This is a good bar. They have live music and food events. They do Wisconsin Fish Fry and Crawfish Boil when in season. Both are good. The problem is getting a seat. The wife and I go regularly.
They have room to dance. Mostly rock and roll / Blues. I love the Johnny Cash poster. It' worth going just to get a picture in front of Johnny.
For all the times I've visited this joint, it has always been a good visit. Food is usually good and I like the look of the place.
I have brought my four-year-old daughter here a number of times during the early part of dinner and it has worked out fine that way. She enjoys playing on the pinball machines. The wait staff has been kind to her as well, even offering her some coins for the machines for her to play one time.
Later in the evening I would not recommend children, in fact I do believe there is an age cut-off when it reaches a certain time there.
I do miss the restaurant that was there just before Rockabillies (it was an Italian restaurant by the name of Cucina Roma Roma), but I am glad that I ventured to try out this place.
Good burgers, chicken sandwiches, and decent brews.
I ate in here last year and forgot all about them? I heard that early childhood pot smoking can do that to you. Cause short term memory loss... Â what was I talking about? Â Oh yeah, burgers! I do believe this is my new favorite place for a burger. I've tried a number of joints around my 'hood (Larkburger, Archive Room, Jack and Grill, Red Robin, etc etc) but I think Rockabillies has them beat. Superflavorfull, juicy, and nicely seasoned. I Â ate the meat and toppings and skipped the bun. There's not a whole lot of spots that I could do that at and it would still be that good. Got to get back in here again soon, maybe to check out some tunage with my burger.
Review Source:I had lunch there today about 130pm and wasnt impressed at all. One waitress for the resturant with a table of 12 and 12 single customers at the bar and other tables...Clearly the single waitress had her hands full...i felt bad for her...Anyway, I ordered a brunch burger that consisted of a large bun with burnt Hashbrowns on the btm...nice slice beef burger and undercooked bacon with a soft cooked egg on top with a slice of lettus , onion, tomatoe and pickle wedge skewered on the side with a toothpic. The sandwich was so large that you couldn't imagine eating it like a sandwich...had to fork it. I assumed since the waitress didn't ask me how i wanted the egg cooked that it would be hard cooked...The food was nothing special...As I was trying to eat my meal...got about halfway finished, the waitress droped off my ticket and hurriedely just said no rush,,,didn't offer to refill my ice tea...never asked how my meal was.... the service was so so and the sandwich was way underpar for the price. Don't think I will be going back...what a shame...just a few blocks from where I live...
Review Source:Delicious hamburger and fries for $6 at lunch plus $2 PBR. Took the hubby and he enjoyed his cheeseburger too; flat fries are super tasty. Super fresh meat - not frozen patties.
An extra thanks to our waitress, Michelle, who gave us the lunch special even though I forgot the postcard coupon from "A Taste of Arvada."
You can get a gut bomb at a fast food joint or you can to to Rockabillies for lunch and great a great meal for the SAME price.
Updating my review. This place used to be awesome, all the way from the food to the crowd to the shows. However, the last few times we tried to go for burgers, they were... crap. So bad in fact we left. The waitress was rude and slow. I may go back for shows and such, but not for the food anymore. total bummer.
Review Source:It was 7 on a Friday night and it was busy but not packed. Server was great and made a suggestion without us having to ask so we both got burgers with cream cheese, jalapeños and cheddar jack cheese. I ordered mine medium my date ordered his medium well. They both came out well done but still freaking awesome! I actually was amazed at how fast mine disappeared into my belly. The fries how ever were WAY to greasy, and the drinks weak. As the bar filled up and the band started playing it became very loud and our server less attentive but it IS a bar so it was understandable. Will come back for the food and maybe stay to hear some music. Btw it's an older crowd
Review Source:This is our new neighborhood bar, since we just moved to Arvada. It's within walking distance (or biking depending on the intoxication) from our house. They have free music on the weekends, and cool events like Crawfish boils and fish frys. The drinks are always cheap, and their burgers are AWESOME.
Don't be fooled by the unusual exterior. Once you step inside you realize that this place ROCKS, so go visit!
I came out here on a Friday night because Reckless Red was playing. According to the sign, it's Rockabillies favorite band and they were fantastic. Also, there is live music there every Friday with NO cover. You can't beat free. If you can find a way to do it, I want to hang out with you and learn your secrets.
Enough about the freebies, lets talk about this venue. First off, the food was decent and it wasn't expensive. Poor people can actually afford to eat and drink here. Plus, there was a sign saying that they are going to be starting a Wisconsin Fish Fry in like two weeks. Now, I'm not sure if its really a true Wisconsin fish fry because you can get perch, haddock, and other tasty lake fish at an all you can eat price. As soon as I have another Friday off, I'm going to be trying that out because it's the one thing I miss from growing up in Wisconsin.
