Roy's - Kaanapali

Monchong was delicious! Pricey but worth every penny. Current location is so much better than when the restaurant was in a strip mall.

Food was good but service disappointing. The front desk/seating attendants were not friendly, even though we had reservations and arrived early. Waiter never went over any specials and we had much better waiters at Hula Grill, Duke's and Honu. Seemed like the staff would have rather been somewhere else. If people want casual I would go to the other restaurants mentioned and pay a lot less for the meal. Our bill was at least $50 more than the above  restaurants, only to sit with others in flip flops, hats on backwards and a staff that could care less if we were there. We have been to many Roy's (Including the old location in Kahana) but will not go back to the Kaanapali location.

After visiting Roy's on the island of Hawaii, this Roy's location was a bit disappointing. The interior decor and atmosphere is nothing to rave about, and dress code has obviously taken a turn for more casual, with many diners wearing baseball caps and flip flops - even the hostesses. The night we visited, our hostess and waiter service was less than friendly, which kind of ruined the meal. They were out of a few items on the menu, which was disappointing. However, the Mac-nut crusted fish was good, as was the Caesar salad and the Lava Flow drink.
