that didn't matter.  Looks like it's only open Friday - Sunday.

This was by far one of the best meals I've had!

I was skeptical at first with this restaurant being at Buffalo Bills but boy was I pleasantly surprised.

First off the portions are large. Fideo soup comes with your meal and two different salsas with a little bean dip comes with the house chips, So I was already getting full before my meal even came out. I believe this place is only open on the weekends and doesn't open until 4:00 p.m which is a bummer, I wanted to make this my pit stop going into Vegas but it's never open when I'm driving through.

The prices for the amount of food we got was very reasonable.
    A must try!

The food was good, delicious actually, but the service was fairly poor. The "hostess" completely ignored us when we walked up, and for a few more minutes, until a waiter came and helped us.  The bartender served us but it took many requests and extra minutes.  The portion size was huge, so we shared a meal and were happy.  I still give it 4 stars because the food was great after all.

Wow.....we finally scored some great Mexican food within 30 miles of Las Vegas. I am not kidding. We have been in the LV valley for three years now and alas not one decent meal of the Mexican kind in this town yet. I even resorted to asking some the Mexican folks that have worked on our home ......and they rec. various Chinese buffets. Go figure?????

Let's get back to business here. Some friends were coming over to Primm for a show and they wanted us to meet them at Ramon's. They said the place was terrific and they were spot on. First off the margaritas were perfect. We decided to order a bunch of dishes to share and the stand outs were.......Tortilla soup (I would drive there just to have that soup) rich and smothered in gooey cheese and sour cream and large chunks of avocado. Brisket enchiladas were absolutely delicious. They were stuffed with fall apart brisket perfectly seasoned and juicy. The Sopapillas were soft fluffy pillows and though we were stuffed, we ate those puppies up real quick. All the other dishes on the table were good too.

I can't believe there is a reason to drive to Primm.....but we def will! Stop in if you need some good chow and fortifications on the long trek across the desert.

Waited 10 mins to be seated on a Sat night, not too bad!. Ordered the Ramon Ayala Sampler. This thing is HUGE! Taquitos, flautas, quesadillas, nachos and a side of guac and sour cream. Verrry good.

Also ordered a chicken burrito and fish tacos. Both items were SOOOO salty that I tossed both items in the trash. Wow, were these things freakin salty. They also put this red sauce and LOTSA cheese on the chicken burrito. I wish this lil bit of info were included in the menu or minimum, the waiter should have warned me?

The salsa bar was fairly empty the entire time I was having dinner. I mentioned it to our waiter whe we first arrived, he advised that he would get someone to restock immed. In the thirty minutes I was there, no one handled the salsa bar.  Why no one restocked the salsa bar especially on a Saturday night is unreal?

When I tried to order a refill of horchata, I was told there were no free refills. Why was this fact not mentioned in the menu?

I rate this place a 3 star as the sampler saved it from earning a 1 star from me.

I would try this place at least one time. If you don't care for it, you can always visit Denny's. A mere twenty steps from this location.

What a disappointment! The service was crappy and the food wasn't any better. We waited over 20 minutes before any waiter realized we were sat there. It took over 15 minutes before we got our drinks served. It was so hot and uncomfortable. We asked the bus boy for water and he seemed to be very confused. Appetizers came out at the same time with our food (which was 30 minutes later) and no one bothered to refill our drinks. We had to keep ordering our drinks directly from the bartender.

You're better off getting a hotdog or a slice of pizza in the casino. Trust me, their service is way better.

One of the only decent looking places to eat in Primm...ordered the chicken roberto and pollo asana tacos from the bar...Our meals were seriously amazing! This place is new inside Buffalo Bills...we were pleasantly surprised...we didn't want to fight the traffic going back to Cali on Memorial Day so we stopped over to do some outlet shopping and swing by for dinner! They were understaffed but we were able to sit at the bar...the server was super busy but really nice...they had this amazing salsa bar...the BF thought they deserved a 4-5stars just for that alone and their fresh hot chips! it really was quite impressive!

The portions were also extremely huge..we must have been hungry because we polished our plates clean!! It was a memorable dinner before heading back to Cali!
Probably one of the best Mexican places we've tried in Nevada that's for sure...and we wouldn't mind going back!

If your version of Mexican food is microwaved canned refried beans, under cooked rice, pre-made frozen taquitos, store bought stale chips and tomato sauce salsa is good then this is the place. I was embarrassed for the staff to serve this horrible food, we sent everything back and even though we were offered a food voucher to return, we will NEVER eat there again! The only reason I have the review 1 star was for the 3 piece mariachi band, they were awesome!

Went here for appetizers and a couple of micheladas. Ordered The sampler de Ramon and the tortilla soup. Both were very good. My favorite was the flautas. The michelada was forgettable. RA's also gives you complimentary chips and salsa and a small bowl of refried beans covered with quest fresco and you can serve yourself from the salsa bar which has about 8 different salsas. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying some of their main dishes.

