Yes convienent because I live in Tracy/Livermore area but I WILL NOT go again. I'm going to make the trip to SF because the DJ was crap. He played songs I haven't heard since middle school, please. OH and the food stopped serving at 10 so we were drunk, starving and not dancing. Awesome. Not.

Had an order of Seafood Scampi Pasta (~$14): mushroom, broccoli, udon noodles, sweet basil garlic cream sauce, and squash instead of shrimp.  Food was O.K., staff was present, and the ambiance was... authentic.

This place must still be in the phase of reduxing cause its certainly not there!

Came with 3 friends Saturday night, hoped around, not intending to end up at a "club" atmosphere. Any ways we did and first got charge the $10 cover (serisouly, here? cover?) whatever we paid and walked on in... this is how the night went on...

ordered the first round of drink...asked for a sidecar and bartender guy says we don't have the stuff to make that...(i'm thinking, you're a full service bar and you don't have the stuff to make that?) ok fine then my friend wanted his drink...(same crap...we don't have the stuff to make that either) this was the first disappointment!!! so fine we went for some college age drinks and ordered long islands...first round was fine, nothing spectacular...came round two, knowing that they looked like a full service bar but wasn't...we just got the same thing...the same bartender made our drinks but she must have been too busy and overwhelmed...it came to us tasting like soda. There must of only been traces of alcohol...any ways we sent back all 3 drinks and told another bartender that is had barely any alcohol. He took a straw and tasted it and say "oh yah, there definitely alcohol there"...my ass! he reluctantly made us 3 new ones. What a dissapointment.

Ladies bathroom was horrible, tiny tiny stalls and one small little sink , literally fits 3 people and with the volume of people they had there, you'd think they get the clue that they probably should have a larger bathroom so the line isn't backed up.

Lastly, we wanted to go out side through th sliding doors, well apparently theres only a certain number of people allowed out there at one time, thats just a down side to not having a large enough outdoor space to accomodate.

Over all, NEVER coming back to this hole and the crowd left nothing to be desired...

The food was surprisingly good - exceeded my expectations.
    The drinks were very weak.
I don't know how old the building is, but when Redux moved in they obviously did no repairs or upgrades...the place looks like it's been there for fifty years...it has a dirty vibe to it.  The menu's were every filthy and gross,  I felt I needed to shower after touching them.  The service was descent, but, we came with a Groupon, and spent way over the Groupon value, and was told by the server he would tally our drinks separately...when the bill came, we were charged $2 to $4 more per drink than the listed price, because we had a Groupon. C'mon! We went at least $30 over the Groupon just on food alone.  He refused to honor the listed prices for the drinks and refused to let me speak to a manager.  For this reason alone, we will not return. That and the uncleanliness of the place.  There are a lot of options in Downtown Walnut Creek, I can't imagine this place lasting long with weak drinks and a filthy environment.  Too bad, they have a great chef.

This review is for the food, not the nightclub. When my wife & I entered the Redux Lounge - since we are both of AARP age - the waiter asked, "are you here with a  Groupon?"  I had to laugh and say, "yes, do we stick out that much?"  And since we were 20 years older than the normal crowd, it only makes sense. Since you enter thru a sliding glass door, the interior is all black (with some pulsing lights) and salsa music so loud you cannot have a normal conversation, I was ready to leave and go to Lark Creek across the street which is much more our style. But WTH, we were already there - so decided to stay - and so glad we did.

Redux Lounge may not be geared for the over 50 crowd, but the food is excellent!
We started with Pan Seared Gyozas & Shrimp Tempura - both were great. My wife had Lemon Caper Chicken (which she loved) and I had the Atlantic Salmon - grilled to perfection. Groupon or not, this is not really a 'restaurant', but if the nightclub fails, the owner should consider turning it into a supper club. The food is outstanding!

Ah. They have problems. I went there for the first time and it seemed pretty cool. People were nice. The bartenders weren't very friendly and the bar is so small it takes forever to get a drink. I order two at a time cus it takes about 30 minutes. Not to mention, the bar is across from the bathroom and you can smell it from the bar. They got a outside patio to smoke while you drink which is nice. They have a dance area. The place usually looks kinda dirty.