Now, I just had a Shock Top for beer but I know they have some Alaskan beer on tap. I didn't get the full menu so I may have to report back on that when I don't have to shout at the waitress because live music is playing.
Lastly, Johnny Cash is on a mural there. I love Johnny Cash. There is also an old Vegas mural as well. I love Vegas. This place symbolizes the things I love. I'll definitely go back. It's a bit of downtown in a hidden location. Go there.
Diverse crowd. Eclectic decor. I am optomistic that other things on the menu are better than what I ordered.
From Johnny Cash on one entire wall by the haphazard arcade area, to the family of 5 in their bronco gear on barstools, to the country music blaring from the jukebox and the combination of suits and thong hangin' out of sweatpants clad crowd, this place had me very confused.
I acknowledge that Sunday afternoon is probably not a representative time of the day or week to experience a place that is known for their live music, but this place is a little strange in daylight.
My medium-rare steak with mashed potatoes and fresh veggies seemed to take an inordinately long time to arrive from the kitchen. The steak was good and had a nice spice. The "fresh" veggies were obviously the frozen kind that come out of the bag, complete with the krinkle-cut carrots. The mashed potatoes were the most confusing part. They were so lumpy that they brought back memories of that Thanksgiving Friends episode where everyone wanted the mashed potatoes the way their mom made them, Phoebes with carrots and peas in them, Rachel's lumpy and OCD Monica's creamed into submission. Plus, they had lots of cheese in them. So much so that I wondered if they weren't just squished scalloped potatoes. I dunno, but they were weird, not particularly tasty, but interesting.I recommend you stick with the burgers.
I dunno, I may find myself back here for the crawfish boil or some other special event. But, right now it's not on my return list.
A really fun place to go if you like live music and dancing. The place is called Rockabillies and true to the name they have the best local talent playing the best Rockabilly music you can hear anywhere. Â They also have bands that do Country Classic Rock, Blues etc...
Great burgers and a nice selection of bar food reasonably priced. The service is really good and gets better the more regular you become.
So... it's a quaint little bar/restaurant/dive in a strip mall, but it's actually a pretty cool place. We were surprised, it looked like there were 2 or 3 bars in this little area and we had a tough time finding parking. Had a groupon to use before St Patty's day, so there was a pretty large rough and loud crowd seated behind us, but there was plenty of tables (around 6pm when we went) and they had a special, which included food and beer. I had the turkey sandwich, which had smokey bacon, and two slices of pepperjack cheesey goodness on toasted bread. It was a little buttery, but it was really, really good, I would call it the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had :) got the home made chips too, they were really good, the hubby didn't like them as much, but I really like thin and crispy crunchy fries, so maybe that's why I liked them so much. Dipped them in ketchup, very tasty. He got the special, rueben, with fries, and he really liked his sandwich a lot, I was stuffed and didn't get a bite. He said he'd come back for the sandwich, so that's a good sign. As for the place, they have a small stage, and its pretty dark, definatley more of a bar feel, but there were families there and even some older folks stopping in. They have lots of rock a billy's there, locals and seemed to have a pretty good crowd. The service was ok, our drinks could have been filled more, but that's ok, we still enjoyed it. I'm not sure about the happy hour, it seemed like maybe it had changed, as a lot of the other reviews I read seemed ot mention cheap burgers and beer, special and bar type snacks and such, but all they had were $3 beers and the rueben special that day(?), so I was a little bummed about that, but we might stop in again soon for the tasty food and to check out some music.
Review Source:Rockabillies has some of my favorite local bands play on the weekends (The Living Deads, The Atomic Drifters, The Pin-Up Boys, etc.). The sound, for the size, is great.
My only complaints are the size of the dance floor and the location of the joint. I know, I know, it's a bar first and a dance floor... not first. But how, oh how, am I suppose to not hit other dancers when the dance floor is hoppin'. Oh and that it does with the lineup of bands they select.
Location, that's more of a "wish list" item. I wish that it was closer to Denver because I'd go more often!
Nice place for a delicious burger. I'm not usually a big fan of dive bars, but this place was definitely on the refined end of dive-y. I thought the burgers were delicious but having to buy fries on the side is a little much- I mean, we're going to buy drinks anyway, can't you just put a little bunch of fries next to my burger? The best part was the oldie rock music! But it was a little dark, and a little stark for my tastes. Also- they were out of Bud Light? Weird for a dive bar, right?
Verdict: Decent burger, even better for take-out?
