My wife and I went there for lunch. There weren't many people so service was quick and staff is friendly. My wife ordered the steak and cheese sandwich, I ordered the british burger (bacon cheese burger). The steak and cheese sandwich was hot in the middle and cold on the outside. Clear sign of microwaving the sandwich. My burger was cooked properly but, the burger appeared to have the same consistency and shape as any fast food place. Edge of the burger was flat like a frozen patty that comes in big boxes and the texture wasn't that of a fresh made burger. I wouldn't have expected that from a nice restaurant, ale house, or sports bar. Their compensation for a crummy lunch was to offer us a desert... Dumb shits...
Review Source:It should be called Rockville Sports bar, not Ale House.  I don't know any ale house anywhere that has 40 TV's tuned to sports channels, serves pre made processed food and pushes the beers and alcoholic drinks.  Food is an after thought here or was a way for them to get their alcohol license.  The food here is pure  DRECK!!!!  The server while pointed out the sides noted that about one third were upgrades.  That included a  side salad for an extra couple of bucks.  That was probably the only fresh item on the menu. I had a "pulled pork" sandwhich but I'm not sure what it actually was.  I couldn't even eat it.  Of course the business plan of any sports bar is to over salt everything and that is no different here.
Montgomery County expects and deserves better.
I have been in about five times during the week. Exactly what the neighborhood needed. Â Friendly bartenders and they make everyone feel welcome. Â Food has always been very good. The cajun chicken pasta is excellent and so are the blackened chicken sandwich and apple walnut salad. Â They have a long menu and great specials such as lobster on Wednesdays and ribs on I can't remember which night. Many many tvs so you can see the Caps from any angle :-) Â Great beer specials - I usually have the Foster's pint for $3.95. Good music too although last time I was in I couldn't hear Bruce as well as I would have liked.
Review Source:This is a fairly new place that still needs alot of work on its staff training. Â At the front desk we waited 35 minutes only to find out they thought they had seated us already!!
This place is good for game day food, but don't try to get a steak cooked to the proper temperature. Â The Filet we ordered well done came out rare. Â The Ribeye was ordered medium well and came out medium rare. Â And our waitress did not have a clue... Â On second thought, no amount of training could compensate for her lack of intelligence. Â Be warned. Â This Ale House is good for many things - but not fine dining.