**** I WENT THERE AND THEY OVER CHARGED MY CARD BY $70 *** NONE OF THE STUFF WAS MINE, NO RECEIPT, NO SIGNATURE. They couldn't find my receipt for the drinks I paid for but could not find the receipt for everything else. Their bartenders do this all the time if you read the other reviews. When I went there to dispute it, the bartenders looked at me and my girlfriend like we were stupid. They made the mistake yet treated us like we were trying to rip them off. They were really rude and don't know what they're doing at all. Im surprised the place is still open. I had to file a claim with my bank to get the money back. Ask around this place as a bad rap. Their biggest problem are their rude bartenders, one guy and one girl, that will charge your card for stuff you didn't buy!

pros: outside smoking - dance area
cons: bathroom is across from bar - dirty - bartenders are the worst (and their biggest problem)

They need ALL new bartenders. They need to add a bar. They need to work on customer service). They need something to block off the bathrooms from the bar. Better yet move the bar altogether. Its a "shitty" place to get a drink haha.. get it. jk

Place is alright. I understand they make mistakes, but if you compare this to other places.. thumbs down. Ill change my review if it gets better. Thanks

We made a reservation for 7 and when we got there it was almost empty, the decor looked completely different than on our Groupon. It was very small and drab inside. We ended up leaving and gave our Groupon to some people outside. We didn't even want to try it from our first impression when we walked in.

    haha Redux!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the longest time, I'd always refer to it as Redox haha! I remember when I was living in Livermore, I'd do the 30-min drive to Walnut Creek to go out Friday nights, since Livermore doesn't have much of a nightlife and Tracy is, well, on the other side of the Altamont and it felt psychologically longer to drive.

All that aside, Redux is a cool lounge.  I can remember the vibrant colors inside, illuminating the bottles that sat upon the shelves behind the counter.  The music was pretty good and the crowd was nice and diverse.  It's maybe a little too crowded at times, a lot of elbowing and accidental shoving while dancing.  The drinks from what I can remember were average (not really a fair statement since I don't really drink in the first place).

Nevertheless, I def miss the drive from Livermore to WC (never thought I would), but I do not miss how they orange cone zone lanes on the 580 late at night and you'd have to merrrrrrge...ugh so annoying.  I miss Walnut Creek and walking down the streets late at night, without a care because I knew it wasn't L.A. where things are a bit more tense.  But I'll have my L.A. any day :)

Is going to Redux considered "clubbing"? I feel like if you go to Redux, you're just sort of, well, "reduxing".

Whether you're judging by San Francisco or Walnut Creek standards, Redux falls right in the middle.

I certainly don't think it's worth the $20 cover, but if you really want to get your dance on and don't want to pay for all that added gas and bridge toll, this place is probably a bargain at the end of the day.

Apparently they serve food here? How did I not realize this place was actually a restaurant?

The highlight of my year so far was convincing a guy over twice my age to come here with me. It was strange seeing a crowded club projecting episodes of Beavis and Butthead on the wall. At least they were good episodes.

As a restaurant--we loved it!  Loud rock music and upscale gourmet food in a dark bar with great service.  It was a strange setting for such a great dining experience, but the food was wonderful!

We wandered in here at 5:30 on a Tuesday night, drawn in by the $1 tacos sign.  The staff seemed a little surprised to see us, but we got great service.  They were gearing up for a Mardi Gras/Karaoke thing, but we were just there for dinner.

There is a tapas menu and a meal menu.  We ordered off both.  My hubby attempted to order the chicken wings, but was guided by our waiter to the fried chicken tapas instead which had an amazing batter.  We also got the potstickers which were steamed/pan fried--wonderful!  I ordered from the meal menu and got the steak in a red wine sauce with Japanese sweet potato.  It was pretty buttery, but very good.  Then the tacos---YUM!

Overall, I was surprised by how good the food was.  We're not really bar people, but we will definitely be back for a good meal soon!

And P.S.--they serve food until 2 am!!  It is really hard to find good food in Walnut Creek past 10 pm, so I was very excited to find this place.