Can I wax poetic on this place?  Awesome!  U walk in & think "nice bar but how is the food gonna be?". In a word: delicious!!!  Fast service. Had a couple ice cold draft beers & sampled the buffalo roll appetizer. Hot & good. The burgers are amazing. Hand formed patties cooked the way you want them. Hubby had Blues Burger, he enjoyed it. I had one with jalapeños & cream cheese...what a combination!  All this while good old rock n roll playing. Great place, can't wait to come back & bring some friends!  Heard they have bands on the weekends...def gonna check that out. Try this place, you'll love it!!
Review Source:Less than $4 for a large, juicy burger? Â Sign me up! Â The fried green beans are also quite tasty!
Be aware that this is a bar. Â It's dark, loud, and the beer is flowing, but it's clean. Â Service is friendly but slow, which is understandable since there has only been one girl acting as both bartender and waitress both times we've been there!
Yelp did it again. We were quite pleased with this place. Fair Warning: it is a bar. Not the coziest place ever, and a bit dark, but very clean (for a bar) and not too cluttered. We had lunch here, Â and there were only a few people inside, but I imagine it is busier as it gets later. They do have live music sometimes.
We both had burgers, fries and a salad. The burgers were excellent and were clearly hand-made, and the buns and toppings were fresh. The menu isn't very extensive, but prices are very fair. My boyfriend is a burger-fanatic, and was pleased. If it were closer to home, we would be here all the time.
We also went to the Wisconsin Fish Fry evening and had a great time, versus a previous reviewer. The flyers I saw said the live music started at 7:30. It was the fish fry that started at 5:00. The music over the speakers during dinner was incredibly loud, and did make it difficult to hear what others at the table were saying. But the food was good and the service was amazing. Our waitress must have checked on us a dozen times, kept the beer flowing and even recommended a great arnold palmer with vodka drink for me that was on special. We stayed for the first set of the band, which started about 7:45 and they played great music.
Review Source:We heard this place had good burgers, from the Curves ladies next door. Â Now, I don't know about you, but any restaurant endorsed by a group of people who love to eat is worth trying to me.
We stopped in around 5 on a Saturday. Â They seemed pretty busy for fairly early on a Saturday- the bar was full, and there was a steady stream of people coming and going. Beer prices seemed standard- $5 per pint. PBRs were $2, cheaper than Coke ($2.25)! They had a pretty good draught beer selection- Guinness, Stella, and I think she even said Paulaner, among a few others.
We all ordered burgers and smothered fries, and mac and cheese rolls. The waitress recommended these, and I can see why.  Homemade mac and cheese (and BACON, hello) wrapped  in spring roll wrappers and fried. Served with marinara (which was entirely unnecessary), those little buggers were a perfect bar food- crispy, greasy, salty, and delicious. They got our hopes up for the real food.
Smothered fries were very good- the chile tasted a lot like Santiago's, which the waitress confirmed is what it actually was. Â Nothing wrong with that- if it ain't broke....
The burgers, for only $3.50, were an exceptionally good deal, and were really freaking good. Buns were fluffy and seemed homemade, the burgers were huge and juicy, and we ate them all and left completely stuffed.
All in all, I'd say we were all pleasantly surprised by the food here. Â We will absolutely go back!
I came to Rockabillies on a Friday night and it was BUSY. Â But I think there's a very good reason for that. Â Arvada, Lakewood and all the west suburbs are dying for more places like this. Â Unique and interesting bars that don't involve driving all the way to Denver.
We made it for the tail end of happy hour (3-7), which is $2 drafts/wells and a $1 off everything else. Â The bar menu is pretty decent. Â I ordered a chicken wrap and it was actually delicious, complete with what were either homemade or really good potato chips. Â A notch above your typical bar food.
The layout of the place is pretty cool, kind of dark 50's diner-ish. Â They had a line up of rockabilly/surf rock bands and no cover to get in. Â Also a good mix of younger and older people.
The one negative I would give is that the waitress completely ignored us, which I didn't understand since she was helping people sitting to the right and left of us. Â Hopefully bad wait staff like that will be weeded out as this place becomes more popular. Â And the bartender who I ordered my food and drinks from was really nice, so I guess that evens it out.
I'll be back, Rockabillies!
I went to Rockabillies on their Grand Opening weekend and it was a blast! Â I saw Cora Vette and the Vinyl Tops and the Hillbilly Hellcats as well as some Burlesque which was a lot of fun. Â I got there too late to sample the food but I nibbled on a friend's freshly made chips and they were great. Â The waitresses and bartenders were friendly and the place was packed! Â I am told there is only one other place in this area but I would drive there again for the rockabilly scene and some fun.
If you like blues, swing music, rockabilly, old fashioned cars, and anything retro than this is probably a good place for you!
