A great find! Everything I've tried so far has been delicious. From the pad Thai, beef with snow peas, and the Mai thai. I've made this a regular on my dinning list.

Don't forget to also try the appetizers. Their spring rolls, and anything that comes with their peanut sauce.  Wait staff is always friendly too.

The best Thai food in the Roanoke area.

Based on all these reviews, I was excited to eat here.  It was okay but can't compare to the Thai food in my big city.  The portions weren't too fulfilling and there wasn't a lot of value for the money.

By far the best thai food in the Roanoke/Vinton area, and some of the best I've had anywhere. The only thai food I've had to rival it was in Boston at a restaurant called Chilli Duck, and come to find out, the owner of Red Jasmine once worked with the owner of Chilli Duck .

I've been here countless times and brought friends and family, and have never been disappointed. All of the dishes are excellent, and the ingredients are always super fresh and high quality. It definitely seems out of place and out of the way in downtown Vinton, but its really worth whatever trip you have to make.

Also, if she has mangos, try the sticky rice with mango. Its amazing.

My mom & I were in Vinton today and had a late lunch at Red Jasmine (RJ).  I live in LA and know good Thai food.  When we passed by mint and Thai basil growing outside, I suspected that the food would be good.

The food and service at RJ were impeccable.  We were the only customers at that time - sometimes that feels awkward, but our hostess/waitress/owner (?) made us feel very comfortable.  The background music was pleasant.

I had Thai iced tea and chili basil with tofu, my mom had chicken lover. The vegetables in our dishes were extremely fresh, my chili basil was spiced perfectly to make my eyes tear a little and my nose run - that's a gauge of proper heat level for me!  My mom's chicken, vegetable, cashew dish was not spicy, and was perfect for the neophyte Thai consumer.

The portions were large enough that we had leftovers to bring home.  I thought the bill ($22) was quite appropriate.  I would recommend Red Jasmine for anyone looking for good Thai food in the valley.  Don't wait to be in the neighborhood.

My wife and I found this restaurant on Yelp, I was extremely DISAPPOINTED. $10 for Chicken Fried Rice?  I thought this dish came over noodles but to my dismay what I received was a plate of FRIED RICE.  The food was mediocre at best and the value far below what one would expect. My first and last time at the  RED JASMINE

Great Thai food! Don't let the location fool you (being in Vinton and all).

If you know vinton then you will know what I mean when I say looking for Thai in downtown vinton is like expecting to find a 32 ounce fountainhead soda in New York and actually finding one.
I have almost no experience with Thai food except for maybe a serving or two of pad Thai. I had heard so much about Red Jasmine that the wife and I decided to try it. Not having anything to compare it too I can't give it any more than 3 stars. I had the yellow curry with chicken. It was tasty and fresh, but I don't feel compelled to go back for more. I will go back, but next time I will go for the noodles.
it's clean and the service was friendly.

The first time I ever ate Thai food was at this former bar tucked away in Vinton.

Years later, Red Jasmine is still one of my favorite places to eat. I've hauled more people to Vinton in my Volvo to try her food than I can count.

I've eaten my way through her curry menu, devoured a fair share of Pad Thai, and sampled many of the more interestingly named dishes like Excited Chicken (which is exciting, by the way).

The food at Red Jasmine is reasonably priced, always consistent, and oh-so delicious. My only qualm is that the water tastes weird sometimes; but that just gives me an excuse to order a soda (canned, not fountain)!

Wonderful food, very friendly owners. There were three in my party for a lunch outing. I had the vermicelli with chicken, which was good but less peanut sauce than expected - still quite good. They don't serve bubble tea in the winter so I had Thai iced tea, which is a delicious drink to splurge on.
Another member of my party had the 'excited chicken' which was "just the right spiciness with crisp and well cooked vegetables". It had a good bit of spice. the other had pad Thai which was delightful as well. All lunch portions were a good size for lunch.
Overall a great visit. It was our first time there and we will surely return.

My wife and I went here for a late dinner one night and there was literally only one other customer in the whole place.  I started to worry seeing that most places that serve great food typically stay pretty busy especially on a Saturday night. The decor was simple, but nice and my first impression was that it was very clean and organized.  My wife ordered a glass of wine and I ordered a Thai beer to start.  No draft beer which is a big pet peeve of mine, but rarely do you find an Asian restaurant with beer on draft.   Prices start at about $13 on entrees and there is a wide range of selections.  I went with something called the Spicy Friend and my wife got the Hot and Spicy Teriyaki Chicken.  Both dishes were amazing! Mine had chicken, beef, and shrimp in an awesome spicy sauce.  I can't remember when I've had a better meal.  The service was great, the ambiance was nice and the food was amazing. I will definitely be back. I'm stingy with my 5's but Red Jasmine definitely deserves it!

It's the first Thai restaurant we tried in Roanoke. We tried the Chicken Satay and the Green Curry. The chicken satay was great, everything that you could expect. I thought the green curry would be great too...but it was bad, like made from a packet bad. Heck, I could make better green curry at home when I go through the effort.