First off me and my girls came in and sat at the bar,we were greeted by the bartender "brandon". Very cool, kept us entertained and made some awesome drinks! On the other hand, this guy came up I'm assuming he was the manager, but he sure did not look like one what so ever! He talked "ghetto" and dressed like a thug. He was behind the bar putting our bartender down right in front of us (kinda awkward actually) and trying to make drinks?

Anyways thats not even the worst part, while we were at the bar we saw 2 cockroaches! Yes cockroaches! Run across the bar. I looked at my girls and we literally almost gagged! I could not believe it,i thought the club was nasty? This is A restaurant and they serve food?? Disgusting!!Me and my girls will NOT be coming back to either one and i will most definitely be calling the health inspector!

I spent my bday here just this past weekend & I enjoyed it, but had better experience somewhere else. Their service could have been better & their servers could use better grammar & professionalism rather than talk "ghetto" I prefer going there around 10-11PM because once it hits midnight it starts to get really trashy. I'm not into clubs or messy drinks, let alone the smell of weed. U would think the lounges at walnut creek are upscale & classy but this lounge belongs somewhere I'm like the city or something!

Went here a few months ago and I was not at all impressed. The people are dirty, sleazy and gross and half of them stank of weed and God knows what else. The music wasn't that great either. I have spent the last few months trying to forget this place.

We had a coupon and went not really knowing what to expect  The appetizers/small plates were to die for.  The service was excellent. We ordered martinis and  but had to send mine back because they'd added olive juice to it and it was very salty. We went at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and glad we did because it is more bar than restaurant -- even though you can have a meal there.  So if you want it quiet on a weekend, come early.  Meter parking is 2 hours only, but ends at 6:00 so you can park as long as you want after that.

The interior was very austere, black tablecloths and napkins.  .

We are planning on going again soon because the food was five star and prices reasonable.

Found redux through groupon and so glad I did!  Had a tasty lunch of small plates with my friend and everything I tried was soooo good!  Service was very friendly and efficient, Echoe took great care of us!

    We ordered:

Bacon/tomato skewers (probably a fave for both of us).
    Crunchy California roll
Shrimp packets (I think that's what they were called).
    Steak skewers
    Shrimp tempura

While I would order all of these again, I look forward to returning to try other items.  There are so many yummy things on the menu, it was tough to choose.

When I was in the Navy, I used to think bars and clubs being a straight guy dick-fest was the problem in military towns.  But here too at Redux, they charge an absurd cover charge to walk into a penis fest.

If you are into women, I don't recommend this place due to being a sausage-fest.  I am not sharing to my competition where to find the women.

I'm not sure where to place my review but:

    THIS PLACE IS GREAT.

My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday night because we were having late night munchies and wanted to try a different place. We got here and were immediately greeted and seated. The ambiance is nice. The chairs and tables were really pretty and sparkly. We ordered:

    1) slow cooked ribs
    2) tuna tar tar tower
    3) pizza
    4) sushi roll

Everything was really good. I am definitely coming back to try the other menu items, especially the fries. Another customer who was dining recommended so I hope to come back soon!

The service is excellent, the manager even came out to greet the customers who were dining to make sure everything was okay.

Reasonable prices and a large variety. DO NOT FORGET TO TRY OUT THE DESSERTS!!! I hear there's a chocolate fondue!

I ordered the happy hour chicken karage and the garlic frites. First off, was that real chicken?????? I'm really not sure... The garlic fries were a lot better than the chicken so I would recommend that more than the chicken.

The calamari was MEHH and so were the salmon skewers. I wouldn't really recommend those but since happy hour is cheap its okay if you waste your money.

My friend ordered a pineapple cocktail (forgot the name) but it was really gross and she couldn't even finish it!

Don't get me wrong, the decor is really nice (except the bathroom) and the staff is really friendly, but their food and drinks aren't up to par and there are so many other places in downtown WC to choose from!

