It was alright....
Me and the boy just needed somewhere to eat  when we came to Gary for a car repair issue. Church's round the way,  which was not looking good at all...all that grease on a hot day? No Thank you. So we went to Rays.
The food was ok. I got the 1/2 pound of shrimp, the boy got the fish and chips. He really wanted a catfish dinner, but they were out. The he order the whittling dinner...they were out of that too. So he then got smart and said "What do you have???" So that's why he got the fish and chips. They were also out of all their fountain drinks, and then mild sauce (grasp!!!!) All this was about 1:30pm on Monday, so it was suprising they were out of their menu.....
Anyways, I liked my food, it was really good. It was what I expected of a 1/2 lb of shrimp. Nice, hot and lots of mild sauce. I know the boy said that his food was ok...but just ok.
Ray did come out the the office and talked to a customer...he seemed nice and friendly. The waiter/server/cook (yes, the same person) was also nice and cut us a deal on bottle water. But the lobby was really hot, with no fan in 90 degree weather. Many of the customers said why he did not invest in a $10 box fan. They only had on station to sit down and eat, which we did, but man was it dusty.
Summary: Ray's was ok. Shrimp was what most people expect and for the food, I would go again. But make sure you order and leave. They are not able to accommodation you eating at the location.