My wife had the Pad Thai, which was pretty good. The service and ambiance were good as well. Really if it wasn't for how bad the Green Curry was, I would go back. Though as it stands, I tried Chabba Thai next and their green curry was out of this world and now I've been to Chabba three times and enjoyed it every time.

I'll forgo what everybody else has said regarding the irony of a good Thai restaurant in Vinton, that it's in a small ex-bar (but VERY clean), yadda yadda yadda.

My partner and I have been going here since right after it opened and have received consistently fresh, tasty Thai food that is spiced to our liking.  Do yourself a favor, and tell them how spicy you would like it, because it will be "Americanized bland" if you don't.

You can't go wrong with most of the dishes, but the spicy basil dishes are some of the best versions of that recipe I've ever had (and I've been around the block when it comes to Thai restaurants). I usually have it with chicken, but my partner will get it with tofu.  It's very spicy and has an earthy quality to it that I have never experienced before. Also, do not go in looking for the usual white jasmine rice.  Instead, the owner uses a nuttier tasting brown rice that is the perfect compliment to the meals.

For something sweet after dinner, I suggest their sticky rice and mango. Simple, but absolutely delicious.

I had an excellent experience at the Red Jasmine. It's a small establishment with parking both on the street and in the back.

I came here for lunch and ordered several dishes. For appetizers I had the fresh rolls which were good. They come with a peanut sauce. The shrimp pad thai was excellent. The masaman curry chicken was also excellent. Both entrees were delicious!

I will be back and do plan on ordering the same dishes again! I'm going to need a bigger stomach, as I'd like to try some of the other dishes.

The AMAZING DUCK is more than Amazing!  I have eaten here several times and have yet to be disappointed.  It is nice to find such a gem in an unexpected place.

The best Thai in south western Virginia. Shockingly good. You will be hard pressed to find many Thai restaurants within fifty miles, but luckily, this is a good one.

I'm pretty far along on my quest to eat at every restaurant in the Roanoke area.  I have a long way to go but I'm almost done with all the Thai options in Roanoke.

A few friends and I went here ready to get something better than what you can find downtown.  I tried the Tom Kar Gai (coconut with lemongrass soup) and was disappointed that it wasn't spicy at all.  It's probably my fault because I didn't request that they kick it up a notch.  Even then, there was scant chicken and the depth of flavor was lacking.  One of my favorite soups was essentially bland.  I followed that up with the green curry with beef.  Now, this was a good call.  They definitely mixed it up with the vegetables instead of just throwing in some bell peppers and onions.  The green curry had very good flavor although again, I think I need to tell them to spice it up.  I'm not asking for punch me in the face kick me in the gonads spicy, but definitely something higher than mild.  I think it might be a good idea to stay away from the appetizer soups and stick to the entrees.

Service was alright.  The place is definitely a hole in the wall, but I like hole in the wall places.  Prices were about average for Roanoke...not horrible.  Street parking is plentiful.

The next time I come here... and I'm sure I'll find myself back here... I need to request stuff spicy and I'll definitely try some of the other entrees.  I'm sure my star rating choice will go up later.

Red Jasmine is a little gem on a quiet Vinton street. I don't know how I've been in Roanoke this long without trying it. The space is quaint and nicely decorated, but there was really no one in there when we were there- which is a shame because the service was friendly and the food was delicious.

We tried a couple of the curry dishes, a standard measure of Thai food as far as I'm concerned. The rice was nice- a Jasmine blend, not just the usual steamed white rice. Everything about the dish was well-prepared, down to the cuts on the vegetables and the texture of the sauce. I found it slightly overpriced, but that's par for the course in Roanoke. Bottom line: go to Red Jasmine

This place owns me. Before I moved to Chicago I made certain to have my last dinner here. The Tom Kar Gai soup spicy is AMAZING. If you don't like it spicy you can get it made to order. I have tried numerous menu items and loved them all but nothing can top the shrimp pad thai very spicy. The mix of sweet and spicy plays amazingly well and my palette longs for it. Nothing in Chicago has come close yet to a meal here. Tell your friends about this place

My wife suggested that we try this Thai place in Vinton.  Thai?  In Vinton?  This can't be good, I thought.  I was wrong.  It turns out that a Thai family that operated a restaurant for over 20 years in Boston runs Thai Jasmine.  I had Thai silk noodles with mussels, shrimp, and octopus.  The flavor was wonderful and the noodles were the perfect texture.  I also thought that the spiciness was perfect.  I like spicy foods, so some may find it too spicy, but I have had much spicier Thai food in the past.

My wife and her niece each had a different version of pad Thai.  I really like the pad Thai, as it was more on the sweet side, which I prefer.  Some pad Thai almost tastes like you are eating peanut butter noodles, but not here.

The spring rolls were good, but not in the upper echelon of spring rolls that I have had.

There are many interesting items on the menu and I am sure that we will return soon for Thai in Vinton.