Third update's a charm, right?  Wrong.  I really have to stop thinking it will be OK to go after other bars in Walnut Creek close and just go home.  Last weekend, I didn't have any cash on hand and didn't want to lose $3.50 on an ATM fee, so I gave them my credit card to leave open.  When it came time to pay, they couldn't find it.  Then they told me they gave it back to me.  Ummm...no.  So he proceeded to show me the signed slip.  Nice job, Ace, that's not my signature.  You gave my card to the wrong person.  Response.  "Oh well, it happens."  Ummm...no.. It doesn't if you're paying attention to your job.  Can't believe they opened it for restaurant business during the day - they can't even get the bar part right.  These guys are like the gang that can't shoot straight.

Let me give you some advice and tell you now: Save yourself the cover fee and don't even go inside.

The outside looks promising, with its little patio heaters, outdoor decor, and whatnot. So I had high hopes. Unfortunately, this place is just like any Walnut Creek bar scene. You get it all, from the girls that look like they're in Vegas to the Mexicans in their cowboy boots.

The drinks are watered down. The DJ doesn't know how to mix. And the smell of the bathroom lingers into the bar area. I know, gross!  If their drinks were a little stronger, I wouldn't have cared so much. But the super crowded dance floor forced me to hang out at the bar and it was nasty to get a whiff of the bathrooms while I hung out there. I also felt bad for the old guy walking around the dance floor picking up glasses that people were so carelessly throwing on the ground... I also wondered about the fog machine... Is all that really necessary?? Or is it an attempt to hide the peeling paint on the walls or something?

To sum it all up: If you're tone deaf, wanna dance, and like watered down drinks... this place is definitely for you!

Ladies, watch out:  There's plenty of vultures along the walls waiting to go in for the kill. And if you consume enough alcohol, you might fall prey and there will be no one to save you. YIKES!

Gentlemen: I really don't recommend going here, this place is packed with enough testosterone and chest pounding little boys looking for a fight.

On a Friday night, when you are too lazy to drive all the way to SF to party, I thought Walnut Creek would have some alternative to offer.  We got to the club at 10:30-11:00 and the place was dead (understandably).  So we chilled on the patio for a while with drinks in our hands.  Two hours later, the crowd has grown in size, maybe 15-20 more people in the place.  Vibe was HORRIBLE, dead, empty.  We left around 12:00 to hit up a bar.

Sidenote: Don't put on your pumps and slinky dresses.  The atmosphere here is CASUAL.

This place is filth. Absolutely disgusting. Ended up going here only because Lift was closed and I was with a group of people who really wanted to keep the night going. The place was packed with size 10 girls wearing size 4 dresses and guys with their butt cracks showing and sweat soaking their shirts.

The most disgusting part of the night was that the guys bathroom was flooded so there was urine and feces all over the floor! It was even coming out towards the bar area.

Do yourself a favor: no matter what else in the area is closed for the night, DO NOT go to Redux. EVER. If you do, you'll regret it!

I won't get into how this place is typical of the WC bar scene, for better or wose. Or my preference for actual bars/pubs/taverns over clubs. Different strokes for different folks...

The reason I won't be back is complete and utter suckiness of one of the bartenders. I went there early Friday night, maybe 8 PM. I approach the only bartender there: blonde, spray tan, fake jugs, the yooge. There is literally more security in the place than paying customers at this point. But as I stand right in front of her, she has a five minute conversation with the barback about their plans. After NOT being rude and waiting patiently, I ordet two gin and tonics.

This young girl in old lady make-up looks at me blankly. I repeat my order and ask for Tanqueray. She makes no attempt to look for it. Out. Beefeater? Out. Bombay Sapphire? Out. I finally ask her for generic well gin. She looks like I've complete ruined her night by not asking for Bud Light or a shot of Patron, you know, something normal.

She finally starts making them and proceeds to squeeze lime juice IN MY EYES!! I stand there squinting while she looks up and asks me what happened. I tell her and she just giggles. No apology. To top off her performance, I later find out from oneof the other bartenders, that she was overcharging me by $5 on the GTs the whole night. I know, one bad apple, blah blah blah

I went here last Saturday night with my brother and his girlfriend (first time clubbing with them) and my friends and cousins. We got in for free thanks to putting our name on the guestlist on their website and arriving before 11pm, otherwise it's $10 per person.