FYI - they are closed on Monday's and Tuesday's unless Monday is a holiday. Call ahead to make sure they are open

I was so anxious to try this place after I received a coupon online and after reading the reviews. We arrive and the hostess was not very friendly at all, she seemed to be bored and not care at all that she was there. Our waiter came out and didn't seem to be very enthusiastic either. We still wanted to be optimistic and expect things would get better. When our chips and salsa came out, we were pleasantly surprised because not only did we get the variety of salsa but we also got refried beans with queso fresco (cheese) sprinkled on top for dipping. Well to our disappointment the chips were stale. After the chips and dip we got a bowl of sopa de fideo (soup), which was very good. We ordered our food and drinks still waiting for this amazing food. Then the platters came out, they were the biggest servings I have ever seen. The food was delicious and very authentic. Although we enjoyed the food the service was questionable. We were not checked on during our meal, my husband had to flag down someone for our drinks to get refilled and the waiter came out maybe once towards the end of our meal to remove a plate from our table. All in all the food was finger licking delicious but the service was horrible. It's hard to decide if we'll be back because on one hand the food is great but on the other hand they failed in customer service.
P.S. On a side note, if your traveling with kids, they do not have a kids menu but the servings are so big 2 or maybe even 3 kids can share one entree. (if this helps any)

Went there this past Cinco de Mayo after the Tigres del Norte concert. I don't know if it was all the pre-concert drinking up in my room or all those damn tequila shots, shots, shots during the concert, but this little restaurant was a wonderfully pleasant surprise! I had received a $25 food voucher for this place a few months ago and after eating here, I was wishing that I would have had the chance to use it way back when.

So when I heard that there was a Ramon Ayala cantina, right away I thought "Great, its gonna be a sucky ass restaurant, with sucky ass food that has a celebrity's name attached to it." Boy was I wrong! First of all, everytime I've walked by that restaurant, there has been a 3-piece mariachi out there, which really sets the mood, especially when you are a little tipsy, and second of all, those guys can actually play AND sing, and I'm not just saying that cause I was a little tipsy! LOL.

What separates them is that even though the joint was jammed packed at about 10:30 pm, they were still very attentive. We were brought chips, salsa, and refried beans topped with crumbled queso fresco right away. My wife ordered a strawberry margarita and that was brought out quickly and unlike other places, tasted like it had some alcohol in it. She said it was good and that it tasted liked a strawberry slushee or raspado. The wait was gonna be a little longer than they wanted it to be so they brought us out a bowl of fideo (angel hair pasta in a tomato/chicken stock based broth) just like grandma's, hands down a major plus!

The wife and I shared a dinner salad, which was nothing more than iceberg lettuce with a few tomatoes and their enchiladas del Mar combo which was three shrimp and halibut cream sauce flour tortilla wrapped enchiladas topped off with sour cream and melted cheese, beans and rice. Beans tasted canned to me,  but I coulda just been a little cottoned mouthed.......rice was like your favorite tia's! Total spent was about $30.

To sum it up, I will definitely be eating here again. They have a wide selection of items to choose from, and all sound quite delicious. i heard they have a decent salmon dish, a kick ass sea bass, and lobster tacos to boot! Tequila menu, while not very expansive, offers a wide variety too. And if you aren't in the mood to eat, there's always beer and mariachi!

Fantastic place!  We stopped here on a whim on our way home from Las Vegas, and we were very impressed.  Every person from the hostess to the busboys to the managers were extremely friendly and attentive.  My drink never got below half during the entire visit (and you have no idea how important that is to me!).

So I ordered enchiladas and my boyfriend ordered fajitas.  I can't even imagine what the table would have looked like if there was more than just the two of us! It was covered from end to end with food.  Amazing and delicious food at that.

Then the bill came... Nothing short of a miracle... It was under $25.  You would've thought though by all the food that the bill would be around 50.

So the take-away is, go visit this place if you are a service oriented eater.  I am hard to impress when it comes to restaurant service, but this place did an amazing job.  I will definitely stop here again the next time I am passing through.

    Music to my taste buds!
I grew up with Ramon Ayala's music, I had all his eight-tracks,(70s)  LP's,(80s)  cassettes,(90s)  CD's,(00s)  MP3's  and now I get to eat his food! The restaurant is very nice, it has a real authentic Mexican feel to it and of course Ramon's music playing in the background. The rumor is that Ramon will be playing on some weekends and on special events. There is a little stage and a dance floor so the rumor could be true but for sure you can tell by the setting that there will be at least live music of some kind.
The food? EXCELLENT! I never thought he could cook, well I'm sure he's not the one actually cooking but something tells me he knows a thing or two about food. Ramon recommended me... (via menu) the tacos de langosta (lobster tacos) con carne tampiqueña which is the most expensive item on the menu, sorry Ramon but I don't play the accordion. I went with the steak ranchero (17.25) which is a New York steak ranchero style and it came with a seafood enchilada topped with Jack cheese and guacamole, the steak was very juicy and tender and the enchilada was really good also. My friend ordered the camarones borrachos (drunk shrimp, for you gringos) which is shrimp sauteed in olive oil, chile, lemon, garlic and tequila. It was also very good but we decided that it needed a little bit more tequila so we ordered two shots of Don Julio (arriba, abajo al centro adentro!) which made everything perfect. Overall It was a great meal and I had a wonderful time, service was great and ambiance was comfortable, I can't wait to come back and try other items... like pescado a la Vallarta (16.95) or even the recommended langosta tacos, but I need to come up with 23.75 for that.
Anyone interested in buying my Ramon Ayala's 8-track music collection?
