I have nothing but compliments for the quality of the food, and the beauty of presentation. That was excellent.
The problem was on the speed of delivery of it. After the soups were delivered to the table, the rate of service was slower than molasses. It took forever for the salads to arrive.
My father in law and I both ordered the all you can eat sushi, and it was about a half an hour between each roll to come out, though the food was great, the service was unacceptable.
There was 4 of us, and nobody got their food at the same time, one person would receive theirs, and would finish that course, before the next person got theirs.
I read the reviews before going here and had great expectations - Do not go for groups. Waitress was rude and didn't understand basic requests. Slow service. Had group of 14 and birthday girl was missing entrees until the end. Gave me hassle over sending back a roll that wasn't tasty. Seattle Roll....ick. Had three different people taste it and everyone had stink face from it. Â Drink service was good. Ambiance nice. Very slow and rude service overall. Will not be back. All you can eat...broken English waitress wanted to try and charge me extra for unbeaten roll that tasted awful. I only had 2 other rolls so it wasn't like I had 20 rolls and was wasting food - it was AWFUL and I am not going to eat something that doesn't taste right. I no play dat game. Don't try and rip me off in any language. I ended up with one good roll for a whole lot of money spent.
Review Source:I attempted to be a good wife by offering to go out for sushi tonight with my husband. I hate seafood so its an extremely nice offer coming from me. The miso soup wasn't anything to brag about. The salad was very nice and fresh, it had the ginger dressing. I ordered the veggie dinner platter thing. It was good for not being a sushi enthusiast. My husband said this place is pretty cheap and its  good sushi. We will be back when I feel extra giving.
Review Source:This is one of my new favorite places for sushi. Â Right off of interstate 64, it's easy to get to. Â It's close to lots of shopping (K-Mart, A.C. Moore, etc.) and Regal Cinemas so it's a great place to eat before a movie. Â I tried their Crispy Peppercorn Squid appetizer and I'm hooked. Â The sushi is very good and the visual presentation is impressive. Â They make each dish look like a work of art. Â The staff is very attentive. Â I will definitely be back here again. . .often.
Review Source:Terrific interior. Â Fairly cool and hip relative to most Asian restaurants. Â Food quality is solid--no complaints but not spectacular. Â Nice variety of Asian cuisines (Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian , etc).
One complaint: Â the all you can eat sushi sounds wonderful, but they really overdo the rice on each one to strategically fill you up. Â Double the normal rice. Â Be careful, they may attempt to charge you if you don't consume all the rice.
Convenient before a movie. Â Will return.
All you can eat sushi, but the sushi isn't like typical "all you can eat " type sushi rolls (i.e. Cali rolls, tuna rolls). It's all you can eat special rolls. Comes with choice of soup and salad. I had the Scorpion King, Crispy Spicy Salmon, fresh salmon, and salmon roe rolls. Salmon was like butta!
Review Source:The place looked a little deserted from the outside and I almost did not go in. I ordered the sate chicken but it was not really sate (peanut) sauce but some sort of plum sauce. I also had the sashimi platter which was one of the best presented dishes I have seen in awhile. The sashimi tasted fresh and not frozen....generous portion. I would go back.
Review Source:My sister and I braved through the storm to come to Saisaki! My coworkers had talked about how good it was, and we finally decided to give it a try.
Service was fast and on point. Our waitress was friendly and actually made conversation unlike most waitresses at Asian restaurants.
We decided to get bento boxes and share a plate of the thai basic chow fun. It was a good amount of food, but it was SO good. We were pleasantly surprised by the chow fun. Â It had amazing flavor and was cheap.
This place is a little hard to find, but it's definitely worth it!
I went here with my parents this past Sunday for dinner. This is the first time I've been here, but I was impressed.
The menu is HUGE!! Lots of options of Asian flair. I love sushi, so I decided to get their Sushi Deluxe which came with a small house salad and miso soup. The sushi was very good, but nothing outstanding.
What impressed me about Saisaki was the large bar they had in front. This isn't the sushi, which is located closer to the rear of the building. I could tell they are trying to cater to a younger crowd with this bar and the large TVs which were on the current football games.
I was a little disappointed with the background music. Instead of "normal" background music consisting of soft melodies, they music was Modern Rock. I like the "Foo Fighters", "Green Day, etc., but to have them on while you're eating Asian cuisine is a little puzzling.
Other than that, I like Saisaki and I will be going back.
A great replacement to what used to be a Fuddruckers. Â Just about everything "Asian" is sold here from Japanese, Chinese, and even Thai. Â The interior is nicely designed with all of the different colored lights. The food was good, but nothing to write home about . Â I will certainly return and give it another try.
Review Source:This replaced the fuddruckers by the Hilton Garden Inn off Victory Blvd so that's a welcome change. Â Went here for dinner couple nights ago just cuz it was close to the hotel I was staying at.
Parking is definitely not a problem since it's literally surrounded by giant parking lots on all sides for various businesses and it has its own lot that was completely open at around 6 pm on a Wednesday night.