Upon entering the club, they have a Redux wallpaper near the entrance where you can take photos like paparazzi. lol

I been there plenty of times and I usually stay for an hour because it's gets packed and hot in there. Especially me turning into a hip-hop dancer after a few drinks, it gets hot. Their music is top 40/hip-hop. Crowd is 21+ with mostly the attendees around 20-30s. Sometimes a few over the 40+. Some people dress up and some come looking casual. The dancefloor is spacious but the bar area is not. They have a patio for smokers and those who want fresh air.

It's an okay and fun club in my opinion. If it was a little bigger, maybe and more attractions, I might give them more stars.

Went here for the first time for a friends birthday...wasnt the biggest fan!!

I read the review before we went, and some were a LIE... You cant get 3 drinks for 12 bucks more like ONE for 10...the vodka was GROSS no matter which one you got, it all tasted cheap.

The owner was super nice unlike  some of the reviews posted he was not a perv in anyway, all the staff was great very nice. We got there at 940pm not many people and the dace floor wasnt open yet so we sat by the bar, at that time most people in there were dress like they were in a dive bar...yet they claim to have a dress code.

At 1030 when the dance floor opened out group was there getting down, the music was so 10 years ago which was great for us cuz we arent fans off a lot of the new stuff anyways, but the mix was a bit off...The DJ played a bit of everything but mixing it was bad... (I have 2 DJs in my family so I know)

Once it got busy and the VIP filled up the older creepy VIP guys tried pulling us to VIP which wasnt aloud at all by the staff. The staff gets to pick who goes in VIP even if someone paid for it... which was the only thing I didnt like about the staff!
This was club for 30s and up not us 21-25 we were a bit lost in there....The men are super all over the place there and are not afraid to hit on everyone in every group there. The women in this place all try to show each other up we couldnt help but laugh at that. The best part of the night was the 70 year old lady with a cane dancing with us loved it!!!

This is a very click bar, more for parties. Not a place for two girls wanting to go and dance. We saw a lot of 2 girls and 2 guys no one would dance or talk to them. And the creepy guys only go to big groups which its funny to watch LOL

The also say they have food, but never saw it!
If its for a friends birthday and I have to go here I will, but I would never go here just for the hell of it.

Decided to check out what nightlife that Walnut Creek had to offer and I could tell there isn't much...my girlfriends and I walked down Locust to check out the best spot to end up at when we spotted Redux which looked pretty poppin.

What I got from this location was:

$10 cover charge. Which means we better make our stay worth while if I'm paying  to get in.

$9 Patron Shots and $5 Beers.

Bartenders = Nice and quick with your orders.

Music/DJ = Played good music that was totally "in" 5-10 years ago. Would have liked more of what's good and fun to dance to today.

Ladies, be prepared to wait awhile to relieve your "dying to pee!" feeling because there are only 2 bathroom stalls.

Crowd was mixed. The bros won over the hoes. There were so many dudes everywhere.

All-in-all it was okay for Walnut Creek. Better luck next time I guess and I'll try to remember to sign up for the guest list so I can get in for FREE before 11. =)

Gag me. I would honestly rather lobotomize myself than frequent this  place again. Even in my completely obliterated state of mind, I couldn't stand being in here for longer than 30 minutes.

The one time I did come here, I felt like I was behind the scenes of an episode of Jersey Shore. This establishment is full of guys wearing shirts that are two sizes too small, girls who have seem to turned a t-shirt into a dress and threw on some five inch heels with it, and drinks that watered down like a seven year old with a super soaker after a water gun fight.

So why the two stars? When I am a stumbling drunken fool, I love to dance. For that, this is place is okay.

If you're drunk enough not to notice the douchery, go for it. Otherwise, save your time, money, and sanity and shake it somewhere else.

If I was just rating Redux for how good of a club it is, it'd get 2 stars.  It is your typical non-SF club, even they they try to be.  Mediocre music, not so good layout, nasty bathroom, and a lot of Ed Hardy Jeans.  Whatever that was expected.

