Okay, the food isn't that great. But at 3am on a Tuesday morning, nobody else is going to listen/even consider delivering to you. At least it beats Ramen 10th night in a row.

Like I just ordered a kebab and it's very white and bland but God knows I'm drunk so why spend the extra effort ingesting anything else when it would taste basically the same?

3 stars for a starving, drunk, overworked college student.

This place is better thought of as a hookah cafe/chill-out spot that just happens to have food in case you're hungry.

There's a pool table you or a group of people can play on, a jukebox, two tv's to relax and chill, and big selection of shisha if you're a hookah smoker (Nakhla, Al-Fakher, Social Smoke).

However if you're looking for a restaurant with the best food, this is not it. The food is pretty mediocre, nothing special. I've had my fair share of Mediterranean food, and there's nothing too noteworthy about it. It's not bad, just very mediocre - could be better. There's also American food and pizza too, and when I eat at Sahara I usually just go for pizza. I believe they have a special on X-Large pizzas for around 5 bucks which is a steal! Also, the place in general looks like it needs a through cleaning - it's kind of dirty.

Those interested in hookah: I'd say this place has the biggest selection in Richmond as far as shisha is concerned. I've never had a problem with how they've prepared their hookahs and they usually replace the coals quite regularly.

Overall: It's a nice place if you're going with friends, smoking hookah, and if you're college-aged. If you are otherwise looking for good Mediterranean cuisine, this would not be it.

I wouldn't eat the food here. No, really.

It's convenient if you're looking for a hookah bar and you live close to VCU. But really, nothing special.

WORST food I've ever had in my life! Their "kebab" isn't real kebab. It is meat, flavored with salt and garlic powder. That's it. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a restaurant...

I ordered the Sahara plate which is a combination platter with ground lamb kebab, chicken kebab, salad, babaganoush, dolmades, and pita bread. Both the lamb and the chicken are very salty. There are no other flavors, unlike real kebab. I couldn't tell the different between the "babaganoush" and the hummus. Just that one was a tad bit saltier than the other, but still unbelievably tasteless. The dolmades tasted old and the saltiness was overwhelming. Definitely not worth the $14.50 I spent.

All this place does is add salt and garlic powder to everything. Sorry but that doesn't make food Mediterranean!

This place is packed on weekends because its also a hookah lounge- I've never had the hookah and I never will because I don't trust this place. Seems filthy. I don't know why people come here, its not like its cheap in price.

Save your money and go somewhere else, guys! This place doesn't even deserve 1 star.

With the vast variety of Mediterranean restaurants in the Richmond area, it is easy to do better than Sahara. Mediocre food, a dingy interior, and sub par service make this restaurant a last resort for someone in need of a quick, cheap lunch.

The Greek Salad (with chicken) was a Styrofoam plate filled with iceberg lettuce, canned black olives, tasteless tomatoes, feta, and forgettable chicken.  The dressing provided for the greek(!) salad was, of all things, Ranch.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for lunch... you'll thank me.