Like other places have said the waiting staff is odd. Â I felt hurried. Â My waitress kept making suggestions to me as I read the menu. Â One random suggestion after another as I was trying to read. It was a little annoying. =-/ Â
The sushi itself was actually pretty good but nothing to write home about esp if you're coming from LA. Â I got the $25 all you can eat sushi dinner because the waitress kept pushing it so hard so I figured what the heck. Â I started w/ the miso soup which honestly tasted a little watered down =-/ and a very small "side salad" w/ that ginger dressing that every Japanese restaurant seems to have nowadays. Â The two cherry tomatoes given were indeed fresh, crips and not mushy which was good. Â I was able to get my staple spider roll for extra $2 since it wasn't on the all you can eat menu. Â It was good but not great. Â Since I was really hungry I stayed w/ a tempura theme and also tried the shrimp and chicken tempura rolls. Â All the tempura I tried here was good but a little on the oily side but not enough to say it was bad. Â I also tried their yellow tail sushi to gauge the freshness. Â On a scale of 1 - 10, I'd give it an 8.5/9. Â Fresher than some spots on PCH at home but not as good as a high end place. Â They did not have any Toro on the menu.
A friend and I went here on a whim before going to a movie across the street. Â Firstly, the waitstaff wasn't just prompt, they were immediate! Â Secondly, the happy hour specials are good. Third, the menu has a ton of variety, featuring Chinese, Thai, and Japanese options, to include a Sushi chef and bar. Â The steamed dumplings were very good, and I had the Angry Dragon roll - it was very delicious, and is presented on a flaming plate! Â Finally, I ordered cheesecake for dessert, somewhat expecting the mostly-frozen, fresh from a cardboard box variety. Â I was pleasantly surprised with a very delicious, lavishly-garnished, fresh cake!
This place is off the road and hard to spot if you don't know it's there, but it is definitely worth looking for! Â Will definitely go back.
Modern environment, open floor plan. Very clean.
I got miso soup, salad and pork fried dumplings. All were perfect!
My husband also had miso soup and salad, and had the maki combo 2 as a meal. He said the sushi was fresh and it was all good.
We even got a free dessert at the end of our meal- nothing too fancy but it was on the house.
Would definitely go back!
Very good sushi, but frankly bizarre service. The waiter kept insisting that we wanted California rolls when we were clearly ordering other things. One roll didn't come out, so when we asked about it, we were told that the kitchen was still making it because we had "ordered SO MUCH sushi." The guy must have commented five times about how our group had ordered "so much." We ordered two rolls each; I didn't think that was a particularly huge amount of food. He also hovered over our table as though he thought we were going to steal the plates or something.
Speaking of plates, each roll came out on its own ENORMOUS plate. We started to wonder whether the kitchen staff was trying to punish the dishwashing staff or something. Really, we did NOT need a 12-inch diameter plate for one regular-size maki.
But it was all really good. If I'm in the area again, I'll probably go back and hope I get a different waiter.
The restaurant has a great atmosphere and ambiance inside...outside looks pretty isolated and dead. Â They have great food presentation and I think it's classy enough for date setting. Â The staff was friendly and accommodating. Â I do think that the place was a little pricey in comparison for food portions.
Review Source:Nice decor and really friendly staff set the tone, but then the food presentation takes it to an entirely different level. The cocktails are unique and tasty, the food is fresh and excellent. We've already gone back 4 more times, and we just found this place 6 weeks ago or so! My hat is tipped to the chefs, and to the owners.
Review Source:i really enjoyed their food. they got 4 stars because their exterior smelled like manure. but probably not their fault...(?)
we had the chicken pad thai (great flavour) it had wonderful smoky taste, also the shrimp lo mein, which had the same grilled flavour, not soggy or flavourless at all, and a lot of shrimp to boot.
the maki rolls were good too, freshly made and small enough to eat, not those huge wallops of rice some restaurants make.
the waittress was almost too efficient, took our plates very quickly, we'd almost have enjoyed a tad less interest in our table. :) but it was lunch time, and they gave our little girl cute chopsticks with the elastic band so she could use them too.
we will definitely go back. very flavourful food, and nice and clean looking in the dining area.
We had lunch at Saisaki and it was just ok. The service was a little slow. I don't mind waiting a while for my rolls but the sashimi should come out decently quickly.
Started off with the Spicy Tuna sashimi and the pieces were average size, not too small, but nothing to write home about. The "spicy" was overstated.. the tuna was a little bland, but at least not fishy.
I ordered the California roll and the Cucumber roll for the entree and I loved the presentation of the plating of the rolls. It looked very nice, although the rolls (again) are not going to blow you away with their size, I kind of suspected as much from the prices. I am usually guilty of over-ordering at sushi restaurants but I finished all of my food easily here. It was satisfying, but definitely not the best sushi I've ever had. Again probably the best compliment I can give is that it did taste fresh and not fishy at all. (Worst sushi sin IMO, serving less-than-fresh fish and trying to cover it with spicy mayo or whatnot..)
I can't vouch for whether they're serving alcohol or not or what the selection was like as this was a "business" lunch.. I heard a rumor they weren't. : We weren't offered cocktails when giving our order, but that may have just been because it was lunchtime.
This was our first time coming here, and not only did they spend a great deal of time and money to make this place incredible, the food was amazing too! We will definitely be returning to this eatery that has left an imprint in our minds not only for the great food, but for its attention to detail in all respects! We were quickly attended to/served, and it seemed as if they knew what we needed before we even knew ourselves!