The reason why this gets 1 star, is because I used my card here and the bartender must of wrote my numbers down.  I didn't use this card for 5-7 days prior to coming here, I swipe it once and it was cloned.  Had a charge at a Wal Mart in Stockton for 122 dollars and 2 other attempted charges at a Target in Stockton... my bank already put a hold on the card.

I only found out about these charges when I tried to use my card the next day at a restaurant and it was rejected.  This place is a shady establishment, Wouldn't reccommend this place, if you want to go to the club, sack up and go to SF.

    Um...No.

Well I guess I will just start from the beginning. This was my first time going here.

    Bar:
Me and 2 of my girlfriends got there at 11:30ish, this past Saturday night. It was a $10 cover charge(...Really?) so then we get in and it was packed with a mix of people (50% creepy & 50% normal Walnut Creek bar-goers) it took us about 10 minutes to even get up to the bar then once we did we noticed the bartenders (mostly girls; all of them were blond) were all pretty snotty. Finally we got noticed and gave our drink orders and got a rude look from her. Maybe it was because everyone else was taking shots and we wanted mixed drinks so she was going to actually have to put in some effort. Needless to say there was no tip for her.

    Patio:
So then we get our drinks and decide lets go have a smoke out on the patio area. Well as we approached the door we were greeted by a huge line of people all waiting to get outside! They were only letting a few people out at a time, which I understand but half of them were texting and not even smoking. Which you can go to the benches out front for that since you can only bring your drinks on the patio area. So, 15 minutes later we finally get outside, have a smoke then head back in to get another round of drinks then hit the dance floor. The tables out there were covered with empty glasses, hal of them having multiple cigg butts in them since all the ashtrays were beyond full.

    Dance floor:
We go out to the dance floor and the DJ basically sucked, one or two good songs here and there but everything else was kinda slow or more like house music. But, we make fun out of nothing so we started doing the best we could. The dancefloor was wet, not just a little, not just a puddle it was like a freaking lake! The sides of the floor had chair/ottoman type things that were COVERED with empty glasses...ugh.

    Bathroom:
Your better off holding it in! At one point there was only 1 stall working, then they seemed to get the other one going again but there was no TP, no paper towels and no seat covers. Wow.

I think that they really need more staffing to keep the place up. I was a little grossed out.

But who knows, maybe I just picked the wrong night to go. I might give it another chance since taking a trip to the city every time I wanna go to a dance club is unrealistic.

The bartenders here are extremely 'catty' and all blond. They are not very nice if you are a girl.
I was also assaulted by an Oakland Raider Football player that this bar knew was bad(because of past involvment with him) and did not kick him out until he assaulted me and grabbed my friend by her throat. this club begged me not to call the cops.
I would never go here again.

In the word of my good friend Candice, when commenting on the increasing noise volume during our visit..."sorry, my 30 is showing."  We are probably not the target audience for this new Walnut Creek hot spot (i.e. we are 30 and taken) but I did very much enjoy our happy hour time here.

Their grand opening specials include $5 signature cocktails and $1 oysters.  I enjoyed the "kentucky's best" and the "jalisco sunset".  Neither my friend nor I are big on sweet drinks so the waitress suggested getting the jalisco sunset with half the honey syrup.  It was perfect!  The bartender brought my friend's drink over since she arrived after my honey and I had already ordered our drinks and he waited until we all took a sip and got our feedback before walking away.  I thought that was nice and I was glad that I could give him a thumbs up on his concoctions.

We ordered two pizzas - the one with goat cheese and tomatoes and the one with prosciutto.  Both were really tasty on super thin, crispy crust.  They offer a drizzle of peppered olive oil on top and, since we are not the type of people to pass up some extra spice, we opted in.  I thought it was a nice touch.

Our waitress was nice and answered our random questions such as "so is the name of this place pronounced re-ducks or re-do?"*

I hope this business fairs better than the many other dance club reincarnates housed at this location.  They have a huge space in the back just itching for some sweet dance moves, some couple and group tables in the front and some two person seating on the patio outside. You probably won't find me here with the post 8 pm crowd but I would definitely return for post-work drinks and snacks with friends.

*Turns out the staff had the same question when they were first preparing to open.  It is pronounced "re-ducks".
